Both are asked to tone it down!

Lady GaGa was banned from performing her suicide act before the Queen last night at the Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool in the UK.

GaGa, a performance artist rocketing into music success, had her harikari routine and its fake blood nixed. She was issued with hurried instructions about meeting the Royal Family but reportedly became upset when she was told that her father would also be able to meet the Queen.

GaGa exclusively told the UK Mirror's 3am: "I wanted to do the suicide scene I did at the MTV Awards but I was told it wouldn't be appropriate. And not only has that been vetoed, but I have had to tone down my act generally. But all of that doesn't matter because I'm a massive fan of the Queen – I was so excited and have even been practicing my curtsy."

GaGa donned a red PVC cloak and wriggled on a piano as she performed the song Speechless at the Opera House. She said: "When I first came up with what I was doing, I said 'Oh my f***ing God. It's fabulous, I hope the Queen likes it.'"
