I nominated Adam...of course. I suggest any voters here consider nominating Roger Taylor for "Celebrity Ally", the same award that Brian May received at the previous awards.

I suggest we make our own decisions who we vote for !!!!

Never know if voting even matters. Never know where these sites take you.

OT
On Thursday I saw "Boy Erased", the movie Adam tweeted about recently. Very confronting. Gay conversion is ridiculous.

Nanbert said...

Unfortunately, our VP, Pence, has been a strong advocate of gay conversion...it's absolutely medieval! No wonder Adam is so concerned.

A bit of history about the British LGBT Awards.....Adam won the "Music Icon" Award in 2015. Brian May won the "Celebrity Straight Ally" Award in 2016....presented to him by Adam!

Here's a link to an article and a couple of videos about the event in 2016.

Rest assured (for anyone having questions about if this is actually a worthwhile nominating/voting opportunity), it is definitely worth the time and effort. It is actually a fully legitimate LGBT awards event, the awards will be presented in 2019 at a live event in London.

The 2018 winners included: See the full list here http://britishlgbtawards.com/2018-winners/

"Global Influencer" Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Atlantic Airlines

Laverne Cox "LGBT+ Celebrity"

Jess Glynn "Music Artist"

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "Media Moment"

There are many opportunities for nominations in a number of categories for the 2019 GLBT Awards. If you chose to nominate, please do so.

And please feel free to make suggestions/share them with us here if you have someone/something in mind. For instance, @Nanbert's suggestion of Roger Taylor of Queen makes perfect sense for sure! He's an icon in British music.

Browse through the nomination categories via the link embedded in this 24/7 post (or in the tweet from the British LGBT Awards also posted) to see them.

How often can you vote?

glitzylady said...

@Sue
Currently they are taking nominations. I appears to me that in order to nominate in one or more categories you must register i.e. give your name & email. Voting as such is not open. So my guess it that it is one nomination in each category per person who is registered. We may know more about it in the future.

@Sue
I just looked up some more info: The nominations in each category will be compiled over period of time (approx. 3 months from now) and then we will be given an opportunity to vote for the ones we wish to vote for.. So, just nominations for now..

The final list of nominations (10 in each category) to vote on should be announced at the beginning Feb. 2019 with the Awards Ceremony to take place in early May 2019: this year's event was held on May 11, 2018 at the Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.

I hope this clarifies the process to nominate and then later vote.
