I wonder if Adam sometime in the far future he'll write a book about his life and career. Oh with lots of pictures in the book! Lol

I'm sure Adam will write a book someday. I'd like to see him write a memoir many years down the road, but I'd also like to see him write about other things, too. Like his opinions about things. Social issues, politics, etc. He's really good with words.

And Adam would have been good in Kinky Boots, too. Just sayin'.

Adam mentioned somewhere (the source escapes me but it's out there somewhere!) that he has been approached to do the lead role in "Kinky Boots" on Broadway but it just hasn't been the right time. Pretty sure he'd be fabulous!

Seems like Adam has been the victim of a lot of bad timing. Is Kinky Boots still going on? Or is its run over with? I keep hoping that Adam's timing problems will ease up and he can actually do some of these things he's been "approached" for. Seems like there have been quite a few. It's time to actually GET one!

It's hard to find a more important or prestigious commitment than fronting Queen. I can't think of any gig or situation that can showcase Adam's talents---to such enormous and widespread audiences...as a Queen and Adam Lambert tour can do.

Perhaps we have been taking the QAL tours for granted....or, conversely, thinking that they "get in the way" of other projects for Adam.

Broadway will always be there for Adam...Queen won't.

Also, remember, Adam deliberately decided to pursue a career OUTSIDE of musical theatre, because he found musical theatre stultifying and confining for his art.

Oh sure, probably some day he'll find a Broadway part that appeals to him for a brief period of time, but I seriously doubt he'll end up making Broadway his home...it lacks the spontaneity that is Adam's life breath.

Outside of his own tours, where else can Adam have such complete freedom of performance as he's been given with Queen?

Yes, "Kinky Boots" is still playing on Broadway.. They change lead roles every once in awhile but it's still going strong. And believe it or not, American Idol winner David Cooke (the winner of Season 7 in 2008) is current the lead. Each of the leads has done a limited term as they all have careers outside Broadway, just like Adam..

When I was in NYC last fall, I went to a show just down the street from the theater Kinky Boots plays in.. I really was hoping to get a chance to do see it while I was there but just didn't work out. It's touring too. So maybe someday....

And regarding my comments about Adam turning down "Kinky Boots":

I apologize ☺️ but it was actually "Hedwig And The Angry Itch" that he was offered but turned down:

This article from the June 12, 2015 issue of "Playbill" quotes Adam and his reason for doing so at that time:

LINK: http://www.playbill.com/article/adam-lambert-declined-offer-to-play-hedwig-because-of-eight-shows-a-week-in-drag-com-351208

Excerpts: (by the way, the NYC/Broadway run of the show has closed, but it may still be touring)

"Adam Lambert, runner-up on the eighth season of "American Idol," was offered to play the title role in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, but declined."

"In a recent interview with Queerty, Lambert said, "They offered. I'm flattered they asked me, but it's not what I want to do right now. It's an amazing role. Maybe one day. The thing about it is I don't want to get in drag for eight shows a week."

Hedwig would have marked the Broadway debut of Lambert. Although he is no stranger to the world of musical theatre, he has only been on tour with Wicked and has yet to play Broadway."

Thanks for the clarification of Hedwig. I knew he had been approached for the part but turned it down. Neil Patrick Harris was great in the role. I wonder if Adam has any regrets about turning it down? It would have been a gateway into the Broadway world. It think he would have done a great job. And hey, getting in drag eight nights a weeks is do-able. Actos get into all kinds of complicated outfits and make-up in order to do a part. I guess he just didn't want it bad enough. Or didn't want to be identified so closely to a drag queen identity. Who knows? It's a great part to play. Wonderfully over the top.

One of these days, he'll be offered something that he really is excited to do and the timing will be just right. Seems like he's had to turn down stuff (or chose to) that might have been a valuable role to have on his resume.

Hoping there is something out that just perfect for him.

Haha...Dee R Gee...for a male, getting into drag is a bit more involved than just fancy makeup and outfits!

I have read that gettin into drag involves very restrictive and uncomfortable strapping and binding of the male anatomy in order to give an "authentic" appearance. I remember Neil Patrick Harris complaining about it in an interview. Small wonder that Adam didn't care to do that for eight performances a week... at least 2-3 hours each time! Ouch!

Shaving....everywhere....would be a drawback, too, IMO.
