Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert celebrated his big 30th birthday yesterday! Last year, Adam and his fans raised $323,803 to bring clean water to over 16,000 people. How does he plan to top that? Yesterday he tweeted, “Today is my birthday, and for my 30th I’d like you all to help me change the world…Let’s use birthdays to raise $1 million this year for @charitywater 100% directly funds water projects: charitywater.org/adamlambert.”

This year is shaping up to be a huge one for the superstar. He is set to release his highly anticipated sophomore album, Trespassing, on March 20th. The debut single off the album, “Better Than I Know Myself,” was released December 20th and hit mainstream radio last week! The track debuted at #76 on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 7th. Ten days later, Adam performed BTIKM on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The music video for “Better Than I Know Myself” will premiere this Friday, February 3.

Since the release of Adam’s debut album For Your Entertainment in 2009, it has sold over 1 million copies worldwide. Adam was nominated for a Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for “Whataya Want From Me” in 2010 and also released the Glam Nation Live CD/DVD and Acoustic Live! EPs. He is first American Idol to ever tour the world in support of their debut album in the year following their Idol season. In November of this year, Adam took to the stage in the finale of the MTV European Music Awards to sing lead vocals with Queen, who were being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Their captivating performance is widely regarded to be the highlight of the entire EMA ceremony and an indication of the outstanding years ahead in the career of Adam Lambert.

OMG! He's in Zell am See! That is so significant to me. My mother was born in that city. It is so beautiful. I've just been able to go there this past summer and meet my family (I'm 44). I so hope he was able to see this beautiful and serene place. The lake (See pronounced say) is glacial and clear. The view from the Schmittenhoe is majestic and picturesque. It's an hour and a half from Salzburg, which should be on everyone's bucket list, and the drive there is something out of a storybook.

BTW, the 44 yr old is justpeachy.
