JAK here........I've been experiencing SHADY the last couple days. Every shade of purple red green black and yellow! Living up to a lifetime of accidents I had a terrific fall Saturday........fortunately didn't break any bones but I think I pulled loose every muscle in my body! Is that possible? My husband has had fun giving me a full body Bengay rubdown and dressing me for 3 days! He attempted a grope but my scream put an end to that...but he does peek! I can't handle the weight of the laptop on my chest but I have taught myself to post on my iPad.....I'm so proud of me!
I have not been able to join my birthday wishes to all the wonderful ones for Adam. I do so now. I hope his year to come is a winner in every way. I would drink a toast to him but right now my pain killers are my drug of choice......they take the edge off for awhile anyway.!!!!

Not really OT...jumping in to say that very early this morning I woke up to do what wakes most women of a certain age...got back into bed and couldn't fall asleep...turned on the radio and heard on an ABC syndicated radio program two men talking...about celebrity birthdays on the 29th of January...Kathryn Ross, 73...Tom Selleck, 68 and Adam Lambert 31...so excited to hear his name on the radio couldn't fall back to sleep...another show followed only this time it's a local one where they guess the age of the birthday celebrity...lots of names...guy guessing does a pretty good job with the ages...lots of celebrities born on that date...last mentioned was Adam Lambert...because he was the youngest and the guesser got his age right...31!!!needless to say, I couldn't sleep but got up and watched it snow as the sky lightened into day...Guesser said the 29th of January was known in Hollywood as "Old Curmudgeon Day" back in the day because it was W. C. Fields' birthday.

Perhaps we Finns and our newspapers are "far behind", but it is also good for you to remember that not all people in this world think like American (?) Adam fans. There are other cultures, majorities and minorities in this world,too.-It will be a big concert in Helsinki in March(venue with ca 13 000 seats, almost sold-out!), Adam´s only concert in Western Europe this spring/summer what I know. So it is not quite unimportant what this "retarded" media and people here think. Other countries in Europe were apparently not interested enough.Adam and his music is well-known and beloved in Finland and the media is interested in him. This article had a positive tone towards Adam, but they published the picture and spoke about the "creeky gift". What I wanted wanted to say (excuse my English - I can speak and write Swedish and German better as foreign languages)) was, what kind of consequences this kind of "gifts" can have for celebrities. Adam cannot live his life worrying about what society's most backward demographics think. He has indicated that he doesn't want to either. I agree with 6:29 am, Adam shouldn't live his life by the most narrow minded and prejudiced part of society. If any of us did that we wouldn't have the president we have today and we would never move forward on equal rights. Adam has said he wants to live as himself and he is ok if that means less fans. There is no real issue here. David Arquette did this all in good fun and the pictures are hardly scandalous.

We are tolerant, yes, but on the other side we have a rather "unicultural heritage" and you can´t put a whole nation to sit on a "cross-cultural sensitivity course". And I dare to suspect,that all the people, who live in a multicultural country like USA, are so very liberal and openminded! But, now we have come rather far from mr Arquette and his "gift". Just got the 24-hour flu with chills, shakes, body ache, high fever--but got over it with some rest (what little I could get with a mischievous, unsleeping mother with dementia) and the ultimate remedy for any illness: chicken soup. Make with chicken with bones split to leach marrow that has the anti-infective properties, 5 cloves garlic, onion, smashed fresh ginger, kale, celery, parsley, and some pasta. Thanx everyone for well wishes, I entertained myself with @HH suggestion with "uplifting" links!! And @ atm, even though I don't have the flu, I do have body aches and the soup sounds good! The houseboy (husband) is doing the cooking, so I'm getting lots of grilled cheese sandwiches! His speciality. He brought me ice cream, chocolate syrup and nuts...I would like to say I refused it, but I'm weak....I've had a banana split, a pineapple sundae and raspberry milkshake so far...I must say those along with codeine are making my sore spots more bearable. I'd better heal fast or I will waddle when I do!

ReplyDeleteJust got the 24-hour flu with chills, shakes, body ache, high fever--but got over it with some rest (what little I could get with a mischievous, unsleeping mother with dementia) and the ultimate remedy for any illness: chicken soup. Make with chicken with bones split to leach marrow that has the anti-infective properties, 5 cloves garlic, onion, smashed fresh ginger, kale, celery, parsley, and some pasta.
Now do that, or get your angel hubby to do that for you. You will jump out of bed in no time. See you and get well. atm

BD lap dance was hilarious fun and I bet Sauli was cracking up during... :D Why would the article do any harm? I´m sure the ones who attend to Adam´s concert are not the ones who ´d be upset about it:D Relax!

ReplyDeleteAnd @ atm, even though I don't have the flu, I do have body aches and the soup sounds good! The houseboy (husband) is doing the cooking, so I'm getting lots of grilled cheese sandwiches! His speciality. He brought me ice cream, chocolate syrup and nuts...I would like to say I refused it, but I'm weak....I've had a banana split, a pineapple sundae and raspberry milkshake so far...I must say those along with codeine are making my sore spots more bearable. I'd better heal fast or I will waddle when I do!
