Aftermath #1 in Finland?!?! Wooooooooooow!!!

The minute I heard this song, I fell in love with it immediately! It's a great catchy song. So glad it's released as a single, should be released in Asia and maybe in North America too! :)

Better yet, all over the world!!!

Can someone tell me how is AFTERMATH #1 in Finland when it's not a single?

Do they release all the album songs in that country as singles? I'm confused.

Yes, Aftermath was released as a single in Finland. Adam tends to release different singles for different countries.

Songs getting to #1 (Aftermath and Fever) with no videos to help promote them is very impressive! Do other artists release more than 1 single at a time? Adamluv

So - I need to ask a dumb question here - are radio stations only "allowed" to play songs that have been officially released, by the record label, as singles??? Why can't a dj just play whatever they want?

I do not listen to "commercial" radio if I can help it. I mostly listen to a listener-funded college station, where the dj's can play any damn thing they feel like. It's so refreshing to hear new and interesting music every time I turn the station on, rather than record-label mandated singles, over and over and over, ad naseum. I like being able to think for myself and decide if I like something, rather than having it repetetively shoved down my throat until I cry "uncle" and agree, with the masses, that I like a song.

I guess this is how the music business works these days - but damn, you record-label control freaks - loosen up on the reigns a bit, why dontcha??

OK, done venting. We now return you to your regularly programmed show (soothing, tinkly music plays in the background). :)

I would also like an answer to Adam Fix's question.

I don't listen to the radios at all due to the disappointment of listening to it for years. I listen to CDs.

Briefly, I think most of the big Top 40 stations around the country are all corporate owned by a few huge conglomerates and they pretty much have to abide by playlists sent down from above...they do seem to vary from city to city though. Don't think the DJ's have a terriific amount of control, but I could be wrong..

Thanks to my cousins in Finland.

Confused, when was Aftermath made and released as a single? Or are we just talking about the music from the CD? Clarification anyone!

Heard it yesterday and gotta say Aftermath is excellent choice for the radio. It sounded very fresh. Not sure if it was the album version. Whoever made the decision for this, did the right thing.

I didn't know Aftermath was release as a single in Finland. When? Great news, congrate Adam! At least Adam gets more credit cause he co-wrote it. This song should be play in every country, it give such a great message.

Yay Finland! First in education, first in your excellent musical taste!! Aftermath really shows off Adam's amazing vocal ability with such positive, thoughtful lyrics. Love this beautiful song, sung by this beautiful man! funbunn40

This is truly amazing, given no videos to promote Aftermath or Fever! Hooray!

Also, I agree with Glitzylady. Huge corporations got into the music business after seeing how much money could be made from it during the 70's (Baby Boomers buying jillions of records then).

And these days they "rent" songs for a week or two and play them over and over. On Clear Channel stations here in the Charlotte area, I'll even hear a 30 year old song repeatedly during one week, and then not hear it again for years.

I agree with Adam Fix too, I want to hear new music and judge for myself, so I'm glad there are still some independent radio stations. But so far, its only on the corporate stations that I hear Adam!

I'd say the single version of Aftermath is more powerful and rockish. It is definitely for the Finnish music taste. :D

As an American ADAM fan I feel cheated that the DJs are playing only the songs that THEY deem 'worthy'! I have listened to these Top 40 stations & all they play are RAP & HIP HOP ... ad nauseum. No wonder adults don't bother with these stations anymore. So I have given up! If I want to hear ADAM I play my CD or my computer play list. I'm so tired of sitting through hours of garbage in the off-chance they MIGHT play one ADAM song!! Good for you Finland!! At least you know GOOD music over there!!
