This one is from the Budapest show earlier tonight (Saturday, Nov. 4th). Although the person who took the video chose not to zoom in to Adam for most of the song, you can still see close-ups taken by the tour's video team on the circular screen up top — and having this wide shot also allows you to see a terrific new video sequence on the back screen comprised of computerized images of Brian, Roger and Adam, which are excellent. The videographer does finally zoom in near the end where we get to see Adam interacting with Brian, always a special moment.
While I'm sure many of us folk in America would have loved for this song to have been included in the NA tour, at least we get to enjoy Adam's wonderful performance of it on video...
WOW! Brian takes the guitar parts of this song and just SETS THEM ON FIRE! Especially at the end when he blazes his way through the coda! This song has never been one of my faves, but this version, a little speeded up, and with that smoking guitar, and I am totally on board. Magic in the hands of a master.
ReplyDeleteAnd YES, Adam's vocals were stellar, with all the flourishes and power he does so well.
Couldn't have said it better Dee R Gee - I was going to comment on Brian's brilliant guitar work, but you said it 'perfectly'. Of course, Adam's voice was wonderful, as always. But Brian's guitar added so much! Loved this!
ReplyDeleteI second...third?...the motion. That was perfection. Best rendition of that song I've ever heard. Brian is a genius in it, and Adam?....well, Adam is Adam...magnificent as always.
ReplyDeleteAdam must be very pleased and honored. And the crowd was certainly responsive in their approval. Wow!
Thanks for posting it.

Mirela, thank for the link to Brian's exquisite Love of My Life. There are no words for its beauty and how he connects with the audience. And the first song sung in the local language was beautiful. Love how he does this from time to time in various countries. It personalizes the performance so much.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this a couple of days ago, but wants to bring my comments back because of the wonderful job Brian does with Adams..." said...
ReplyDeleteThe song I personally would like to hear him sing on this tour is "Sleepwalker". It is my favorite song from the DVD for his Glamation tour . He was beyond incredible.
Can you imagine what guitar riffs Brian May could do with this song? I feel the guitar was an important part of the whole song and his performance, well what can I say. It was pure Adam. The end. Thanks for
Bring it on back, the song they just did called What Do You Want From Me. Do it in this version could be a new hit go around song for Adam. Brian sure plays that guitar like a well oiled machine. A master yes.
ReplyDeleteSleepwalked shoulda woulda coulda been a hit years ago. A big mistake by the label, Adam, and whoever else didn't get it out there. It's a POWERFUL song! And an update like what Bri did with WWFM would be a genius move!
ReplyDeleteMirela...thanks so much for the link to "Somebody To Love" from Budapest. It was indeed fine quality.
ReplyDeleteI love this version of "Somebody To Love" being performed more slowly. It shows off Adam's voice.....and not just in the parts where he is already famous for those amazing long, sustained notes.
But the beauty of Adam's voice is front and center from the first notes...when he soars slowly
from one word to the next....allowing us to SAVOR each exquisitely held and tremuloed note.
What a beautiful, true and thrilling voice Adam has! He uses it with such certainty and ease.
Huge fan here of "Sleepwalker". The song itself is fabulous & Adam's performance of it on the Glam Nation tour was beyond epic.
ReplyDeleteJust watched the video again and this time I paid attention to the huge, gorgeous graphics with Adam, Brian and Roger gloriously depicted on the big screen. Love it! It's moody and surreal. But the likenesses are perfect. What a great complement to the song!
