Adam Lambert Featured on MSN's 'The Pop World's LGBT Pioneers'

In honor of Gay Pride Month, MSN showcased a gallery of key artists through the decades. Here's what they wrote about Adam....

Adam Lambert

Few put the "loud" back in "proud and loud" like pop music sensation Adam Lambert. After finishing second on the 2009 season of "American Idol," the Indianapolis native released his debut album, "For Your Entertainment," and then caused controversy at that year's American Music Awards when he grinded, kissed and otherwise fondled members of his band. After right-wing organizations protested, he rolled his eyes, thumbed his nose at them and showed exactly no remorse. Not messing around, this guy!

The AMA's is the best they can come up with!?! That's just plain stupid IMO. Adam has done so much in support of the gay community. I agree old news.....moving on.

USA media loves "dirt" & unfortunately "dirt" sells:(
So sad :( what to do , see what's on TV lately, ridiculous reality shows!
Really insult to our intelligence!
all about what sells right!

Adam fans knows better:)
Yes, moving on to bigger things for Adam !!!

I don/t remember any nose thumbing.
Perhaps they think to be a "pioneer" you have to be rude.

anon 10:07 Amen to that! How about his real contributions and awards received by the gay community? Equality California Award, PFLAG National Award for standing up and being his authentic voice? Remix of Aftermath to go to Trevor Project, It Gets Better Campaign, writing meaningful songs about his life..oh, I could go on and on. Oh, and first openly gay to have #1 album.
Sorry for the rant. I will be a Glamber forever for so many more reasons than listed here!
Love our Rock God...just wanted him respected. Jeez!

@nilerodgers I could probably make montreaux happen

Nile Rodgers ‏@nilerodgers

AMA's Gay Gay Gay, both should be deleted from media news.

OH MY GOD!!! MY DREAM COME TRUE! NILE RODGERS, SAM SPARRO AND ADAM PLAY TOGETHER AT MONTREAUX!
I hope Adam's management can make that happen! Looks like Sam is IN!!!
Thank you Nile for kicking up the dust on this one.
HOPE IT HAPPENS!!!!
Can you imagine that concert? That is a 24 hour party starting UP!!!!!

Nile, Sam and Adam. Can't get any SHADIER then that sexy trio!!!
That would be more crazy exposure for Adam. Great annual concert with the best of the best!

Just voted a bunch for Musique. Thanks for keeping the links on each thread. It helps! Yes, too bad the LGBT Pioneer thing emphazied the AMAs instead of Adam's positive support of the LGBT community. Oh well. They know what gets people's attention.

I REALLY hope the timing works out at some point for Nile and Sam and Adam to perform Shady together. I LOVE THAT SONG! Sounds like Nile and Sam really want to do it. Adam is so booked up, though, he may not be able to squeeze it in. Sometime soon, I hope.

Adam is doing 3 concerts with Queen that week July 11,12 and 14. I don't think he will have time to rehearse and be at his best for July 13th.

i agree with 12:55pm. no more pressure. it's bad enough adam has to fly back and forth for the CA concert....jet leg is not necessary this month and he has alot riding on the London shows.

Adam won't be able to join Nile Rogers and Sam Sparro at Montreaux:

Nile Rodgers ‏@nilerodgers
I'm gonna hit Adam up now. Many people are flying in and out for the day. London is easy, but he may want to rest his voice. Thx

Adam's reply:

Adam Lambert
‏@adamlambert
@nilerodgers yo! Doing my run w @QueenWillRock at London's Hammersmith Apollo that week! Shady has to happen sometime though! It MUST

Personal note: I would LOVE to see them do #SHADY on some high profile US TV show...for instance, the Grammy's or the AMA's. Perhaps wishful thinking on my part but what a perfect and amazing performance THAT would be!!! Nile Rogers is legendary in the world of music and I think its high time they honor him for all of the amazing work he has done over the years. And performing with Adam and Sam Sparro would be, well, the best of all possible worlds... : ))

@glitzylady

Same as I was thinking that some awards show would be the best for the Shady performance but Nile seems too hot to do it ASAP and both AMA and Grammy is 6-7 months away.

I second that Nile should be given some recognition for his contribution to music. He got no awards nor nomination for the Rock Hall of Fame or whatever kind of acknowledgment for his genius.

I loved disco and Chic and Sister Sledge had the classiest disco tunes. Didn't know he was behind many hit song of the late 70's and early 80's, for example Madonna's Material Girl. I can't imagine Adam doing a high profile performance with Tommy.

Nile is very ill he may not have months. It would be great to do this for him as soon as Adam and Sam are available.

Anonymous said...

The question is, if Tommy was famous would he hire Adam?

Anonymous said...

I can't imagine what Tommy would ever be famous for. ?

Adam is very appreciative of friendship and loyalty, but Tommy is never going to be a great guitarist
and I think Adam needs one.

Why did this subject come up again?

Nile is a cancer survivor and while he is doing reasonably well, one never knows what may happen tomorrow....He continues to perform internationally and has such a positive outlook on life.. He has good days and not so good days. I follow him on Twitter and sometimes read his blog. Its always interesting because he has worked with the greats in music, not to mention he is one of those "Greats" himself. I admire him and am so thrilled that he is a big fan of Adam, and Adam has had the opportunity to with Nile...and vice versa!!

His blog, "Walking on Planet C" can be seen here. This is from 2010 when he was first diagnosed....

Nile, Sam and Adam could do Shady together in Europe,as soon as they are able to comfortabley schedule it. There is no reason why they couldn't do it AGAIN on the Grammys or the AMAs, right? Why not? If Nile is in good health at the time, it would be an EPIC American TV performance.

DRG (voting on many things, including the Mid-Year Billboard Awards.)

Tommy adds alot to the band. I certainly am glad we don't have Monte still playing guitar. He hogs the stage and looks to old for this hip bunch. He is a nice guy though.

Anonymous said...

Like what for instance?

Anonymous said...

It would be nice for Adam and Nile to play anywhere. An event like Montreux would expose Adam to a different audience and pick up some fans. I can see it happening and the sooner the better, though
I doubt they will be jamming on an award show without massive exposure for the song first.

You know, I love Tommy but the continual harping over whether he's there or not is getting to me, especially the insinuations that Adam doesn't appreciate him enough. Business is business and Adam has to do what he has to do.

I wish that Tommy would do what Monte and Isaac and most successful musicians do: connect with as many bands as possible. Adam will have tour years and fallow years. In between, a guy's gotta eat. That is the music business: no guarantees.

Anonymous said...

Same ol' same ol' AMA hoo haa. What a load of bollocks! Adam has done so much good for the LGBT community which is hardly ever mentioned, and droning on about Tommy never achieves anything positive.

Anonymous said...

Bring on Adam, Nile and Sam performing Shady together, hopefully at some stage in the not too distant future. That would be soooooooooo AWESOME!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Monte was mediocre at best. Tommy has yet to rise to that level. All that would be needed for a magical performance is Shady done by Adam, Nile and Sam.

GNT was one tour with theatrics and fans needing the Adommy thing which I never could understand. That bus has left the station.

Before the rock throwing begins, let me say I agree with you.
