GLAAD wants to know if you're excited for Adam Lambert Accepting his Award!

  1. Please everyone on twitter retweet this!

  2. Of course I am excited! Anything good that happens to Adam I am happy about and if I can watch or listen to it all the better. He is the first artist I have followed this avidly over my lifetime. There have been many that I have been obsessed with, but nothing like with Adam! I think being able to follow his life, what is happening with his career and look at that beautiful face (and body)everyday, make it much easier to become invested in his charisma and awards for him being his wonderful self are the best!

  6. I am very happy that Adam will receive an award. But I am not on twitter and never will be. I find the thought appalling.
Oddly enough I just finished reading Maureen Dowds column and she calls twitter "the cocktail party from hell".
    I agree.

  7. Could someone please to GLAAD 'on behalf' of all of Adam's fans worldwide who might not necessarily be on twitter. Thx a million to the person(s) that would do this!!

  8. It says 250 re tweets, we need a lot more than that. Thanks for all who re tweeted, spread the word!

  9. I retweeted and added my own "& SO proud" earlier today.

I personally like twitter. I've been on there for awhile. Your experience is entirely up to each person. You follow only who you wish to follow. Twitter is like the real world: there are fabulous people and there are idiots. It is also invaluable in times of crisis. When I couldn't make phone calls to reassure friends that my husband and I were okay during the first few hours of the Boston Marathon tragedy, I sent out a tweet.. Same with Facebook. On a day to day basis I often hear of the latest Adam news before I see it elsewhere. I've met some great people via twitter. I've "talked" to Adam on twitter, which made it worth it right there!! I just got a rely from Brian May. And I've had a convo with Nile Rogers. That's part of the fun of twitter: you just never know who might decide to tweet you back.

You can see Adam's Twitter here and read the tweets by clicking on text ADAM'S TWITTER, which you should find somewhere above the Headline of each thread (probably some ads disturbing the view...) There are "buttons" HOME, then NEW PHOTOS, then NEW VIDEOS and then, voila: ADAM'S TWITTER - at least that's what I have on my screen. Hope this helps!

  21. Adam should throw together an album called "Covers" and let it ride while he works on album #4.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I hope GLAAD is getting alot of retweets.

  23. glitzylady 12:04 I was reading your tweet and Dr. Bri tweet the other day and found it very interesting. Hmmmm

  26. Silly question. Of course we are glad. Of the millions who like Adam, who wouldn't be happy that he has been chosen for this special award. Beverly

  27. GLAAD joy reigns by this well-deserved award to Adam! HH

  28. Gotta agree with Maureen Dowd, twitter contains the worst of peoples behavior and for me the bad still outweighs any good.

  30. I'm not a fan of social media at all. It seems to bring the worst out in people & it's such a time-waster. I joined Twitter for Adam and my Twitter page is protected. I'll retweet GLAAD.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have been on twitter since shortly after Adam started. You make the experience what you want. I follow Adam and many of his family and friends but mostly other fans of Adam's including @Glitzylady; @funbunn40 and many others that I have met at concerts and meet and greets and even several I have met on twitter. I have also had tweets from Adam; Eber; Keisha Renee; Shoshanna Stone ; Lee Cherry and others as I know others here have. Like @Glitzylady said you get news about Adam there before anywhere else because us Glamberts are on top of it and share news as it happens. Great friendships have been formed. You don't have to see everyones tweeted unless you choose to follow them or you can search out particular subjects. Twitter is awesome!

  32. AI judges are very strange, indeed. They gave Stefano L. a standing ovation (he was ousted from AI in the 10th place). Then Lee Dewize (I think that's how you spell his name) sings an original song that didn't sound half bad, but they all just sat there (Dewize won AI a few years back!). How do judges decide who to stand for? Tonight, it was certainly not for the best performance. Strange...

    ReplyDelete
  33. NOTHING from tonight's AI show trended on twitter. Might be a first?? I for one am so happy that Adam is not on that panel of judges. Ratings are apparently falling every week instead of gaining momentum.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I remember that none of the judges stood after Adams guest appearances and I feel that was rude. IMO they should stand and politely applaud for any GUEST performer regardless if they liked the performance or not. To me it is common courtesy. I no longer watch the show but if they stood for Stefano and not for Lee I find that very disrespectful. . . . Adamluv

    ReplyDelete
  35. Agree Adaumluv. Stefan's beyond Mediocre, Lee D is quiet, low key, but very talented. Sheesh

    ReplyDelete

  36. For those who can retweet, retweet!

    NKlovesAdam

    ReplyDelete
  37. Adamluv and 6:37 I agree with both of your comments. It was max rude.

    ReplyDelete
  38. OH MY GOD!!!! (had to write it out long form!). Check out this recent tweet from someone on twitter named @gagaconcert:

YEAH ADAM!! INCREDIBLE! SO PROUD TO BE YOUR FAN!!

  41. Gotta love Lyndsey Parker, after all she loves Adam.

  42. oops I hit anonymous instead of name on Lyndsey Parker link

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Anon 7:38 PM
Its a site that has all of Adam's magazine covers displayed, from his first one during Idol..(Entertainment Weekly) to the present....

    ReplyDelete
  44. I really do LOVE Lyndsey Parker, for sure! And loved her Adam Lambert mention in that article...She is DEFINITELY one of us :))))))) I also agree with her remarks about the show last night...

    Spoiler Alert:

***For those who haven't watched the show tonight and want to be surprised about the results..or just don't want to know until the end of the show..save reading the article until after you watch it...

    ReplyDelete
  45. I read the article. Good for Lyndsey! I think they should just show Adam Lambert footage for the rest of the season and be done with all this manipulative stuff. Ratings are not too good.

  46. Thanks Anon 7:08 for the link to all Adam's magazine covers! It was a thrill to see just how many covers he has graced. I bookmarked the link just so I can go back and smile some more while looking at all those magazine covers. I enjoyed all the different looks he's had - one of the things we all love about Adam. One good looking man for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maybe no standing ovation for Lee Dwyze because his supposed to be original song sounds exactly like Philips Phillip's 'Home" almost the same chorus.
    Can't help LOL!
But Lee was looking so good and his wife is so beautiful.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Lee is looking good and I love the story how him and is wife hooked up.I liked his song alot.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Lee's song was very "Mumford and Sons"...which is super popular right now. It's one of the styles of music that is selling..And we like them at our house. (We have very eclectic tastes which of course include Adam...). I wish Lee happiness and success in his future and congratulate him on his marriage.

You can simply "retweet" like you are familiar with, or you can copy the original tweet, then paste it into the tweet box, with an additional comment of your own: like this...(my tweet from earlier today...as an example)

    MaryMaryQUITE ; ) ‏@glitzylady

& SO proud! "@glaad Retweet if you're excited that @adamlambert will be honored at the #glaadawards in SF on 5/11! "http://glaad.org/mediaawards

In this case I chose to just put quotes around the original tweet but you can also do it like this: Same effect really:

    MaryMaryQUITE ; ) ‏@glitzylady

& SO proud! RT @glaad Retweet if you're excited that @adamlambert will be honored at the #glaadawards in SF on 5/11! http://glaad.org/mediaawards

My iPhone has the option of simply retweeting the tweet, or "quoting" the tweet, like the first example. You can then add your comment to it if you wish. Slightly different process between the standard "computer twitter" and iPhone twitter but same in the long run.

Hope that helps :) By the way, any of those methods accomplishes the same thing, which is retweeting to your followers on Twitter.

  51. As this seems to be the social media thread ;) let's help the Trevor Project get some donations from AT&T and their promo with Adam. AT&T will make a $1 donation for liking this Facebook page:
    http://apps.facebook.com/attlgbtq/

and a 50 cent donation for retweeting specific tweets like this one sent April 13th:

    @TrevorProject
RT this message and @att will donate 50¢ to @TrevorProject for the #attliveproud campaign! http://www.attliveproud.com

  52. If my memory serves me correctly, when Adam did his GREAT performance on Idol of WWFM with the "smoke", none of the Idol judges stood up! I was furious! - please tell me if I'm wrong. Remember, Ryan said, "Now that's how you give a performance!".
I think Adam was a mentor on Idol then. Oh well, water under the bridge. Adam's the winner!nancdruuu2

    ReplyDelete
  53. No one should ever feel obligated to give anyone a standing ovation unless they truly feel the performance warranted it. And why be mad at people who don't stand up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. everybody please get busy on 12:16's comment.

    ReplyDelete
  55. 5:51 that is right, the judges should be able to stand up for whoever they choose no matter whose feelings they hurt and how disrespectful that was to Lee.

    ReplyDelete
  56. so pitiful I just went to AT&T facebook and liked and it only has 2K likes altogether. Let's get busy Glamberts.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Oh the other hand the WWFM performance definitely warranted it, remember DJ on radio saying how he absolutely killed that performance! I do reman bet Steven T. Saying perfect after Adam performance. If you are comparing with the ones that has gotten SO Adam definitely deserved them. He always gives a killer vocal performance . I seen the very average performances get SO's so you cannot go by it on that show , because some that are warranted don't get them from Idol judges and many that deserve it DONOT! The important thing with Adam is the reaction of the Audiance and they are usually in there feet, remember him saying last year WOW at the reception. ST and that bunch stood up for lot contestant's not so much for the other performers Adam has not been there this year and he got the only SO that ever in 8 years from SC say that's most important thing. Sometimes there a bit if jealousy involved. Can't wait for Adam's work on Chinese Idol and the finale. Actions speak loud seems like so far he the only one from Idol the producer's are interested in from Idol to help launch this show! Watched 2minutes of idol so cannot make judgements if who deserved anything. Certainly would not trust much that judging panel did except for KU. I think in about three or four weeks last you will see of the majority of them, on Idol Judging panel! If made mistakes sorry in a hurry ! Sue

  58. 7;26, Lee is an adult and shouldn't have hurt feelings if the judges didn't give him a standing ovation. Since when is a standing ovation required for any contestant who makes a return appearance? Should they still give them to returning contestants even if the performance is crap?
