Adam Lambert, 'Jersey Shore' collide via Twitter

As it appears right now, Snooki from MTV's "Jersey Shore" is echoing the opinion of almost every Adam Lambert fan out there.
On Saturday the reality star sent a shout-out to the "American Idol" singer via Twitter:
"Nice meeting you at the mmva's! bumpin your new song right now, loves it!"
Of course, Adam was kind enough to send his thanks -- after all, Snooki is someone that you want on your side these days (which is strange consider one year ago she was pretty much a nobody). The reality star is pretty much at every awards show at this point, and she is pretty much the golden girl of MTV (even more than music, tragically).
If nothing else, it's at least one more person who likes Adam and "If I Had You". The singer is now in Atlantic City about to perform at the Borgota Resort & Casino.
Are you hoping Adam will tweet you back some day?

After being out for many weeks, "Whataya Want From Me" is still doing well over in Europe. It is currently #2 on NRJ's Euro Hot 30 countdown this week. It went up one spot from last week.
Adam recently said that the third single for Europe may be "If I Had You" but he isn't completely sure.

Adam Lambert Interview with The Dead Hub
Filed Under (interview ) by Admin on
Posted at : Friday, June 25, 2010
The Dead Hub was lucky enough to get the opportunity to ask Adam Lambert a few questions pertaining to his debut album For Your Entertainment and current headlining Glam Nation Tour. Read what Adam had to say below about his last two hit singles, transposing his tunes live, pitch correction plug-in Auto-Tune and the dreaded act of lip-syncing…
Dead Hub: Could you discuss and elaborate on your experience in the studio working with Max Martin while you were recording “If I Had You” and “Whataya Want From Me”?
Adam Lambert: He is great. I think Max is obviously one of the best in the business. He just knows what is going to sound the best. I trusted that because I have heard his music and I have always been a fan of it. I remember we did “Whataya Want From Me” over the summer [last summer]. I remember after hearing the first demo, being so thrilled with it. I remember going back to my management and saying, “We have to ask him to do another song. We have to. He is so good. He is so, so good.” And then he sent this one ["If I Had You"] and he wrote some lyrics that are specifically about me, kind of for me. It is a really great song. I love it.
Dead Hub: Many of your songs have you belting and holding out some pretty high notes. Do you find yourself having to lower the key of any of your songs live in your set on this tour just as a means to save your voice?
AL: Yes. We have lowered a couple of the keys so that I can make sure that I am sounding my best every night. I worked with a vocal coach on the show and we sat [down] and looked at everything. We said, “Okay, so let’s take this one down a half step and maybe alter this one,” so that I can get through it every night.
Dead Hub: As someone who can really sing and has Broadway musical experience, how do you feel about artists who lip-sync when performing live and use Auto-Tune in the recording studio?
AL: I think at the end of the day, whatever they need to do to make the song sound good is what it is about for them. I do not judge it. It is not for me. I am not going to be lip-syncing anytime soon. I am not really fond of Auto-Tune abuse. But it’s a style and it’s cool and it’s catchy. If it makes you sing along and it makes you dance, then the song is doing its job and that is the whole point. I just happen to prefer the style where it is more vocally driven.

Adam Lambert Interview with Entertainment Focus (UK)
Filed Under (interview ) by Admin on
Posted at : Friday, June 25, 2010
Adam Lambert is currently touring the US with his Glam Nation Tour. We recently brought you an update from Adam about the tour and now we’re bringing you a full interview where he talks about his brand new UK single Whataya Want From Me, released on July 19th.
He also talks to us about the controversy over his American Music Awards performance, his hope to perform with Pink and Christina Aguilera, and the reception he’s received from UK fans.
How are you today?
I’m good thank you.
Great to be speaking to you again.
Yeah, you too. How’s everything?
Good thanks. Last time we saw you was when you were in the UK promoting ‘For Your Entertainment’.
That was fun. I had a great time out there.
The new UK single is ‘Whataya Want From Me’. Tell us a bit about it.
It’s a song that asks some important questions. Obviously it’s definitely about those moments in a relationship where you’re not sure emotionally how to go about things; your scared, you’re intimated, you’re confused. You care about the person and you want them around but it’s just a lot to handle. It’s fear and vulnerability of your own feelings and I think we can all relate to that. The other good thing about it is that when we released it here in the States it was kind of a response to all the criticism I was getting for controversial performances I did – the AMAs (American Music Awards) – being outspoken as I have been about being gay. It was me asking ‘whataya want from me? I’m human. I’m doing the best I can’.
How do you cope with that criticism? If you were a female artist you probably wouldn’t have gotten all the criticism you have.
It was definitely difficult and challenging. I felt a little bit attacked. I think it’s just the way things are (laughs) and moving on to accept the truth of the matter really was just the next step. I was like ‘ok it is what it is’. Obviously it was a great learning experience. I know what my boundaries as an entertainer are here in the States. I know what works and now I know what doesn’t work now as well. Hopefully it’s progressed but you’ve got to know your audience and I think that’s important.
I think you’ll be fine here in the UK. We’re a bit more liberal and open-minded.
Perhaps, yeah (laughs).
‘Whataya Want From Me’ was written for you by Pink. She’s been performing it herself on tour. Have you heard her version?
Awesome! Yeah I saw a video and I loved it.
Do you think there’s any chance that the two of you may perform it together in the future?
I would love to perform it together. I think it’d be really fun. Hopefully we’ll have the opportunity at some point.
Where did the concept for the video come from?
The director Diane Martel had some ideas and I had some ideas so we kind of collaborated. I tend to be a pretty opinionated guy (laughs) when it comes to performances and videos. I’ve been lucky enough so far to work with people who are open to those ideas. She wanted to tell the story with the point of view of somebody you’re in a relationship with and the whole time you see the camera as my lover. What’s great about it is that person and the camera could be anything. It could be a lover, it could be a fan, it can be the general public – me asking the camera ‘whataya want from me? What am I supposed to do?’ – and showing that vulnerability. It shows the two worlds combining, your personal life and your public life, and what that’s like when you’re pushed into the world of celebrity and the pressures it creates and the tension it can put on a relationship.
‘Whataya Want From Me’ is very different to ‘For Your Entertainment’. Did you want to show fans a different side of you?
Yeah. My album in general is pretty diverse. I think there’s a trend right now where they all start sounding alike. In today’s market, being as saturated as it is, it’s the smart thing to do to put a bunch of tracks on that sound similar. That wasn’t for me. I wanted to do an album of music that was really eclectic. For Your Entertainment, the first single, I wanted to do the sexy, glam electro-pop for the dance floors and make a video that was fashion and edgy. Whataya Want From Me is obviously a lot more of a vulnerable, angsty, more emotionally-driven type song.
How have you found the reception to you and your music here in the UK?
So far I think it’s been great. I’m excited to see how this song does. It’s been a pretty big hit internationally – both here in the States and abroad – so I think it’ll do well I hope. Hopefully people will enjoy it. I think the recording is amazing. Max Martin produced it. You can really hear my voice and it’s a great vocal representation of what I do. I think it’s a great song.
Recently on Twitter you’ve been talking about Christina Aguilera’s new record ‘Bionic’. Is she someone you’d like to work with?
Yeah I would love the opportunity to sing with her. I think she’s incredible. No one has a voice like that.
Do you like her new album?
Yeah. I really enjoy it. I think it’s a great album. I think it’s stronger than the first single. The first single’s fun but I think there’s material on the album that really surpassed my expectations. She sings her face off (laughs). I’m sitting there listening to the first handful of tracks and I’m like ‘damn’. The vocals are nuts.
Yeah she can really belt it out…
Yeah her voice is amazing. It’s nice to hear that in a pop record. I think there’s a lot of really great pop music out now that I love but you’re not hearing a lot of real vocalists these days. You have people that can carry a tune that have really catchy fun music that’s well produced but it’s a rarity to have someone on the scene that’s really singing their face off.
It’s an interesting time for music as there are more artists coming out like yourself, Lady Gaga and Christina that can really sing. What do you think?
Yeah I do too. I’m really drawn to UK artists like Florence; she’s an example of someone who is very vocal. Hopefully it’s changing. I think there should be some emphasis put back on singing ability.
Something your fans are always asking me is about the third UK single. Will it be ‘If I Had You’?
Erm I’m not sure. Probably I would guess because that’s the next single here (in the US) and there’s a video available for it. I would guess that it will be.
Adam’s new single ‘Whatya Want From Me’ is due for release on July 19th 2010.

Orianthi compares Adam Lambert to Michael Jackson!
Filed Under (article, tour news ) by Admin on
Posted at : Friday, June 25, 2010
From MTV:
So when MTV News spoke to the Australian-born guitar goddess before Lambert's two-night Glam Nation stand in New York, we asked her about those comparisons, and this is what she had to say:
"Adam's amazing, he really is. He's got that showmanship thing; he's a real entertainer. And that's what Michael was — he was an incredible entertainer. He's an amazing artist, and it's great to be on this tour with him."
While traveling as a part of Lambert's road show has been rather thrilling, when pressed, Orianthi will admit that it sort of pales in comparison to her experience of working with Michael Jackson. After all, that truly was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And while Lambert is great, he hasn't reached MJ's legendary status just yet.
"Getting to work with him for the three months I did was amazing," she said of Jackson. "He had such spirit. When he walked in the room, he just had this great presence about him and encouraging, really sweet. [He is] definitely very missed."

Adam Lambert 'doesn't plan performances'
Filed Under (article, tour news ) by Admin on

Adam Lambert has said that he doesn't like to plan his concert performances.
The singer told MTV News that he prefers to be spontaneous while on his Glam Nation tour and feed off the energy from his fans.
"Nothing's as planned as people think... I'm kind of fly by the seat of my pants," he said.
"It's like a mirror... and whatever the audience is throwing at you, you kind of reflect, and vice versa. If I'm feeling a bunch of people viscerally wanting to grab at me, I'll let them grab at me, if I can reach them."
He added: "If there's a cute boy in the audience, I might get a little... you know."
Lambert recently revealed that he is no longer nervous about being on stage.

Adam Lambert Says Tour Will Only Be As Wild As His Audience
Filed Under (article, tour news, video ) by Admin on

'If I'm feeling a bunch of people viscerally wanting to grab at me, I'll let them grab at me,' singer says.
Adam Lambert is never one to censor himself, either onstage or during interviews, so when the unpredictable glam-pop star announced his first headlining tour, some expected he'd deliver a wild and raunchy rock-and-roll show.
It turns out Lambert's Glam Nation Tour, currently playing to packed venues across the United States, is a relatively family-friendly affair. MTV News caught up with the singer backstage at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, where he shrugged off assumptions that his sold-out shows would not be suitable for grandma.
"What did you expect, nudity?" he laughed.
Although the choreography is no more suggestive than a Pussycat Dolls concert, Adam admitted that some nights are more outrageous than others.
"Nothing's as planned as people think. ... I'm kind of fly by the seat of my pants," Lambert told MTV News. "It's like a mirror... and whatever the audience is throwing at you, you kind of reflect, and vice versa. If I'm feeling a bunch of people viscerally wanting to grab at me, I'll let them grab at me, if I can reach them. ... If there's a cute boy in the audience, I met get a little ...you know."
Energy from his band also inspires Adam to push boundaries. Explaining Tuesday night's off-the-cuff face-licking with bassist Tommy Joe Ratliff, Lambert conceded, "I was feeling it. He had extra lip gloss on. It looked pretty. It grabbed my eye."
But no matter how revved up the "Idol" star gets — and no matter how many cute boys are cheering him on from the front row — he's learned his limits since causing a stir by simulating oral sex onstage at the American Music Awards last year. "That's for my bedroom."

Adam Lambert Ushers in the Era of 'Papa GaGa' in NYC

A positive review from the Huffingtonpost. They compare Adam to Gaga.
Each week during season eight of American Idol, the judges swooned over ultra-unique contestant Adam Lambert, and I groaned loudly. Paula Abdul coherently applauded his artistry, while the other panelists flaunted over their star in the making. Even Simon Cowell gave Lambert his due aside from a verbal lashing over his exotic misfire cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire." Meanwhile, I grew frustrated at the panel for admiring a man I thought was merely reconstructing songs each week as a gimmick, and was more style over substance. That all changed for me after Lambert lost the Idol finale, and released his first album, For Your Entertainment.
While not exactly the most impressive debut ever (let's give that award to Roxette, wherever they are - yeah, I said it), FYE was a nice surprise - a wicked pop dance record that plays like a 1980s greatest hits collection. Listen to tunes like "Music Again" or new single "If I Had You" and tell me you can't picture it playing in the background of an old school C. Thomas Howell volleyball movie? With his breakout "Whataya Want From Me," and the closet door fully open thanks to a Rolling Stone cover and American Music Awards controversial breakout, Lambert's rapidly living up to the hype those mundane judges gave him with "no boundaries."
Lambert is sort of the male pop star answer to Lady GaGa. As a matter of fact, it's time we refer to Lambert as "Papa GaGa." They both have natural raw talent, dress outlandish, have no shortage of eyeliner, and come with extremely loyal followers. GaGa may have her "monsters," but Lambert's "Glam Nation" is going strong.
That sentiment was front and center Tuesday evening when Lambert took the stage at the Nokia Theatre in New York City in a theatrical laser-shining performance. Fellow Idol vet Allison Iraheta, who should be a star by now, and guitar popstress Orianthi opened the show. Speaking of the latter, there is no question of the Aussie's talent but she needs some more edge.
Dressed in an outfit the offspring of the Mad Hatter and Skeletor might sport and a Rihanna do, Lambert strutted his stuff, summoning the crowd to have an entertaining evening during his hour set. They did, and he clearly did. Whether it was showing off his pipes or his semi-provocative dance moves backed by dancers right off of Scandal's "The Warrior" music video set, Lambert proved his pop melodies have bite and he won't go away easily. Lambert was in top form in New York with a stripped down version of "Whataya Want From Me," a spot-on "Aftermath," and a faster paced seductive version of Gary Jules' cover of Tears for Fears' "Mad World." (How's that... a cover of a cover of a cover!) In a nice touch, Lambert ended the night by merging "World" into a rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." It was a fitting way to end the night since the crowd, a hybrid of parents, teens, and 30-somethings like me, there was plenty of love going around.
While Idol winner Kris Allen struggles to remain relevant and standout in the industry, Lambert has easily made the transition from contestant to pop star. Papa GaGa's next album should push him over the edge.

ET has your exclusive backstage pass to the opening show of Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour in New York on Tuesday night.
It's Adam's first solo tour, but the rocker tells ET his butterflies have passed and he's ready to rock onstage at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square.
"When I was putting together the show there was a little bit of pressure and I was a little nervous about it," he admits, continuing: "The nerves are all gone -- and now it's more excitement. Now it's like, I can't wait to show this to everybody. I can't wait to share this with my fans."
The "American Idol" alum promises his fans a show they won't soon forget, with plenty of songs from his album For Your Entertainment and lots of dazzling visuals. "There are nods in there to Boy George, there are nods to Michael Jackson maybe, to 'The Matrix'... There's a little something for everybody and it's all kind of put together in this big melting pot."
But after setting off controversy at the AMAs last year with an on-screen kiss that Adam now calls an artistic experiment, will his new tour be controversial as well?
"I think that I've found a really great balance of things that have their edginess and they have their sexiness to them, but it's done in a way where I don't think it's going to alienate anybody. It's kind of just right -- it's right down the middle," Adam says.
Watch the video for Adam's thoughts on the upcoming one-year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, and for more behind-the-scenes excitement from his concert.
Adam's Glam Nation Tour across the U.S. wraps up September 21 in Washington. In the meantime, you can help the star support education through the "Glam a Classroom" campaign.
