From The Advocate:

A person’s “Googlability” is a modern day popularity contest. Find out who made the cut in our second annual list of the most Googled gays and lesbians.

1. Perez Hilton (Pictured)
In a tight race for first with Adam Lambert, Perez Hilton takes the cake. 2010 has been a big year for Hilton, launching three new blogs, CocoPerez, FitPerez, and TeddyHilton all focused on a more specific market (fashion, fitness & health, and pets). Between the growth of his company, his pledge to stop bullying on Ellen, and revealing Miley’s partying ways, Perez Hilton has landed himself 2010’s most Googled gay.

2. Adam Lambert

It's hard to believe Perez was more googled than Adam. Was it Perez that posted the pics of Adam kissing other guys before American Idol ended? Perez has a put a bad taste in my mouth since then.

Bleh, don't like Perez. No talent just obnoxious.

Glad to hear that he is willing to change his ways. Never Googled him...only Googled Adam.

Hate this "contest"--why are we still putting people in categories like this? It's wrong. We don't categorize the most Googled Jew or the most Googled Mexican. Shoot, maybe we do. While I barely tolerate Perez, he is what he is, and I hate seeing Adam competing for anything with that guy.

Anon 11:36 I think Perez did posted the pics but it wasn't him the one that started it. I think it was Vote For The Worst or someone else.

Wow. Perez has lost a lot of weight.

Hope Perez learned some lessons regarding outing gays. I think he finally realizes how cruel and self serving he was. funbunn40

Did anyone watch MSNBC's most Influential People of the 21st Century? That was such a farce! This was another "flash Adam Lambert's face to get more people to tune in."..not once, but in between every segment too! Well, I am taking it as a compliment to Adam's rising star.
As for Perez, I am glad he is toning down everything...even his appearance. There is a strong movement right now to show a conservative side of the gay community...less flash and shock and more "take me seriously, please" attitude. That is why the suicides were reported in a very public way for the first time a few months ago.
I think this helped to get DADT repealed and has saved some lives in the process. I am anxious for these "contests" to be eliminated too, anon 2:35. Some day we will look back on all this stuff and wonder why it was such a big deal.
Here's hoping we can ALL marry the one we love soon.
Happy Holidays everyone...even the crabby people on other threads :)

I don't think this google thing was a contest, just reporting trends. I think it is pretty interesting.

lmb, I am still floored MSNBC would stoop so low as a bait and switch to get more viewers. Just makes me wonder what other things go on that I'll never know about. My confidence in them is sub zero minus.

There were only 10 slots on the list and so from the beginning I thought it would strange if he was on that list along with presidents and Oprah etc....but I thought they would at least mention him since they used his picture for their promos. They instead showed William Hung from AI years ago ( She Bang).Don't judge MSNBC from this one show, though. They have other programs worth watching...and I did find the list interesting, too -just wasn't something I would have stayed up to watch.
