  3. This drawing says everything I want to say about Adams hair cut and facial hair that I want to say - but won't because I don't want to be verbally beat up!

  4. Not bad, not bad.

  5. Sorry, but this looks like Adam had some plastic surgery gone wrong.

  6. Adam has some very talented and thoughtful fans. Good job. I know that Adam appreciates all the hard work that goes into theses pieces of art.

Thanks to such a devoted and talented fan. As the saying sort of goes, "those that can create, do; and some that can't, sit around and criticize".

Until some can come up with something better; they should zip it!!

  8. @2:40 AM

Not very kind. Are you sure you are not looking in the mirror? Such a nasty remark of a fan's piece of art work.

  12. Reminds me of Joan Rivers. Not a good art form. If I don't like it can say so. I am not an artist, but I can recognize good art.

  13. Is there a live stream for tonight?

  14. There is an old saying- If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. Not a bad thought......

  16. FAN ART is done by FANS that want to express their love for Adam creatively. It takes a lot of COURAGE to put before everyone a piece of art you've worked hard on. And many of these pieces come from young fans trying their skill, not professional artists. Always better to approach with kindness.

I think this a damn good likeness of Adam! This artist has talent!

  17. Why do you assume this drawing was done by an approving fan of Adams? It might easily be someone who is appalled by his present look.

  18. 99% of fan art is horrible.

  19. Good try, but not spot on.

  20. His present look is very handsome. One of the most talented men I have ever had the pleasure to follow. Boy is he proving that with these Queen concerts. Adams face is not shaped like that. It seems like a character of Adam. However I think it shows a lot of talent. Kind of a real exaggeration his chin does not look like that , face shape is rounder and on. Seems like a character of Adam. But it does show real talent. Some people take every chance to take a pot shot at Adam. 2.35 you seem really worried about being beat up if that was true you would not say that crap you said. Adam a very, very attractive man add that to his fantastic talent you have something very special called Adam Lambert.

  21. @8:39 I agree with you in that I think the drawing is intended to be a caricature of Adam. I think it's cool and sexy.

  22. WOAH! How high is his hair!!! O^O

  23. This is 2:35 - obviously I have to explain myself. This drawing is a caricature of Adam. A ludicrous exaggeration of his features or defects for comic but recognizable effect. Of course Adam does not look like that, but the artist has exaggerated certain aspects (high hair, shaved sides and non shaven chin) while still making it resemble him.

Obviously the artist agrees with me that his present look is not his best - as far as the verbal abuse, I was right wasn't I? I stated my opinion and most of you didn't like it. Do take the time to read and comprehend comments - some of you are too quick to attack. I did not insult the artist.

I did not say the artist was not talented, it is not easy to do caricature. I am an artist and though it is not my forte, I recognize and appreciate it in others.

  24. @3:34 you're so right!

  25. @2:35/12:35

You are reading a lot in to the artist's intention if you ask me. Projecting a bit maybe. I know my way around a sketch pad and honestly, this piece doesn't strike me as caricature. I wouldn't have guessed, if left to my own interpretation, that the artist was going for exaggerating features he or she found unappealing or undesirable. The piece didn't "read" as a caricature to me, but as I have no idea what the artist's intention was, I certainly won't attach or assign meaning, motive, or emotion to him/her on my own, or to suit my own perceptions or feelings. I can interpret the art presented before me and express my own feelings about it, but I won't venture to assign the artist the intentions behind the piece. In any event, great skills exhibited in the pic. And btw, no need to be pissy or condescending in your 12:35 post, your 2:35 post was a little passive aggressive ... And it elicited a response, that shouldn't really have been a surprise to you.

  26. 4:43 here. btw, I believe the signature says Dorothy, but I still didn't want to assume the gender of the artist, a female probably if signature says Dorothy ... but regardless, idk, it doesn't strike me "obviously" going for the exaggeration of the "ludicrous", etc ... What I said above. :). Adam has talented fans for sure!

  27. Like @4.43 said, we can only assume what the artist was feeling and trying to project in the artwork, but when I study the drawing closely my guess is it was a "labor of love". Don't most artists draw what fascinates them in some way? I'm definitely no artist (I wish!), but I see a lot of attention to detail. The only parts that strike me as caricature are the high forehead and narrow face, perhaps done to help dramatically emphasize those amazing, sexy eyes and full lips. This would look great on the wall of a big-city loft apartment. :)

  28. Sassy and very cool. It captures Adam so darn well. He'd love this.
Fantastic artwork! I can't ever understand why people are so disrespectful to any artist, especially a darn good one like this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Send it to Adam and get his response because he'll be a loving it.

  30. Who said 'round face'? AH HA
not so. The Glambert doesn't have a rounded face. Adam is 'beautiful' and so is this drawing.

    ReplyDelete
  31. This is 8.39 I did not mean Adam has a real round face. Bit it is not shaped as long as the picture the chin makes his face look longer more pointed than it is. The mouth and eyes on this picture are very good. I still think it is a caricature of Adam and a damn good one. This artist shows a ton of talent. We all have our opinions. I would never run down Adam or an artist that was so kind to take the time to put this out. Yes Adam Lambert is one of the most gorgeous men both in looks and as a person I have always adored him for over five years. We all have out opinions as long as their respectful of Adam and someone that goes to the trouble of putting art on here. I sure do not think 99 per cent of the art fans do is awful as stated here most of it is very good.

  32. This looks like Adam's evil twin getting ready for a Halloween party. He is going as the devil and hasn't applied his horns yet. Me no likey.

  33. This is me, Dorothy, who drew this. First of all, I’d like to say thanks for sharing my work, just bumped into it on here. Of course, I read thru the comments and really had the urge to share my own point of view. Don’t get me wrong: I’m thick skinned enough to face the criticism that always comes w artworks. I’m totally fine w that. Even negativity inspires me. As Adam said about music back on Idol: some people like it, some people hate it. It’s the same here. I won’t stop because someone wants me to do so. I’ll continue because I want to.

To start with: I’m NOT a professional artist. I’m a 20-yr old girl who was given the inspiration to keep up w drawing by Adam himself. I’ve been a Glambert for more than 4 yrs now and been constantly practicing since then. I’ve learned everything by myself. I’m a self-taught artist – even tho I don’t consider myself to be one.

I use art to express my admiration and to pay my respect for Adam. This is my way of saying ’thank you for all you’ve done’. Upon drawing, I always put my heart and soul into my pieces, portraits only work this way, in my opinion.

I literally work my butt off to come up w a drawing like this. I’m mainly into realism but with a twist, it’s hard to explain. To those, who consider my work to be a caricature: I’d never do such things. You may see his hair higher, his face slimmer whatever… That’s just because I didn’t draw the bg and all, maybe because of the different shading... When drawing portraits, I literally copy the main outlines not to mess up the face and the significant features of a person. Every line of his face is in it’s place. My goal is just to make my portraits recognizable. If something seems a bit different, who cares? It’s art, not reality. Art is for creating, not just for copying reality. But I wouldn’t use the word exaggeration. In this case, it’s pretty negative. I would never exaggerate who I love.

Once again, thank y’all for your feedback, positive and negative as well. Inspired to draw more than ever ;) hahah
    xx
