Queen guitarist Brian May has praised
Adam Lambert's performance as the band nears the finish line of the
European leg of its current tour.
Lambert, who toured with Queen last
year, returned for a New Year's Eve performance before 2,000 fans at
the Westminster Central Hall in London to help kick off Queen's
European tour.
May has previously credit Lambert with
“waking up” Queen after the 1991 death of Freddie Mercury, the
group's vocalist, from complications from AIDS.
“Adam has really transformed, I must
say. And, he shares that with Freddie,” May told Polish site
Muzyka.onet.pl.
“Freddie was always good, but he transformed himself from a singer
who could do this and that into this really sort of god-like
performer. Adam is the same. He's really evolved, hugely.”
“He's much more comfortable in his
shoes. He's much more confident with an audience. In fact, it is
like he was born to it. He's grown into the part,” May added.

Can you just imagine him singing one of the two songs I mentioned at an awards show or somwhere. big.
I am also secretly hoping from what he has said there will be some big and powerful songs on his album that show his voice formmost and not be drowned out with sound mixing,

ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing -- about Adam's evolving. I saw the show in Los Angeles at the beginning of their U.S. tour. Adam was terrific there. However, I just watched SM and WWTLF in Prague and his performance took my breath away. I thought to myself, "OMG! How much better can this guy get??????" The first time I heard SM I sort of liked it but NOW, i want to run over to "wherever" and SAVE the guy when he sings it; he is so into it, I can't stay out of it :) Agree with Jadam; he is unbelievable!

ReplyDeletedon't be confused about the term "boyfriend" in that translation. I am sure it means guy friends or like women say: "I was with a "girlfriend of mine" or I went to the movies "with my girlfriend"
Jadam, We all are hoping for exactly what you said. TOH needs to come out strong with a major single that gets PLAYED. I'm sure the album will have great power songs and some quieter ones, too. It's been a while since he's been on American TV. The only thing better than hearing him sing SM & WWTLF on TV would be for him to sing two of his OWN songs on TV. I think 2015 will be a BIG year.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the translation is just friend - not talking about their closer relationship. Czech language just has different form of word for the male and female version. There is not in English.

Talking about Adam seeing and hanging out with his drag queen friends is not very "popular" on this site.... some kind of denial and phobia there clearly (roll eyes!)
The only drag queens that are favorably treated here are Adam's long time friend Sutan aka Raja and RuPaul, cause she is a huge celebrity and had Adam on her show.
Using 'she' cause I'm talking about the beautiful tv persona/celebrity RuPaul
