Mi Re La and Sue....I agree, that was the first thing I noticed, too. I've NEVER even heard of Darius Rucker, and had to look him up on the internet. But I'm not into country music, and don't know how he ranks in that musical category, and that part of the country. Still, Adam SHOULD have had the most prominant listing! But, nevermind, he WILL be the most prominant in everyone's minds AFTER the concert!

ReplyDeleteI am just sick that Adam will be bringing VELVET to West Palm Beach, Florida. I was dying for him to book our incredible new GUITAR HOTEL, Fort Lauderdale, specifically designed for rock stars. The hotel in itself is mind-boggling beautiful, and, the new arena, just WOW! Plus, to add insult to injury, Darius Rucker, the main attraction??? This dude is in his 50's and has been around a long time, famous as lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish, about a hundred years ago (forgive me, just being facetious). It is a tragedy that Adam's name is in smaller letters than those of Darius Rucker. Adam's voice is SUPERIOR to his. Well, West Palm Beach is only less than two miles from Mar A Lago, so, at least Adam will draw a very upscale crowd. I live 63 miles from West Palm Beach, therefore, I am going to seriously weigh my attendance to this gig. Oh, Adam, you should have been on the stage of the Guitar Hotel Arena!! I totally had envisioned Adam there with all of us screaming Glamberts trying to get a piece of him. I am so sad. Jean Renard

ReplyDeleteDarius Rucker has been around for awhile. First as lead singer of Hootie and the Blowfish and now a solo star in country. He has a huge following and has sold millions of records. Adam will make some new fans in this concert, people that may not follow him. It’s a good fit.
ReplyDeleteI agree with @Allysa Mentor: I'm thrilled for Adam to be performing at Sunfest. And if his name is listed directly below the "main" headliner, in this case, Darius Rucker, that's okay. Darius Rucker is talented, respected and relatively well known in the US, as a country music singer, as well as in his previous music career as lead singer and guitarist with Hootie and the Blowfish (who I was a fan of, back in the day), a rock band formed in 1986. He's been associated with other acts over the years and is noted for his philanthropy particularly with charities supporting sick and underprivileged children.. In other words, another good man in the music business. He's most likely/probably better known than Adam (as a solo artist) at least in the US, and honestly, it's great that Adam is having this opportunity to, as Allysa said, perhaps draw new fans. Which would be fabulous for Adam. And to be honest, if you check out the other days, there are more than a few bands and artists who are relatively well known who have their names in the same type size as Adam i.e. Melissa Etheridge, Ne-Yo, Nelly..
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info on Darius. I was aware of Hootie etc. but didn't really follow them so I didn't know Darius specifically. Looks like Adam is in pretty good company. I wouldn't worry about the size of his name on the signs. There are other very good names there.

That is really great news about Australia itunes and the overall status of Velvet pre-orders. I am quite sure the fantastic performance QAL did at the fire fight show and the concerts so far have helped. The Australia Bush fire concert was televised I believe. The power of tv. Adam's performances have been off the charts even more than usual this time around if possible.
ReplyDeleteI knew nothing of the Hootie thing. Knew DR was country. Adam was 4 in 86 so he been on the celeb scene quite a bit longer than Adam has. There are much smaller letters under Adam name and yes there are good names in the same size. Adam will kill the performance mo matter about letter size.
I've noticed Adam's instagram followers have been growing lately. Lots of comments. I am sure when Adam gets back and does some television his Velvet Itune sales will spike the power of TV. and it's out in March. Lot of people are pre ordering the total physical album on amazon ect. In America.
ReplyDeleteAdam doing pretty darn well he got a solo Vegas stint and added a couple more shows. I really believe that could lead to more shows in Vegas later. Adam solo in Vegas with his own music, his own show, his master mine putting a show like that together. Pure heaven!
So hoping for a stream for us people who can't go to this latest fest! Jean maybe Adam can still perform at that Guitar Hotel you mentioned for his Velvet Tour if he goes that way! ReplyDeleteSunflower, I'm not going to the Q + AL concert or the Velvet Tour in the UK. I'm not living in the UK. I living in Romania.I only saw Adam once in 2016 at the Q + AL concert when they came to my country.I had ticket in the Gold area (in front of the stage) where there were no chairs and to occupy a standing position as close to the stage I went with 5 hours before the start of the concert.On that day it was terribly hot and there was no shadow in the place where the concert was held.I couldn't go to buy water or go to the toilet because I would have lost my place.

I ran my guide on my TV up to the 29th of March knowing it had been said it would be on Fox on that date. On my guide it said 10.30 to 11.30 the Bush fire show would be on.
This is central time in Texas. Check your listings for times in different areas.
On my guide it does not list any performers except Olivia N J who hosting. QAL were the headliners for this show. Like I said I am sure it will be heavily edited. It was a much longer show than 1 hr. Probably high lights from the show. Sure Queen will be of course on it. I hope that helps you some.

Sam and Adam got started at pretty much the same time. Sam had a big hit song, etc. But unfortunately Sam got into drugs and alcohol and it set him back. He seems to be getting his second wind. I wish him luck. He and Adam has a lot of in common.

Excited about a few things in Adam's IG meet-up. He says that his solo tour will be done quite differently. Wonder what that means? He will have no dancers, but I'm sure his show will have lots of dazzle! This year very full of new exciting things.

ReplyDeleteMi Re La sorry to hear you won't be able to go see QAL or the VELVET TOUR! I can only feel frustration and sadness for you that these shows are'nt going your way! But you did see QAL in 2016, with some unfavorable comfort, by getting there early and standing and waiting all those hours in the heat and no shade! However your persistence and love for Adam and Queen paid off by finding a spot right by the stage! Never say never and keep hoping that Adam and Queen will stop by in Romania and you'll be ready for it! One thing about concerts when they're General Admission , I don't like it because my issue is I get to the venue early and find a spot when tall people block my view, me being short, it makes me cry! Sigh
I have to go to the dr. Tomorrow so will not hear the IG thing Adam's doing. Hope there a video of it here or Instagram. I hope to see Adam's solo tour concert. However I doubt I'll be able to. The last month or so my pain has gotten so bad it has stop me cold. There are some days I just cant keep going especially last couple weeks. I cannot get an operation on my back do to degenerate bone disease. I had to put off a procedure do to the illness and funeral of my stepson.

Sunflower talking about a tall person getting in front of you at a concert. That brings back memories. In 2014 the first QAL concert in Houston I went to with my youngest daughter. This guy turned around and said to me I just want to tell you I am 7 feet tall. The guy turned back around and never hardly sat down. He was very tall. I am barely 5ft and 1 inch. Fortunately my daughter and myself were on the end of that roll. I kept thinking how selfish he was I do not think he cared.
