JAK here.....Lucky Texas, they've already had him recently, must have liked him...:)) That's a good line-up. Gavin DeGraw is here in Tampa this week singing for RNC delegates.

@ daydreamin.....JAK here...

OT.....I forgot which thread but thanks for welcome back, I had a great visit with my daughter and I see Carrie (Minnie Mouse) told you we had a day to catch up on her life in France.
She looks Parisian! Her hair is in a short bob in back with sides much longer and curling under her chin. Her eyes peek at you from long shaggy bangs. She looks like a 1920's 'flapper'. Tres Chic!
I love that girl...and the other 4 my grandson has gently dumped. They all stay friends with him..??
#5 is on her way out I'm afraid, she's the red haired beauty that had her photo taken with Adam in London. WHAT does that kid want?

Adam seems to be picking up more gigs. If he is an Idol judge won't he need most of November off? I have watched Idol since day one you think I would know some timelines but I don't. Very good line up with this group.

anybody on Facebook, twitter or google,we could use some more comments..click on sorce, then "Adam Lambert" & they show quite a few videos..some old, some new;but also that bogus album..that needs comments, too, that it's NOT Adam's new music.I think it's great that Adam will be in this new show.I wonder what color his hair will be by Oct 29-lol!

Idol, announce your new judges ALREADY!!!This is still ridiclous!!!!!!

7:26 I really don't understand what you are talking about.

Nice lineup for this concert. It should be fun. I guess all these mini concerts are a prelude to the Trespassing tour he will be planning for next year. Waiting for the release of the next single and the video to go with it. Let's hope the third one is the charm and gets radio play and digital sales. I just read somewhere that most individuals now prefer shopping online for music rather than buying a cd in a store. Digital formats seem to be the way of music in the future...not the physical copy of one.

Another show to look forward to!

I went to winstar in OK. and may go to this one. 102.9 Dallas has this on their website. They only played NCOE for a short time. so I hope they get on board spinning the next single. Adam is going to make everyone else sound not so good. Not to sound rude cause I like Gavin and Allanis,P2 I don't think I could sit through though.

Adam is absolutely not a freak; if Adam admits that, well that's what he feels, because people keep putting that thought in his mind by sidelining him, calling him names etc. With reference made by the twitter fan...I'd like to know how 'unfreak' are you? We all are to a small or large extent, 'freakish', maybe that's why I don't think Adam is a freak...lol! If 'freak' is referenced to his gender, well I just read an interesting article. Scientific research worldwide states it is due to the very early gestation period of the baby embryo when hormones/androgens are not acting as they should in the foetal developmental stages due likely to stress/distress factors of the mother carrying the baby. So researchers now are targeting their research on a part of the brain called the hypothalamus responsible for the male/female gender development in a foetus (weeks old); to see if they can intervene to bring about its destined XX or XY proper foetal development. If this is successful, the gay issue could be a thing of the past but this is only at its infant stages; might take who knows when, for it to become reality. Meanwhile to the twitter fan: Adam is nooo freak; it's biological. :)

This backs up what I said a few threads back. So why do well educated people still think it is a lifestyle choice !!!
Puzzles me.

Yes I remember you saying something resembling what I have read; in fact since Adam came into my thoughts, I've been interested in this nature verses nurture issue regarding homosexuality. :)

Freak because of his choices: make-up, glitter, nail polish, AMA and outrageous costumes when this generation is not aware of who David Bowie is or that rockers do wear make-up and were outrageously freakish in the 70's & 80's.
If you are now aware of the who or what ADAM is channeling, comparing him to the current pop singers, then he is considered out of the norm.
There are a lot of gay celebrities but they try to behave or look as normal and not outlandish.
They who do not follow ADAM, will not appreciate him as his fans do. But we his fans, understand and are having the fun ride of our life. It's their loss.

OMG I can't believe he's coming back to Texas so soon! I was fortunate to see him in San Antonio (my home), then Winstar! And now Dallas?! Texas Glamberts are flailing bigtime! Am I dreaming?!

I feel very fortunate and blessed to see Adam again! I sure hope he still has the blond hair 'cause I've grown to love it! I just can't believe it!!!

I'm afraid I don't buy the idea that a pregnant woman under stress is responsible for a child being born with a gender identity problem. That's an idea that will give a lot of women stress. "I'm responsible for this?" Aren't most pregnant women stressed and nervous enough?

The cause is definitely in utereo but don't buy that study. That statement "the gay issue could be a thing of the past" is hurtful on many levels. Reminds me of the "curing" homosexuality nutjobs.
Lam-my sometimes it's not a good idea to share everything you read.

It certainly won't cheer Adam and his family up or any other family with LGBT members. This is still supposition. Sometimes silence is golden.

Well the article I read is very clinical and the researchers have been using rats and monkeys subjecting the pregnant animals to various stress tests and recorded the results. The research has been ongoing for ten years and even if I don't share what I have gathered, it's all well documented and as I've pointed out this is biological and not at all blaming pregnant mothers. It's just purely from the scientific research point of view. I have not used the word, cure, because that would indicate it's a disease and that precisely is what I think it's not.

You do know that all scientific finds are THEORIES don't you?? At one time or another a different group of scientists will come up with a different theory on what causes homosexuality. It irks me when I hear someone say I read it so it must be true.

Oh and btw - get over yourself.

Did I use the word...true? I even stressed that the research is at its infancy stages. Ten years into research on a hypothesis, shouldn't simply be dismissed as untrue either and it's not based on one group's findings but various researches. And my last sentence states very clearly...who knows when it will become reality. You seem to have an axe to grind with me!

It will be scientifically proven that homosexuality is biological. There is already a plethora of studies that support this across a broad range of the sciences.

For the person worried about in utero, a ton of things happen during early development, many of them beyond control of and/or before the person even knows she is pregnant. And scientists have already identified genes that are influenced by the amount of or timing of in utero hormones.

I saw a fascinating show years ago about a family tree in Africa where "girls" turned into boys at puberty. All of the children in question were descended from the same couple. It turned out that the second hormonal surge in-utero didn't happen (this is related to developing male gender.) When the hormonal surge for puberty happened, they completed their development. This had nothing to do with in-utero stress; it was obviously genetic.

We are complex creatures and there are probably a multitude of reasons for the way we turn out. Scientific investigation is a continuing process and frequently turns up interesting evidence but studies never produce definitive answers, just additional pieces to an ever-changing puzzle; those pieces are constantly being re-evaluated through further studies.

It is good to share information as long as we don't assume that there is only one cause or extrapolate any theory into a blame game. As far as in-utero stress is concerned, it would be incorrect to blame the mother because a lot of stress is external (death in the family, losing job, illness of a loved one.)

Study is important. The problem isn't studies, it's people/groups with an agenda who jump on preliminary results to bolster their theories. We will always have to worry about them.

Hollywood week is in November. That's a week. It is September/October that a judge needs off. Someone yesterday said 7cities X 3 days each. Contestants are tweeting that they've had callbacks for September 14th so we will know soon.

Anonymous said...

Blaming the mother sounds so unscientific; but the study I read is very detailed and meticulous. It points out specifically that when a mother is under stress, due to external or internal reasons, she releases a stress/adrenaline related hormone into her bloodstream which she shares with the unborn baby. And according to studies this stress hormone weakens/slows the effectiveness of testosterone, so disturbing the defeminisation of female to male foetal development of the hypothalamus (part of brain). So the point is yes there may be many factors that can give rise to homosexuality but the baby sharing the same bloodstream with the mother is crucial because whatever happens to the mother, the baby is affected; be it stress or other factors. Don't use the world blame; it's too complex to blame the mother.

Bottom line, we know extremely little about what may cause homosexuality. It remains a mystery.

We don't absolutely know why homosexuals are born as they are and we are asked to love one another.
The test for us is how we are to those who are different from us.

I think this is the wrong place to discuss what causes homosexuality.
We are fans of a wonderfully talented, kind hearted young man. Period. I have no desire to change him or explain him, just appreciate him...JAK

I think it's okay to discuss whatever interests some of us since this is a pretty liberal forum; as long as we have an open mind and do it without personal attacks. I guess that's what keeps me here than other sites which are more streamlined and less interesting in a way. The whole thing started because someone said Adam is a freak; that really didn't go down well with me; even if it was just supposedly friendly. But still I keep an open mind and gives the benefit of the doubt that it was a strange kind of endearment. Adam has had enough unpleasant names lobbied at him so this is uncalled for; so he has no choice but to admit it and laugh it off.

Adam uses the term freak frequently in lyrics of his songs, I don;t think he thinks of it as a derogative word. It's like his referring to himself or his friends as bitches. His terminology is way different from most of ours, but the young woman who used freak on twitter was not using it to insult Adam and he knew it. Jumping to his defense was not necessary. I agree with Jak let's just drop it.

Anonymous said...

Again whether something such as jumping to Adam's defence is necessary or not, is very subjective...to me I just had to say something, that's all there is to it. I've seen many comments where they jump to Adam's defence; which at times I think unnecessary too but I don't go round telling them it's unnecessary. Because what is unnecessary to someone may be necessary to another. Yes I'm aware Adam uses the word, freak in his song lyric...that is okay if he feels comfortable about it; but for someone else to use it on him is, as I've said uncalled for.
