Adam Lambert's Whataya Want From Me, the top song on this week's Mediabase-powered American Idol airplay chart, moves into the top 10 at the Hot AC format. It looks like a top 10 Top 40 hit may elude Adam, however -- while Whataya Want From Me stays steady on USA TODAY's Top 40 chart at No. 13, it loses several spins.

The rest of the Idol airplay top 10 looks much the same as last week, with tracks from Kris Allen, Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. Daughtry's Home moves back into the top 10 this week, replacing David Cook's Time of My Life.

1 1 Adam Lambert, Whataya Want From Me (10700) (#14 AC, #10 Hot AC, #13 Top 40)

2 2 Kris Allen, Live Like We're Dying (9225) (#13 AC, #5 Hot AC, #29 Christian AC)

3 3 Kelly Clarkson, Already Gone (8804) (#3 AC)

4 4 Daughtry, Life After You (7828) (#15 AC, #4 Hot AC, #22 Top 40)

5 5 Carrie Underwood, Temporary Home (7041) (#7 Country)

6 6 Daughtry, No Surprise (5728)

7 7 Kelly Clarkson, All I Ever Wanted (3325) (#15 Hot AC, #39 Top 40)

8 8 Carrie Underwood, Before He Cheats (2838)

9 9 Carrie Underwood, Cowboy Casanova (2659)

10 11 Daughtry, Home (2649)

Hot AC has gone to 9

I would say it is a little too early to be sure it won't climb on the top 40. I do have to say though that AC - Adult Contemporary makes more sense for Adam since most of his fans are between 25 and 55 years of age. Go Adam!!

Don't forget that Adam's performance on AI may be the first some people with their heads in the sand have even seen him since last year. It could nudge him up higher in the Top 40 from some people that will finally "get it". Have faith!
