VH1 DIVAS will be airing live on Sunday, December 16 at 9PM ET/8C, and after having to keep our lips zipped for the last few weeks, we’re excited to finally start letting you in on some of the details. We could not be more psyched to announce that the one and only Adam Lambert will be hosting, and the evening will be led by outstanding performances by the likes of Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland and Jordin Sparks. And yes, the evening will be featuring special and memorable tributes to the late legends Whitney Houston and Donna Summer, both of whom were VH1 Divas alumni.

I HOPE AND PRAY that this show opens the doors to more similar types of show biz gigs. Looka at NPH. He hosts EVERYTHING, besides doing TV and stage work. Once people see how great Adam does on this show, they should want him to do more. He's got it all: looks, personality, talent to burn. So glad to hear this news.

Adam will be a wonderful host for this VH1 special. He is so talented and charismatic up on the stage. I can't wait to see him. And I hope he entertains us with that beautiful voice!
ReplyDeleteAdam definitely said he would also be performing and also that at times he is a Diva too so he will fit right in. I think that Adam got this gig because of Ricky Minor who is one of the executive producers of VH1 Divas. Adam often gave credit to Ricky Minor during his Idol run and it just goes to show that being nice and complimenting people always pays off.

Sounds like a great gig for Adam. Good opportunity for exposure. Congrats to him. It just seems to me that this year's "Divas" are no where near the caliber of Diva the special has showcased in the past. I guess they ran out of names or something. Nothing against Miley and Demi, but they have LONG way to go before they reach Diva status yet they're being promoted as the headliners for the event. Just last year they had Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson, Kelly Clarkson, and Jill Scott. This year's line up really doesn't compare. I hope they are keeping us in the dark about something to make for it.

ReplyDeleteI am not impressed by this list of so called "divas", but am looking forward to seeing Adam as the host and also performing. Miley a diva??? She is more like a wild child. To me a diva is someone who has been a performer for a while, achieved a certain special status in the business, has a personal style, attitude, and self-confidence. Previous lineups of performers fit that definition, not these young ladies of this show. But because Adam will be hosting and performing, I will definitely tune in to watch the show. I might be pleasantly surprised by all of them.

Magnifi scent Obsession would be a fab name for Adam's fragrance! It also was a movie starring Rock Hudson and Jane Wyman from the 1960s. Time for a remake with Adam in Rock Hudson's starring role! Adam is the perfect choice to host, but I have to agree, it's a stretch to consider these singers Divas. None have been in the business long enough. Madonna(arrogant as she is)would be a diva, Xtina, Bonnie Raitt,Stevie Nicks,Cher,Mariah,Cheryl Crowe,Alicia Keyes. These ladies have been around and paid their dues. Maybe these ladies have already been honored and no one is left! lol
ReplyDeleteI will watch the show this year because of Adam of course. The ratings will be big because people love Adam. He will show everyone what he's got. He can host anything after this. The man is intelligent, entertaining and fun. He will be the highlight for so many of us. Three hours of bliss because we now have our headliner singing and hosting. He can sing better than any of them and he will of course.

There is nothing I can think of that he cannot do on stage with flying colors.
Having these young divas on the show would be good for him to gain some young fans.
I do hope ADAM gets Grammy nominations which will already have been announced before VH1 Diva show.
I would like to see Shady be performed by ADAM, Sam Sparro and Nile Rodgers on this Diva show if not the Grammy.
I pray the Grammy will be inspired seeing ADAM hosting and performing the VH1 Diva and ask him to perform as well on the Grammy.

ReplyDeleteHave you read any of the many press articles about Adam and this event. They all say that more artists will be named nearing the time. Its a 3 hour concert, there are a lot more performers to be announced.

Of corse this is real, they announced it on VH1 the buzz yesterday at the opening of the show, for God sake's! Sorry to burst your bubble, Hater! Adam will SING and of corse be the HOST! Adam also said those names were the ones so far, so expect there will be more. These are up and coming Diva's that will also help expose Ad to more of the younger crowd, they are talented I of corse believe adam is far more talented, but these girls are talented. anybody that may think Adam cannot sing Whitney Houston, is crazy and for sure will kill Donna Summer's which is perfect for him! I believe there is going to be more names added, especially if it is a 3 hour event! I do not believe anyone has said Miley was the top Diva, I read just Jared comments most were positive, but there that one tommy cray and another that follows Adam everywhere with ther crap! The majority positive as it should be, there are people on these sites downing these girls, I know Adam will be fabulous because he just is, and the best singer out there, please let's give the's girls a break, sure they will be good, and there more to come I am sure!
