  3. This is great especially considering the time period is May 2011 to May 2012, when Adam was recording Trespassing.

  4. From Forbes:

Our numbers are based on estimated income from May 2011 to May 2012, before subtracting taxes, American Idol’s cut and any additional fees for agents, lawyers and managers. The totals were compiled with the help of data from Pollstar, RIAA and others, as well as interviews with industry insiders including managers, publicists, agents and some of the musicians themselves.
For a handful of artists, a higher position on next year’s list is all but guaranteed. Adam Lambert toured his way to $6 million in earnings in 2011 and this year falls to No. 7 with $1.5 million after taking time off to record Trespassing. The new album was released after the end of our scoring period, but debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts with 78,000 copies sold its first week.

  5. Adam must have gotten paid well for the special concerts he did in China...Voice of China, Hennesy Artistry etc. which were after the cut-off period of May, 2012, so next years figures will be much higher I think.

Adam's been doing more and more charitable events which are awesome but does he get paid anything at all because sometimes he has to pay for his whole band to accompany him (like the Marriage Equality gig in Washington D.C.) Just wondering.

  7. I thought Carrie and Kelly would have made tons more. Adam's seems right on par with taking time out to record TP.

  8. Each of these top Idols market themselves in different ways. Some don't really "chart" really high, but they make lots of money doing big tours. Some may tour less, but they chart very well. All I can say is, the country music genre is very lucrative. Their fans BUY MUSIC and ATTEND SHOWS.

Some of these Idols have found go good spot as the opening act for someone, or they tour will a group of acts. All of it turns into good money.

I can't imagine Adam opening for anyone, frankly. He's just not the "opening act" type. I pray that 2013 will be a huge year for him, both in sales and in good performance gigs. He did well on this list, considering he didn't have a big tour and didn't sell millions. I think the next list will have him much closer to the top!

  11. Lyndsey's article is somehow misleading. I am sure those nos. will be diferent next year for kelly, carrie, Adam, P2 and others. I guess she isn't good with nos.

For better understanding everybody should read Forbes article. 24/7 should embed Forbes article as a source.

Look forward to participating in any filming
After talking about the 2013 work arrangements, Adam - Lambert 3 at the end of this tour, he will continue to the creation of his new album: "For this new album, I already have a lot of good ideas, and I can not wait to created out of them. "Not only that, this year, the Adam also looking forward to expand into the entertainment from the music scene. Last year in the U.S. drama "the girl lies" Halloween special focus on cameo role of the "Vampire" - Adam Lambert, its the fit role modeling and singing strength, the perfect interpretation of the role. Adam said: "I hope more involved in drama or movie! 2013 I hope to become more busy as a work of art, then I'm happy!" (TG / text)

  17. 10:56 What? Lol, first he will not win and second nobody gives a shit who wins that silly award.

  18. Sounds like a lot of money but doesn't he have to pay his band? and his entourage (makeup, assistant, body guards etc ...or does the entertainment company cover all that?

    ReplyDelete
  19. choons.
This is an estimate of what Adam made. Last year the estimate was 6 million covering the time of the GNT but the ticket sales for that tour were way over 6 million. So tour expenses like the cost of paying his band and travel were obviously taken out

  20. 11:44 can't a person just be curious or should we run that by you first?

  21. Adam id deff not going to like NY weather.

  22. Nooo it has to be more, Including merchandising alone is like 250k.

  23. On that Forbes article it says Scotty only gets 1/5 of his $4Mil. after paying 1/2 to Idol and then paying attorneys, management, label, bands, etc. That's only $800K. Brutal!

Is Adam completely out of Idol contracts or do they still have their hands in his pocket?

  25. I never understood this fascination that people have about how much an artist makes. WHO give a ....? As long as that artist produces work that you like, that should suffice. Why do people need to get involved in other people's 'business'?

  26. 1:16 pm I agree with you completely. But since Adam is very special to us, and his road is pretty tricky, we just like to know that he is doing well so that we can happy for him. I can't wait for the day when he will be so well established that we don't have to worry about him. Just like we don't need to know how much Brian May is making last year, because it's just irrelevant for us fans!

    ReplyDelete
  27. @2:17 - Agree. We 'd like to know because we are happy for him when he has more than enough and not struggling and we worry because we love him and would like to see him at the top.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, also, the money thing is extrememly relevant in terms of what we, his thirsty consumers :), potentially get to hear or not hear from him again. If he doesn't make money, there is a risk to what products he'll be able to put out in the future, very simply. It is very relevant how "well he's doing". I want that third album from him... and I want it to sell because I want the 4th...!! :)

  29. And we want him to make enough for a tour:)
