Rickey Minor, the band leader at Idol, has always said very complimentory things about Adam as has the vocal coach. Rickey has left Idol and is going to work with Leno. People behind the scenes seem to think very highly of Adam, I guess, because he treats everyone with dignity and respect. Signed, Adamluv

I didn't know Ricky Minor has left AI. That's news to me. I hope he enjoys Leno's set more than AI. I bet he knows that Ai has created a phenonomen which is Adam Lambert, so he leaves before the shows ends next year.

Paula left, Simon left, Rickey left. There's nothing left in that show. I'm sorry Ellen....

Shirley, I was impressed that Leno got him to be his new band leader! I dont know if he has started yet. The vocal coach that worked with Adam, I believe i read also went to Leno but not sure on that one. Idol will be a completely different show next year! Paula left just at the right time since Adam had broken it!!!!!!!Signed, Adamluv

I don't think Paula left on her own will though. I think she was replaced. :( I bet she wanted to stay on the show but leaving the show was better off for her credibility.

Ricky has been on Leno several weeks.

Adam didn't break Idol. It was the voting fiasco that broke it. It just wasn't right. don't get me started, but people got demoralized.

Paula left Idol because Idol wasn't willing to pay her anywhere near what Simon was getting and she felt that the audience was just as interested in her as Simon. Ricky minor, ex-Idol musical director has been with Leno in the same capacity since Kevin Eubanks left about a month or two ago. For me, Idol is pretty mundane since Adam. Think he raised the bar so high that no one can bring the creativity and excitement that he did. His voice, training, confidence and sexy good looks just can't be duplicated. When you've seen the best you can't settle for less. I think the current Idol tour is having to cancel dates. I feel badly for the kids, but they just don't have the "it factor." funbunn40

I really do think that Adam broke idol. Also the voting scandal was horrific, and finally, I think we are seeing the effect of Paula's absence. She was the one who supported including contestants like Adam who was more original and "out there" as he puts it. Now we can just enjoy watching Adam's career. I doubt Idol will recover.

I actually think the winner[you all know who]was hurt because of the voting fiasco. There was so much exposure it only helped Adam in the end. He has more control, maximum exposure and everything he had hoped to accomplish. He's very happy the way it turned out and very appreciative of Idol. I think Idol has run it's course, but I like Randy and Ellen. Bret Michaels is interested. He might spice it up. funbunn40

I agree with funbunn40 (as usual... :-) ) re her comments about Idol...It accomplished what it set out to do, to discover great hidden talent and Adam is perhaps the last one....and of course, (IMHO) the greatest one... After last year (Season 8) and the excitement that Adam brought to the show, its was very hard to watch this year, and that is reflected in the lukewarm response to the Idol tour this year, the cancelled dates, etc.. I recently checked to see what seats I could get at this point for the show in my area and could get practically front row seats at regular prices on Ticketmaster, something that was totally impossible last year even right after they went on sale. The difference: no Adam Lambert. I asked my husband if he wanted to go this year and he said no thanks...even tho we watched and voted. I feel so bad for the top 10 this year and may just go anyway to support them but we'll see...For their sake I hope no more dates are cancelled, how demoralizing!!! And I do miss Paula very much....she may have been a little loopy at times but always tried hard to be positive, and always supported Adam and his creativity...With Simon gone, I really think the handwriting is on the wall, especially once he brings his new show here...But best of all, they took that chance and brought Adam to us, so doesn't really matter....to me anyway...

zz thank you for that freak out moment! Great memories...fantastic video.

Anonymous 9;09, when I said that Adam broke Idol I meant that he was so outstanding that no one will ever be able to live up to his performances on that show! I thought everyone knew what that expression meant! I guess not or maybe you disagree with that? Signed, Adamluv

I am totally in agreement that Adam 'broke' Idol. After Adam I had no desire to watch it.

Just watched Minon's you tube from last years tour--Adam doing his David Bowie songs and WOW again I have to say I'm in love totally with a gay man. Obviously, I'm not the only one...he has the world at his fingertips.
GO ADAM and keep spreading the love.

To Adamluv, one of the vocal coaches, Dorian Holley, did go to Leno with Ricky. He was one of Michael Jackson's singers and sang beautifully at his memorial last year. And he has had wonderful things to say about Adam as well (of course!)

@Sweetie July 14 7:24AM -

Hey Sweetie - I didn't know that Dorian went to Leno w/ Rickey - thanks for that info - interesting!

I blogged at LA times article and a few other articles online, back at the time of the AI9 finale, about how disgusted I was that AI didn't absolutely ensure that they made time to properly acknowledge Minor's departure from AI... AI had some BS excuse, after the fact, about running out of time blah blah blah, and had something up on screen at end of finale for a blip... despicable - Minor was central to the success of AI - not peripheral to it's success. Have seen Minor on Leno a handful of times - seems like a cool vibe emerging... he's an uberly talented guy (stating the obvious I know) and I hope all is going well with him and his team over there. Again, interesting about Dorian, glad to hear that, thanks again.

Sweetie, Thanks for update on Dorian Holley. Couldnt remember his name but knew he had said many nice things about adam. I think it is so wonderful and important that these industry people continue to praise our boy. And yes, not mentioning Ricky Minor at the end of Ai was unconscionable! No excuses accepted! Signed, Adamluv

Sweetie, thanks also for the Dorian Holley info.I remember seeing him in the Live Nation video and MJ's memorial, but didn't know his name and that he was a vocal coach. He really stood out with his beautifully trained voice. The vocal training really polishes the gem. I also didn't make the connection when I read on a previous thread]yours?] that Idols vocal coach went to Leno. I was confused as I didn't get why the Leno Show needed a vocal coach, but singing with Ricky's band makes sense now. Glad I have his name now. Thanks funbunn40

@ Glitzylady, Our minds do seem to take the same path. I also watched Idol last season and they are coming to Charlotte, but I just can't get that fired up to see them and no one I know is either. I hope there will be enough fans to support them. @ MGF, I was so disappointed at not seeing Adam on the finale, that Iwas 1/2 watching and now that you mention it, Ricky should have had a big sendoff. He did the most work with the contestants and certainly deserved recognition. Always the best info from y'all! funbunn40
