I like this particular phase of Adam's personality; almost 'innocent' full of energy, ready to go and be tapped into any field or project. A little like an enthusiastic boy in a candy or toy shop, ready to taste or try anything exciting. He's still like that basically, but having tasted a lot of the candy and played with many toys, he has matured and now standing back to size up the situation arrived at so far. Still anticipating to taste more candy and play with more toys, but in bigger, more sophisticated candy or toy shops / surroundings. lol! Indirectly, a little less 'innocent' and more self knowing internally , externally as well.
Adam's image portrayed on the Glaad poster is a bit gay, on purpose, like big white earrings and a hint of lipstick. Nothing wrong because he's gay, he probably won't mind it, but in his real everyday person, he doesn't look gay, as overly portrayed on the Glaad poster; rather more like in these videos here, fun and more masculine. Well I guess different people like to portray or see him from their own perspective. But I view him as what/who he is, as himself. Having said that I am very happy for his special Glaad Award. Adam has given a face to the LGBT people, a face that is strong, self-knowing, self-reliant...like he says, nothing to hide; to which I remarked in an earlier remark, not good for a game of poker because in the latter, one needs to know how to hide or you lose money. lol!

Aol Sessions has always done a great job capturing the essence of Adam. He looks so young and adorable and his boyish charm is still intact. You can sense the wonderment and awe in his journey thus far. Now he's a worldly, mature man more savvy with the demands of fame. I miss the wide-eyed innocence of his early Idol days, so trusting...

@ Lam-my

On the Glaad poster Adam has a small black earring .
The white you see is the sparkly rhinestone earpiece.
It was definitely flashy and so was he that night when he sang at the 2011 Glaad Award Show. Music Again and Fever.

WOW! What a GREAT interview and that outfit is one of my absolute fave Adam outfits. And that hairstyle is my absolute fave Adam hairstyle. I kinda miss that era too but continue to move forward with Adam as he progresses with his career. LUV him!!!

Sweet Lam-my, I agree with you. Adam HAS given a face to the LGBTQ community. Awareness has sky-rocketed since his appearance on the world stage. I know many came before him, but he is making so much of the world's straight population stand up and take an interest. I don't think his impact should be underestimated.

I've said it before, I think Adam will be one for the history books.

Is Adam back in california yet I feel better when he is here.

Isn't saying Adam doesn't look gay offensive? Kind of like telling a black person they don't look black. What is wrong with looking like what you are?

Lam-my
You are so right that Adam gave a kind, strong and proud face ( "I don't need to whine") to the LGBTQ community. When I joined PFLAG I was introduced to a mom and dad who had adopted an exchange student. This was in the 1990's. He came out to them at the age of 14...very frightened... and was afraid of going home to his parents and country because he was from Belarus. In those days he would have ended up in jail or in one of those clinics that tries to "cure the gay away". Sadly, his parents didn't want him. It was a struggle, but these wonderful people adopted him and today he is studying to be an occupational therapist. I was so happy to tell the mom that Adam Lambert gave a concert in Belarus this year! We both had tears in our eyes as we hugged. That was a very brave thing for him to do...he is just the best!

That is sooo nice of you, not too many will use the word, sweet, on me, lol! Thanks! Yea, agree about Adam going down in the history books; both for his music and the gradual acknowledgment of the LGBT people, not just on home ground. I hear quite a bit of commotion, stir or discussion going on in other countries. He threw a stone into a deep pool of water and caused rings/ripples in it.

10:53.....Okay. Thanks.

Very emotional account of that young teenager who came out and doing so well now. Yea I'd say Adam is brave to give a concert in Belarus. Think of all those scared teenagers who finally have an open-minded, kind gay person to 'lean' on. Makes a lot of difference to scared desperate people, like clutching on the last straw. Admire your dedication.

Lam-my, You made a very important, simple and obvious point. Adam has given the LGBT community a public face, a face that is articulate and informed and multi-faceted. It's a face that is not afraid to be upfront and honest. The mainstream public, not just the inside gay commmunity, sees him and is aware of him. Yes, there are lots of behind-the-scenes LGBT workers, trying to promote equality, etc. But Adam is the only singer I can think of who was "out" right from the get-go and never apologized. This is what makes him different. He is not a clown-like, cliched gay person who is just out there for comic effect,as some gay figures are. He is introspective and serious. He talks the talk and walks the walk.
I love these interviews! Those of us who have followed him from the beginning really see an amazing person's career evolve and blossom in its own way. We're seeing all the ups and downs, the successes and disappointments. We've always said that following Adam would be a bumpy ride. Well, I'm glad I got on the ride, bumps and all.

Admittedly, I haven't listened to the interview yet. Is it an old one? He looks younger here.

Oh how I wish people commenting would stop saying, writing "WE" when stating their own comments and opinions.

There are so many different types of Adam fans, you can see it in every thread.

Being called Glamberts is fun & fine, part of the fan cult(ure). However, any one person saying "we this and that" better be sure, who 'we' he/she is talking about.

I for one have just been enjoying the ride for over 4 years, have admired and supported him unconditionally (and often got ridiculed here for that, which I find totally incomprehensible!).

I have no need to criticize or restrict or change him in any way (as that would even be possible, lol). So far he has not done or said anything I am not okay or comfortable with. That does not make me "delusional" or "not in touch with real life", so please no stupid remarks of "rosy coloured eyeglasses".

Having Adam to follow has just been so much fun, so entertaining and most of all such a heartfelt deeply emotional, educational (yes!) & even ecstatic experience!!! I will keep on loving and supporting him as long as his voice and fascinating persona keeps me entertained & hooked (4 life? LOL)

Yours is such a systematic, well thought-out piece of writing. The tireless effort of the gay community in their fight for equality and fairness must be acknowledged, but Adam in his own natural way sent out a very stark, visible message through his fearlessness in dealing with those who try to run him down. Frankly until now those 'good-try' people never succeeded. Adam's natural visibility for the gay community directly or indirectly gives courage, strength to those who have no one to turn to. Adam has pointed this out many times, that he did not have a visible 'face' whom he could derive direction in his formative, confused years of growing up especially as a teenager. In short he did not know who he was and was afraid to talk about it until his Mom finally opened it up to him. And that's why I said Adam has given a face to the LGBT community...an identity.

He looks younger now than in this interviews.

6:24, I think they are part of the AOL Sessions from his first album promo but just posted on the AOL channel yesterday, maybe as part of their Throwback Thursday promo. So yes, definitely younger.

Adam has to be an interviewers dream he is so smart and articulate. I' ve never seen him uncomfortable or flustered in an interview and I think that is because he has nothing to hide. How difficult it must have been for Elton John, Ricky Martin and many others who were fearful that their secret would ruin their careers. We have come a long way since and Adam has definitely lead the way.

7:07 you again. I already have a mother and yes she is a nag too.

Wtf do you mean me again!? I don't even post that often. And I'm nobody's mother!!!

All I'm saying is that let different kind of fans be themselves and post for themselves, quit using WE (the pronoun), when you state your own opinions, however good and poignant you think they are. Geezzz!

where is adams twitter on the 24/7 page?

glitzylady said...

@Anon 4:26 PM
Are you the same person who asked that question a couple of threads back?? I answered it on the "Adam's Latest Tweets" thread but here it is again :))

Do you mean the link to "Adam's Twitter"?

It's still there, at the top of the main page, under "Adam Lambert 24/7 News" and between the two advertisements..at least that's where it is on my computer screen.

It says:

HOME NEW PHOTOS NEW VIDEOS ADAM'S TWITTER

Click on ADAM'S TWITTER..takes you right there to his page.

Hope that helps.
