Every blogger, every reviewer, every fan has their own favorites from this album. This is the sign of a great album when every track is a favorite of someone. Should be Album of this Year if there is any integrity when it comes to handing out the Grammy.

Have been waiting for Adam to get on the Graham Norton show, love that programme, Graham is such a good host I think they'll get on well. And it sounds like he will be singing too.

Trespassing is being released in Japna next week, June 6. Sounds like there is some good promo going on! Hope the album sales are good! Adam had good support in Japan last time.

I'm not familiar with Graham Norton, but it sounds like he's got a popular show. So glad to see Adam will be on it! I have a feeling that the UK promo tour will be very positive.

Wonder if Adam will meet up with Sauli when he's in the UK. I know Sauli is busy in Finland, but many they'll have a chnce to get together.

Read this glowing review from someone who does not know ADAM.

Adam has created a greater international presence than any Idol contestant to date (possibly barring Kelly Clarkson). What he lack in success in the American market, he seems to be more than making up for in other countries. Most former idol contestants have made their careers on the strength of mainly North American sales. Few, if any, have been as successful overseas as Adam. Besides, there are plenty of certifiable international music megastars who 8 out of 10 Americans probably wouldn't even recognize. Hopefully America will catch on soon and he can enjoy being a superstar in his home country, but, if things keep going the way they have been, he wont need them to make or break his career.

The Graham Norton Show is one show i love to watch on BBC. He is such a smart, witty, humorous and very sharp host. The whole show is all fun, fun, fun, So happy to know ADAM would show up in this show. I have wondered before and wished that ADAM would be invited in by Graham. So looking forward. It will be a hit.

I somehow see the scenario that Adam will be more embraced outside of homophobic America. After which America will follow suit. Nobody among the idols has a headlining tour outside of US right after Idol on the strength of his first album except Adam. kelly only toured last year outside of US as far as I know. So, it's true Adam has more presence outside of US than any Idol.

I really enjoyed this interview of Adam in Montreal. They asked questions that allowed Adam to delve deeply into his thinking and feelings, both past and present; and his inspirations with regard to the making of his new album Trespassing like how the darker songs natural lapsed into the brighter, more upbeat songs on the album. In his other interviews he did not elaborate on how that transition took place with such intimate details. Got some new Adam insights in this interview, quite fun at the same time. He seems less guarded and having more fun here...in short, more him. :)

Adam was on a fun program in the Uk awhile back wwhen this girl said she could turn him straight and he said not unless you have something hiding under that skirt. Does anyone remember his name? very good program and audience.

Glad to hear that the Graham Norton show is a BIG show in the UK with A-list guests. Can't wait to see it? Adam's day on the show will be really close to his gigs with Queen so I'm sure he will talk about that, along with other things. He's SUCH a great guest! Adam's impact in the UK will be much greater this time around, IMO. Looking forward to an interesting couple of months with Adam.

@6:20- I totally agree, I think adam is going to be so much more excepted internationally! I wouldn't blame adam if he moves. I'm disgusted by the way most of U.S. has embraced this talent of the decade. I'm from U.S. and frustrated isn't even the word anymore. Adam's 15 songs are all better than any song that is played over and over on U.S. crap radio (exception I do love Goyte- hit song however and a few others. But that's it!!

Yea, good interview; it's to the point and none of that fluff and hype about his sexuality. I like interviews that concentrate on his thoughts, ideas and vision within his realm of expertise rather than beating the dead horse. I particularly like what he said: "OK this guy has ideas. He has a vision." ...when he got to the end of AI. And also before AI when he did demos, they would ask: "Can you sound like this, can you sound like that?"...as if he were some kind of sona-machine; though in his own way, he is a sona-boom! LOL! :)

Sorry if this was already posted, but here is a great non-fan review of Trespassing that is not to be missed:

Written by Laura Hamlett

This goes far, far beyond guilty pleasure.

The press release arrived in my inbox, same as hundreds of others. It contained a link to a stream of the new Adam Lambert CD, Trespassing. I am not a reality TV fan; I had never so much as heard Adam Lambert before. (To say I’m a bit of a music snob—or was, anyway—wouldn’t be far off the mark.)

On a lark, I decided to click it; I just wanted to see what he sounded like.

I didn’t expect to fall in love.

From the get-go—the über-catchy title track—I was hooked. The song begins with group vocals and hand claps, buttressed by a steady, addictive beat. And Lambert’s vocals? If you (like much of America) have already been exposed, you know how sublime his voice is: straight out, falsetto, full throttle, controlled scream—really, he can do it all.

Following “Trespassing” is “Cuckoo,” another high-energy, dance-floor tune that turns the levels up another notch. With perfect dance-pop sensibility, it’s all you need to be caught Trespassing—hook, line, and sinker.

“No, I ain’t broken/ but I need a fix,” Lambert admits on “Shady,” a funk-filled tune featuring Nile Rodgers and Sam Sparro. Mmm…tasty. The soaring “Never Close Our Eyes” (which, I’m told, is the first single) finds Lambert’s R&B-tinged vocals rising over a bass-heavy keyboard line: “Why can’t we just live life with no consequence/ and always live life in the now?” Sort of deep for a simple pop song, if you think about it.

And then there’s “Kickin’ In.” I can’t say enough about this song; it completely kicks my ass. Heavy ’80s vocal influences (stuttered, repeating, modified) mixed with a rapid-fire refrain delivery and nonstop, dance-inducing beat make this one of the best party songs you’ll hear all year. Lambert’s high-pitched, full-throated “No, no, no” is the cherry on the sundae.

daydreamin said...

Part 2:

“Naked Love” keeps the party going in fine form before giving way to “Pop That Lock.” This one’s right up there with “Kickin’ In,” so perfect an ass-shaking pop song it is. Techno-heavy keyboards drop off to Lambert’s lightly backed vocals before the full-throttle refrain kicks in. The artist’s ruby-throated vocals following an instrumental bridge are most impressive.

With some albums, my interest sometimes flags when the slower songs kick in, but that isn’t the case here. Lambert’s vocals continue to captivate; I find new things to appreciate with each successive song—and repeated listen. The mellower “Better Than I Know Myself” leads into a slightly more upbeat “Broken English,” which finds Lambert singing his truth: “Tower of Babel has fallen down again/ information disarray/ I don’t know who I should believe in/ everyone’s an authority.”

“Underneath” plays like Trespassing’s anthem: personal, meaningful, vocal-driven, and textured. “Everybody wants to talk about a freak,” Lambert admits; “No one wants to dig that deep./ Let me take you underneath.” When he reaches octaves higher to command, “Look at me/ Do you see?” you want to do nothing else but oblige.

Slow burner “Bring It on Back” is another vocal showcase, a fact especially obvious in the bridge. Lambert slips into an easy falsetto on the refrain to “Outlaws of Love,” delivered gently and with heart-on-sleeve feeling. “Chokehold” is insinuatingly catchy, its slow burn bordering on sexy. (And that’s before you get to the lyrics.)

The lovely ballad “Outlaws of Love” bursts into a controlled bloom on the refrain, giving way to voice play that’s eerily reminiscent of Jeff Buckley. “Smoldering” aptly describes “Runnin’”; somehow, despite Lambert’s soulful and flexible voice, it stays in check—but just barely. But the chains come off on “Take Back,” which again boasts techno-flavored keyboard strokes and the full range of the ex-Idol’s vocal prowess.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and Trespassing does so with “Nirvana.” Fittingly, Lambert ties it all together with another ballad, complete with uplifting lyrics: “When the stars are too cold/ Frozen over the glow/ On the edge of the night/ We can be their light.” And now it’s time to press “repeat.”

This goes far, far beyond guilty pleasure. In fact, Trespassing dominates my most-played list on Spotify (as my husband was quick to point out). Pop music aficionados, you already know what I’m talking about, as Trespassing debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts. As for you, fellow music snobs: Go ahead. Give in. You have permission to hold your head up proudly while you give in to the oh-so-perfect Adam Lambert groove. A+ | Laura Hamlett

I am not familiar with the UK show (hope it has a lot of audience on tv), but if it's half as good as Justin Lee Collins I just watched (thanks for the link SS!) it's gonna be fun :) I have to say I really enjoyed watching this :D The host was such a fun guy - British humor often gets me if I get it (language barrier... :). Adam certainly had fun himself too! He is such a great guest in shows like this.

I have to say I have really enjoyed watching all the interviews and fan meetings in Canada. Not focusing in gay talk, more appreciation for his work and personality.

Some of them likes younger like them....

Some of them just doesn't want to hear real talent ......

Most of all they don't like unique and different from them.....

That's why all the worldberts in the world are the real people ha!ha! ha!

How about that and they can suck it up!!!!:))))

@Anon. 6:20 PM
According to wikipedia, Kelly Clarkson has toured the world 4 times and has an Australian tour this year which may be part of of another world tour(?). Her first world tour was in September 2003.

Carrie Underwood is touring Down Under for the first time this year since she won Idol. Chris Daughtry has also had a concert tour in Oz.

I'm not a huge Kelly Clarkson fan but I like her 3 singles off her Stronger album and she's popular in Australia. Not a fan of Carrie Underwood and Chris Daughtry.

Adam is the only Idol alum who has toured the world on the back of his debut album which I adore.

The Graham Norton show is great. So looking forward to see Adam on this show. :)

LYRICS from the beginning of "By The Rules"

U are my lava
My lava flow
Burn like no other
Right thru the core
Just like the constellations we shine
No wreck or ruin our Planets Align

The tide and the moon we are
U pull like the sea
In waves I can feel ya
You're My ecstasy
The lamb and the lion
We lay down in peace.
Like air to the fire
I need U to breathe...

Oh my, this carries me and my mind (plus body & soul) to the same white sandy beach, where I've danced to Naked Love with a summery drink in my hand and a flower in my hair...BUT now I'm dancing after sunset and...letting nature have its way...UNF!!!

Love the sound of By the Rules. It also addresses the issue of forbidden sexuality.

I agree that the top music videos are lame in comparisoon to Adam's. But the people viewing those other videos so many times don't even THINK about Adam. He's not even on their radar, so why would watching his video even occur to them? They only pay attention to the singers that are shoved in their faces on radio, etc. and they know about them. Quality means nothing.
All we can do is keep playing the NCOE video. What other choice is there? And requesting NCOE, too. Trespassing made it to #1 on BB on the backs of a relatively small U.S. fanbase and with little radio support. And it still made it. Adam is working his ass off to promote himself and his music. He's not giving up or letting up. It's his life's work. I feel as frustrated as the rest of you. But keep in mind that he is not a failure by any stretch of the imagination. He's known world-wide and has the respect of MANY top names in the business. This is not failure. If we'd believe those few nagative posters who come here now and then, we'd believe that the only singers worth supporting are those who are in the top two on the charts all the time. Anyone below that must not be worthy of our attention, because they're not "successful" enough. BS! Many legendary artists didn't have the highest commercial success for a long time before they got the respect and the attention of a clueless public who finally discovered what they had been ignoring for so long.

Just had to vent a little. Sorry.

The Graham Norton show usually gets around 4-4.5m viewers per episode, which apparently if you work it out percentage wise is the equivilent of a programme getting around 20m viewers in the US, Its also played in other places, I know its on Asian TV, although we're a couple of weeks behind.

Have listened to by the Rules a couple of times and its already growing on me, seems to have a slight Caribbean hint to it.

It's so true and encouraging!

I sometimes wonder is the music field these days more like fashion - something is fashionable and to be cool you have to listen to the "right" artists? But fortunately there are many people who listen to what they really like, no matter what other people think.

I love the fact that Adam has so many fans around the world - we have different kinds of backgrounds but his affect on us is quite similar.

Come on, do you guys really like "By The Rules"?

Honestly?

Anonymous said...

@2:07PM I don't like it. It's boring. Thanks Lord Adam didn't include it in US version of "Tresspassing"!

Anonymous said...

@ 2:07, yeah, I Like it and I believe anyone else who says they like it. The whole vibe just works for me and it leans more toward a genre of music that I enjoy and a style I haven't heard from Adam before. I think people who purposely seek out a fan site, read the posts, and comment on on it with the benefit of anonymity are probably comfortable enough to tell the truth about what the think. You're question seems a bit rhetorical as the answer is exactly what you've read. If they say the like it, then they probably "really" "honestly" like it. Why bother pretending if you don't? It's fine if you don't like it, that's just the nature of music. it's subjective. No worries either way

Anonymous said...

@7:28, you're right, it was a rhetorical question. And the reason I asked it is because I think that his OTT fans like ANYTHING he sings, even if it's awful. And that's ok. That's called being a true fan. But that type of fandom only leads to disappointment. If you feel that way about everything he puts out, then you tend to be verry disappointed when the rest of the world doesn't feel the same. Some of you guys fell that Trespassing is the best Album of the year. A lot of people don't. I don't. I think there is only one hit worthy song on there - and it's not the two he's already released. And apparently others agree with me, because they both have not done as well as they could have. The songs are boring and generic. But if you guys like them, that's great. Just don't stomp your feet and yell when others don't. Why can't you just enjoy Adam's music for what it is and not insist that the whole world does, too. I like a lot of artist that a lot of people have never even heard of. I don't care. I seek out their music and enjoy it. I like a lot of Adam's songs. Not every one of them though. The one song I like from Trespassing, I bought individually. I don't mean to make anyone feel bad. As a matter of fact, I hate to see his fans disapppointed if Trespassing doesn't do as well as they think it should. Why should you care. If YOU like it, then that should be enoght.

Anonymous said...

Sorry for the typo's in the above post.
Once again, I don't mean to make any fan feel bad. I just don't understand why you guys seem to care so much about insisting that others like him as much as you do. If you don't feel that way, I apologize. It just appears that way.

glitzylady said...

@Anon 8:54 AM
So....hmmm...Interesting comments.
Are you saying that only "Over The Top Adam Lambert fans" like Adam's new album, Trespassing???? and consider it to be a great album, filled with fabulous tracks, and perhaps several hit singles (if given some fricking RADIO PLAY so that people can HEAR them and judge for themselves).. Again, Hmmm....I have to disagree with you that there is only "one good song on it", but that is certainly YOUR right and YOUR opinion to say so.

And you say that Adam Lambert fans "like ANYTHING he sings, even if it's awful." Please. Again. I have to disagree. Yes, I'm a long time ("OG") fan, I love his new album, but I don't "like everything even if its awful". (By the way, would you mind telling us which songs you consider to be "awful"?? Again, it is your right to have an opinion, and if you feel that way, okay, but I'm curious to know what you think is "awful"). I have to admit, for instance, that "By The Rules" is not my favorite bonus track on his album (the UK and Japanese version..so its not on my US Deluxe version anyway..) but I would certainly not label it "awful". Just not one of my favorites, at least at first listen. Seem most fans love it. To each his own, as the saying goes. Personally, I have yet to hear any song he has ever sung that I would consider to be awful..well, except maybe a couple of his early songs from another era, on a certain "other" non-Adam-sanctioned album that are not my favs either, and apparently neither are they Adam's, and not up to his standards of his music currently., or his current style of music...but I digress....Because we are talking Trespassing, the album, here.

There are many music critics around the world who would also disagree with your assessment of Adam's music. TRESPASSING has gotten MANY good to excellent reviews, and not just in blogs such as 24/7 from "OTT fans". Rolling Stone magazine loved it. As do many other music sites, too many to discuss here, from respected music blogs and others. You certainly do not have to agree with any of them..

Adam has many fans, and not just us lowly "everyday" and "OTT" Adam Lambert fans who praise and love his music (and Adam himself), and many in the music industry do as well. And elsewhere. The two singles released so far ARE worthy songs in my opinion, particularly "Never Close Our Eyes" which, had it been released by the writer, Bruno Mars, would have, I strongly suspect, been a radio hit that would have gotten major and instant play on Top 40 radio. It is neither boring or awful, in my opinion. I have a 13 year old in my family that loves it, knows all the words, and sings along...And I don't force her to listen to it either, in case you're wondering. ; )) But if she didn't have access to the Album, she would probably not be aware of it.. In fact she might not be aware of Adam, beyond WWFM (if at all) because we DID hear WWFM on the radio in the US. And as a result of radio play, and critical acclaim, Adam received a Grammy nomination. Quite an honor in itself.

continued below:

glitzylady said...

Continued from 11:07 AM above:

We Adam Lambert fans, his "OG" fans, his "die hard" fans, his loyal fans...love his music. We all have our favorites. And we support Adam by buying his music, not just because we are his fans, but because most of us, it seems, think its pretty damn GOOD as a whole. If you don't love his current music, for the most part, okay, but please don't dismiss those of us who DO like it a LOT, as "OTT-over the top" fans who like anything he puts out, and as a result blindly, or deaf-ly, in this case, proclaim it fabulous whether it is or not. That is so demeaning and dismissive of a whole lot of people. And of Adam's vision of his music, and the results of the last year and a half of his life. And I'm not disrespecting your opinion. Certainly, Adam and his music don't appeal to everyone, and are not their taste in musical styles Fair enough..But to many around the world, Trespassing IS a great collection of music. And it COULD be nominated for Album of the Year. Who knows.

You expressed your honest opinion and I do appreciate it.. This was my opinion. I hope we can agree to disagree. Perhaps next time around Adam will give you some tunes you are more into. In the meantime, us "OTT" fans are going to enjoy the hell out of Trespassing. And we'll see whose album is nominated for Album of the Year, or Pop Album of the Year, or perhaps Male Pop Singer of the Year, or Pop Single of the Year.. Stay tuned.

Anonymous said...

glitzylady, thanks for your response.
Well, "awful" may have been too strong of a word. To me, the songs are just generic pop songs. Nothing really outstanding about them. But that's just my opinion. I think the songs on FYE were much more interesting. I had several favorites from that one. I honestly don't think it got as much recognition as it deserved. And yes, Adam's grammy nomination for WWFM was well deserved. I'm just not as impressed with Trespassing. But I certainly hope it does better than it has been. Like I said, I didn't want to make anyone feel bad, but I just think that all of the grammy predictions and future award predictions is just his fans setting themselves up for disappointment.

Anonymous said...

I consider myself a true and supportive fan, but I honestly only like 6 of the songs on Trespassing album. I skip a lot of them when I'm listening. But I would and did willing pay the deluxe price for the 6 I like and am completely happy. I will support his career because I value his talent. I just don't like quite a few of the songs he likes.
Different tastes.
