OT - but just found this quote from Brian May after the EMA performance:

Brian May certainly thought so, saying, "Adam's voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world."

Wow!

I have been listening to Queen and Freddie, off and on today. I was listening very closely, and not to put Freddie down in any way, have the utmost respect for him, but Adam definitely has the better voice. Might be that Adam has had the advantage of years of training, and it shows. Adam throws himself body and soul into whatever he is singing. And yes that coat should have it's own show.

glad Adam working and lining up all these interviews when the album drops. The job of a recording artist is never done.

Whats all this talk about Adam going back to the UK next year.
I hope he does his promoting in the US first.

OT....but nice!

I'm watching an interview show and just saw Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland doing a sound check before a concert....she was singing Whataya Want From Me! Of course that put a :) on my face!

LP 7:24 I agree with you that Adam actually has the better voice. I know it's almost blasphemy to say this when it comes to Freddie, but I love Freddie, too. He's iconic. Adam simply has the better voice. Takes nothing away from Freddie, of course. Too bad Freddie will never hear Adam sing.

@LP and DRG I agree with you both. Adam did have lots of training, but its also just the beautiful tone of his voice. I also grew up with Queen and loved Freddie. He was quite the performer. They are both great and I hope Adam will become that iconic in the future. My gut says YES!

kiss it girl;)

No need to compare imo, Freddie was his own man and had a brilliant career.
I just love it how both Brian and Roger appreciate Adam's incredible qualities and one reason they know is because they already worked with somebody who was powerful and unique.

The Brian May quote above @Anon 6:59 PM was actually from 2009 regarding Adam's "Time for Miracles" from the movie 2012, although I'm POSITIVE he still feels exactly the same way now, and probably even more so!

From Aces Showbiz August 24, 2009..

"Brian May who plays guitar for Queen said he has listened to "2012 (2009)" soundtrack which is performed by Adam Lambert. He got such privilege when he visited the studio of the song's producer Rob Cavallo in Calabasas.

"I was privileged to hear a track that the guys have finished for Adam Lambert ... a song for a forthcoming film, '2012'," Brian wrote. "I have to say I was completely blown away ... it's truly sensational. In fact it's so obviously a number one smash, any bookie would be mad to take bets on it."

" "I am not kidding. I'm not easily moved to jelly by male vocalists ... but Adam's voice reaches out with sensitivity, depth, maturity, and awesome range and power which will make jaws drop all around the world. It's an awesome performance. No doubt about it. The world of Rock has a bright new star." "

It is not a secret that Queen are a fan of Adam Lambert. Earlier this year, the band revealed their desire to recruit the runner-up of "American Idol" season 8 as their singer. However, Adam chose to pursue a solo career and work on his post-Idol debut album. But, he " "would love to perform with them [the band] anytime they wanted [him] to." "

Did anybody watch the EMA's tonight on the Logo cable channel? It was not scheduled almost 2 1/2 hrs of 30 min shows instead, but it was on from 8-to about 10:05pm ET.The only problem was when you DVR it,it cuts off every 30 mins.,but Adam's part WAS on there w/Queen,but the medley was broken up,but still sounded great.I'm so glad that I got the whole show recorded Sun night on the TR3s Channel( I think it was called)w/o all the breaks in it like tonight.I bet MTV(USA) will run the whole show soon.Keep checking, fans.

I agree with @Lizard Eyes. Both Adam and Freddie have/had their own unique style and brilliance. Just so thrilled Adam was asked to sing with Queen in Freddie's absence. HUGE honor for Adam and a fabulous chance for him to unleash his powerful and unequaled voice once again on stage in front of millions, some of whom had no idea who this man attached to that VOICE is!!!

It's amazing that I can actually hold my breath for over 8 minutes and still be alive! To more or less quote Brian May in 2009: I was moved to jelly...

Which of course I'm more or less used to by now.....at least you'd THINK so! Just fell in love all over again..

So overcome with Adam's brilliant performance by Queen, I'm speechless!Have to keep going back to it. The Show Must Go On,kiled me!!!

I'm not going to compare Adam with Freddie Mercury. Different voices but both AWESOME singers, both with MAGNIFICENT stage presence, neither better than the other imho.

Anonymous said...

Why does everyone always have to make comparisons. Adam is truly Adam and that's what makes him so special and totally unique. He is his own man for sure!

Am a little tired of people trying to make remarks over the new album tracks.......Please, we all on this site know that Adam is a genius and the single and album will explode once it's officially dropped. You don't have to convince us for one minute we've been with Adam all the way!

"Beautiful and charming' is indeed the Adam we all know. Funny how it's taken so long for so many people to realize how wonderfully brillant, talented, intelligent and gracious Adam really is. Finally, people have noticed! Adam is one heck of a bloody incredible man!

I like the British people because they a not jealous like the Americans and Germans.

Anonymous said...

I mean that Adam should let the British do his promoting. If he let Americans or Germans do it, it'll go wrong.

For Christ sake!! What's wrong with that girl!! How could she not kiss thouse lips!!!
