Adam Lambert Tweet: "Died Last Night In My Dreams..."

Another lyric from Adam Lambert's upcoming new single "Ghost Town"???!!!!!

"Died Last Night In My Dreams..."

Undoubtedly....

"Ghost Town" will be released on April 21, 2015

  1. From the Google+ account of Sterling Fox, one of the cowriters on Ghost Town.

Died last night in my dreams walking the streets of some old ghost town. I tried to believe in god and james dean but Hollywood sold out. Saw all of the saints lock up the gates; I could not enter. Walked into the flames, called out your name, but there was no answer.

  2. Sounds like some one is dreaming that it's like a ghost town, and he can't find anyone. Not in heaven or hell. No one answers him. All his loves are gone, and his heart is like a ghost town.

  3. The lyrics posted by @Anon 8:19 PM via one of the writers of Ghost Town have been floating around Twitter today..There is some concern re the ethics of revealing them ahead of the official release of Adam's single... But there they are....

We will not be posting them here as a thread topic (at least by me..).. for the time being.. Waiting for Adam to officially give them out to us.. or by some other "official" spokesperson..

  4. @8:19 Ohh, if those are actually the lyrics, I'm going to love this. Poetic. This was just what I was looking for in Adam's music & what I look for in song writing. The imagery & range of emotions captured by a simple, eloquently put phrase... This is what music is about! Loved Adam's work so far, and I think he's grown so much with every album, but I think this will be a big milestone for him. I can already see the growth from the little tidbits we've gotten. Will likely be his best yet.

On a side note, I doubt Adam's team isn't aware of what SterlingFox let out--If anything it's probably planned for the benefit of both sides. Creates more buzz.

  6. Thank you for taking that position on this, glitzy.... Until we know more or hear the "official" on it. And although it doesn't leave a very good taste in my mouth .... (Lyrics from Adam's single being leaked/released by a collaborator vs. Adam himself).... I do hope it ends up working to Adam's benefit such as 9:32PM suggested.

  7. Wow! Those are deep kinda lyrics! This single is gonna be amazing and we haven't even heard the whole melody or lyrics yet <333

  8. Mr. Fox is also a writer on the song. Adam isn't the only one with rights. I'm sure Warner and Max Martin are aware of what is happening or it would be gone already. So no ethics violations. It may all be part of the promo of Adam's song.

I don't think we need Adam's specific and explicit public approval on everything before sharing it.

There are quite a few people here who are not on twitter. They deserve to be aware of this too.

  9. The lyrics are posted here on this thread.. I won't remove them..

I just won't be posting them "officially" on the blog. Yet anyway....

I agree that they're everywhere on Twitter. i saw them earlier today.. I seriously love them...

I know Mr. Fox is also a writer on the song.. It just seems odd that he'd post them before Adam's official release of the song..

It will all be a moot point soon..

We'll see how this plays out..

  10. Knocking at the door of heaven, saints who locked its door, I calling out His name in vain, Jimmy Dean my, once, earthly god, o-ho, I think I and Sterling Fox are "blood brothers"!

  12. But will it be posted officially here?

  13. Sterling is also a writer on the song and all the legal stuff was contracted long ago. People need to calm down and let Adam's team handle the promo of Ghost Town and handle any unauthorized leaks if they even exist.

  15. I can certainly understand Mr Fox likely has rights in this .... And so, may not be technically be in the wrong ... Yet, it just seems a little "off" or odd to me for a contributor writer to leak parts of GT ahead of Adam - the album's artist - and his song's release. (This may be normal in the industry and I'm just unaware?) If it's for promo... It seemed vague to me on what/who is being promoted (specific crediting for the lyrics... are those the actual lyrics on GT? Are they the ones Sterling wrote himself? Or who? Adam has hinted at lyrics ... Yet, GT is his song and It's his album.. so perhaps it seems more fitting to me?)

I don't know enough to form a solid opinion... And I don't mean to sound critical. For whatever his part, good for Mr. Fox ... Credit should go where credit is due... It sounds like an amazing song - many kudos!

I suppose it's hard for me to put a finger on exactly why Fox's leak seems odd to me.... It just does. (It would also seem weird to me as well, if Adam contributed writing on other artist's songs on their albums... And he shared their songs lyrics before they released it).
Perhaps it's a little anti-climactic coming from another person other than Adam (an "official" source). Probably why Shoshanna leaves the teasers up to Adam himself, and won't answer certain questions about GT.
(I'll also admit... When it comes to Adam I am a bit biased ;-)).

Anyway... just my own thoughts. I've made more than enough of a big deal of it, at this point. Had my say. Best to follow the good advice of you guys here and see how it plays out. :)

And really... If it helps promote GT and Adam's career (and other co-writers/producers along with him in tandem)... Then I'm happy about it.

About those lyrics.... Wow. I agree... Gripping, in-depth, penetrating at gut level... and yet, beautifully crafted as well. Rich artistry, IMO. Sounds like it's not only a great groove... But a very emotionally moving one, too.
    -- Exciting :))

PS. Apologies about annoying multiple posts. On my phone again, and my comments appear to disappear. *~*

  16. Didn't that Alexander guy say he would be putting out a remix of Ghost Town? Sounds like promo of the song, and thus Adam, to me.

Yada might be on to something, that unconsciously we want and expect Adam to give us the leaks.

It was just a stanza (is that what you call it in music?) so likely not worth all this worry.

Warner is doing a great job with Adam and this release, so much better than RCA ever did, that I am sure they know what is going on and have everything under control and in Adam's best interest.

  17. Why does the release date need to be April 21? Why can't it be 10th or 16th or 19th or another dated before 21st? All this speculation is hype in the extreme.

  18. Yeah, it's odd that Sterling is doing this. Seem kind of "unofficial," to me, but as it was said here, WB must be aware of it and think it's all right. Otherwise it would be taken down already. I LOVE the lyrics, though. I think the song will be great. Tells a story.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @2:42 I don't think it is a remix. This is what Sterling said in an interview.
Sterling Fox: I wrote a song called “Ghost Town” that Adam Lambert is releasing as a single in a few weeks. I really love that song, so I’m also going to throw out a rock version at some point around then as well – kind of like an alternate interpretation of it. Both should be out in the next month.

  20. If that is Mr. Fox's intent.... From what it seems to me prospectively at the outset ... Sterling doing that could dilute the effective & marketeable impact of GT for Adam and appears to position Sterling as more of a competitor vs. a collaborator. It seems more of a "piggy- back" ing, coat tail type venture, IMO.
.... Otherwise, why put them both out at the same time?

I understand Mr Fox desiring to be successful and advance his career. He has a right to do that as much as anyone. And the way he intends to go about it may be "allowable".... Just doesn't seem very professional (with respect to another artist - Adam) and that his interest is simply to maximize GT for his own sole benefit.... and saturate the market with it. I'm not sure how much it will benefit Adam (or harm his sales) releasing them both around the same time?
As an Adam fan.... I realize maybe: "it's not personal, it's just business".... But, I admit I don't necessarily like it the sound of this. It just seems like bad form to me (though it would likely enhance Sterling's GT sales).
-- A move that would potentially only benefit Mr Fox and give him advantage. That's just what it seems to me without any additional info at this point, anyway....

My apologies for sounding so negative, guys .... I'm sorry if it seems I'm jumping to conclusions. Not my typical style.
Just sharing how I feel, that it doesn't seem right for Adam... Just how it strikes me at this point; until we know further.

I could be mistaken. Hope I am!

  21. April 21st is the official release date announced by Adam Lambert. No speculation about that!!!! It's the date Warner Records chose..

  23. One other thought....my apologies as I don't want to spread conflict or ill-will about this... I know this type of thing has been done before in the industry with hit songs.... Song-writers likely want to get their music out there to as many genres and artists possible, understandably.

I want to stay positive about GT and TOH and the upcoming momentum and success of Adam Lambert. And I will.

.... I suppose as an Adam supporter, from that perspective alone... what Sterling has mentioned in the interview just also kind of rubs me the wrong way and feels a bit dissapointing.

Okay. There. Now for moving forward...

    Onward & Upward! :)

  24. yada, if there was anything wrong... or possibly diluting Adam's impact... Warner would have handled it. That Fox is giving interviews and talking about the song now... not 3, 6 or 9 months ago...tells me that there is a release plan... we just aren't fully aware of what it is...

even if Fox is talking and releasing soon after adam... he is a nobody... I can't see radio playing something like that when we know how hard it is for big stars to get their music played... it's like finding and focusing on the one possible weed in a field of flowers...

I can't backseat drive this release... or Adam's career...

I trust whatever Adam and Warner have come up with for this release...

I'm just going to enjoy the promo of the song... like hearing from those who heard Shosh play the song for them... waiting for more snippets from Adam... what else is in store for us??

  26. For those worried about Sterling Fox and his release of Ghost Town, please see this cap @14gelly did. He said "my version is the original demo..throwing out later in the summer for fun. not a big deal"

Unfortunately the people harassing him on twitter has caused him to delete all his tweets now.

  27. Those are good and reasonable points, 7:45AM :).... Thank you for your post!

Any main concern I have about Fox releasing another GT is based upon who picks it up, or if he releases it himself. If it's another group... That group or artist may actually be a "somebody" and could dilute the market for Adam's version. Fox may not be known... But GT may become a huge hit.

As you've mentioned.... Warner likely has a plan (at least, what may be allowable under law?).... And we will know more as time goes on.

I think I just needed a place to share my concerns... But, I agree, 7:45 until we know more.... Let's just enjoy. :)

    -- Good encouragement - thanks! :)))

  29. A whisper to the Universe....

How about fans taking "A Collective Time Out" from all this too eager and down right crazy behavior regarding everything related to the release of GT. And maybe letting the professionals take care of their business? How about behaving like loyal, trusting fans and sane HB's....

  31. Hi! I posted a snippet of the lyrics a long time ago on my google+ when I wrote the lines. This was before the song had any plans of release with Adam...forgot that they were up there. I post a lot of my lyrics online when I feel inspired to - just forgot that these were up there. So there you go lol...i guess you found a little secret by digging so deep!

I can say for sure that the song is coming very soon, and it's going to be freaking awesome. The label, Adam, and everyone involved is super excited. I think fans will be surprised by the tune. It's definitely a whole new part of Adam that nobody's heard before. We started working on it a year ago and there are tons of different versions and it went through a myriad of changes, but I think at the end of the day, you guys are going to love it and I know Adam would appreciate everyone supporting it 100% when it drops. Cheers!

    1. Greetings, Mr. Fox! Thank you so much for posting here. I hope you feel free and welcome to do more so in the future. We would appreciate and enjoy hearing from you, any time you like.

Thank you for your post and also for taking your time to reach out to us as Adam's fans ... adding some additional detail and clarity (you didn't have to yet, you did; which is kind of you and actually, very cool)... along with some positive encouragement and promo of Adam's single which contains what sounds like (from those teaser snippets) an outstanding collaboration between you two.

Your lyrics in GT are truly intriguing and seem to reveal a moving story in a beautifully crafted way (interested to hear more when it comes out.) And, coupled with what sounds like such a fresh beat and Adam's unmatched voice, I think it will be an epic match!

As you can probably read and tell... We're pretty darn excited to hear more.

Thanks again for your post! Goes a long way with me. Cheers to you as well.... :-)

    2. @Sterling Fox
Thank you SOOO much for stopping by this blog to give us the scoop on what happened!!! VERY much appreciated!!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that "Ghost Town" is going to be positively EPIC (I've seen that description more than once by those fortunate enough to have heard it: soooo jealous...).

Thank you too for having a part in Adam Lambert's new music.. I've been a fan since I first saw (and heard!!!) him on Idol, have experienced his incredible voice live more than a few times, and have been extremely fortunate to meet him. Such a nice guy!!

Looking forward (to say the least) to hearing the entire song very soon!!

Hoping the dust settles for you soon. We are by and large a very **passionate** fandom, as you've no doubt noticed.. And those passions run high when it comes to all things "Adam"..

      Again, thank you!!

  33. Mr. Fox, Does your post on April 8 at 3:52pm mean that previous posts on this and your own site and interview are untrue. Are you going to release an alternative version of the song or not? Whether around the time of release of Adam's single or ever - makes no difference. Your post does not say yea or nay. It might not be a "big deal" to you, but I can assure you it would be a huge deal to Adam's millions of fans around the world.
