  2. Tell me if I'm close. "He is a truly small (chou?)."
"He is a big (chou?) Like he is beautiful."

Haha! I know my high school French has long been forgotten, but please help me out!

  4. "Chou" (masculine form) can mean "cute" "endearing" (plural is choux)

Also "chouchou" a term of endearment

    "Baby, darling, sweetheart"

Also a pastry "round cake with a sweet filling"

A rosette of ribbon used for decoration on clothing

And can also mean "cabbage", which I don't think we would use in reference to Adam :))))

    From https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/chou

  5. O.K..here goes. Literally, "petit chou" means "little cabbage"or "little creampuff".....In French, it is often used as a term of endearment ...like "darling", "dear" "honey", "dollbaby", "sweetheart","sweety-pie", or whatever nice name you're thinking of.

Choons said (about Adam)... "he is a real/true 'little cabbage/little creampuff'...i.e. "he is a real sweetheart/honey/dear/darling, etc.."

I responded.. "He is a BIG cabbage/creampuff"....a joke, because the term "grande chou" (big cabbage/creampuff) is NOT actually used as a superlative of "petit chou" (little cabbage/sweetcake) in that context.... but I used it jokingly as if it is.

Sorry to cause so much confusion. This probably didn't help!!

Then I continued with ..."Comme il est beau!...."How handsome he is!"

  6. Funny... remembering a friend in Belgium calling her husband "mon petit chou"....I always envisioned a brussel sprout....since a brussels sprout is basically a small cabbage (petit chou)! It took me forever to get that vision out of my head! haha

Needless to say, my friend was NOT amused.

Actually brussels sprouts are Choux de Bruxelles....not petit choux. (choux is plural)
