As a teacher, I so appreciate adams committment to education. The arts are the first to be cut when there's no money. Very sad. Adamluv
@ Adamluv, Adam visited a classroom awhile ago, donating insruments, etc and spent a lot of time singing and interacting with middle school students while they played for him. It showed his giving heart and his dedication to children. Giving them the opportunity to learn about and enjoy music or any of the arts is a way for him to repay the teachers that taught and encouraged him along the way. He wants all children to have the same benefits. You may be able to find the video on youtube, donors choose, or an American Idol site. It will warm your heart. funbunn40
FunBunn40, Adam visited a school here in LA a while back and I think that's what you're referring to. There was a nice photo and short write-up about it in the Los Angeles Times. Appreciate it when the media does positive articles on Adam Signed, Adamluv
Think I may have mentioned it somewhere else a while back, but he had a very nice local Seattle area TV piece several months ago about a classroom here that had received instruments from him via Donors Choose as well. It wasn't just a quick mention either but several minutes long....was so great to hear him talked about in such a positive respectful manner and the kids were so happy as well. It made me so proud of him, the generous man that he is, and am hoping that someday more people will be aware of his generous and caring heart and soul, something his fans already know and love about him....
Oh Adamluv - you're a teacher, cool, such a noble profession. Thanks for all the great comments above me. My younger child is sport-sy and my older child is Arts-oriented (organized sports - not so much) and 'though they are on the younger side still, in terms of sports programs vs. Arts-oriented programs, I'll give you one guess which programs just got cut more severly than the others in my school district!! And we are a fairly well-off school district... with school districts that really struggle - they probably have next to no arts-oriented enrichment programs. AL GETS THAT so well. Paying it forward in a way that is meaningful to him - not just any 'ole charity for the sake of putting charity work on his resumΓ© or P.R. bio.
