Speaking to Digital Spy, the 'Wake Me Up' star said that Lambert and Chic guitarist Rodgers - who teamed up on the former's 2012 album 'Trespassing' - have come together again on one of his new songs. He said:

"I did one track with Nile Rodgers and Adam Lambert that's kind of very disco."

"Lay Me Down" (the first sample) is actually the Adam collaboration.

I want him to collab with someone who can get him on radio! I'm not sure this guy can...

Love Lay Me Down - Adam will get more exposure in a collab - It's great news!>>>>>>>>>nancdruuu2

So where is adam name on the credits?

This music is exactly what Adam needs to be doing, 'GO ADAM', it modern and it's fresh and it's what the younger generation are into, this is bound to be great for radio play. I'm so excited for Adam's next album.

Has Adam said any thing about who his new label will be ? I've been sick thought I may have missed it .

If this collaboration is released as a single, this is definitely Adam's BEST shot at getting on radio. Avicii is incredibly hot right now and his current single is number one in around 15 countries. It went straight to number 1 in the UK where Adam has struggled (in fact it stopped the 1D single getting there).
Adam needs exposure to the younger listeners.

Yeah a collaboration with a hit maker is really Adams big chance to get on radio. Fingers crossed this gets released as a single. But anyway very cool it made the album.

I agree that Adam needs exposure to the younger listeners..but in truth, he needs exposure to any and all listeners.... via any and all mediums..

We don't really know if this song will even be included on a new album, as a new single..etc. But if it makes the cut...fingers crossed!!!! All he needs is one massive hit. With the Glee appearance coming up, which will definitely get him back in the spotlight, a great catchy song could be just the push he needs.

Fingers crossed.....

Glad Adam gave up a label that didn't support the masterpiece TP. This album can provide so many new opportunities. Hope the first release of the new album in 2014 rocks. This new song is pretty cool. Nile Rodgers is a hit maker and he has that funk. Shady could have been a big hit if released. Adam needs promotion, exposure and a collaboration that puts his voice and talent out there.

Avicci's Wake Me Up is getting good airplay. This is exactly what Adam needs. EDM is huge in Europe!!! Avicii WMU has been #1 all over the charts in Europe and U.K. # 18 on U. S. itunes. My heart is jumping out of my chest. I have no doubts it will make their album otherwise why mention it and play it in their last concert in Sweden. Oh please let it be a single, this is the way Adam will break through and when his own music comes out it will make it easier.Well can you tell I am excited lol!

Adam's TP album was a masterpiece but it's not exactly what the younger generation are into. Lay Me Down is more current and that's what Adam needs to get radio play. If you've heard the latest Pharrell single 'Get Lucky' with Nile Rodgers, it was an instant hit because it's a similar vibe to Lay Me Down. Pharrell sounds great singing 'Get Lucky', but Adam would surely kill it, the song is constantly been playing on radio.

Avicii makes very good music and he is quite famous at least here in Europe, so I'm very happy that he works with Adam! :)

Totally agree, Adam needs exposure to the younger listeners, his album TP was a fantasic album and I love listening to it, but I can't help feeling he was trying to hard to please all age groups with it. Hopefully Nile can help Adam to step up to a more current sound, and I agree Nile Rodger's is definitely a hit maker.

It seems to me that Europe is leading the way with modern music.

Awww.. I was actually referring to Adam's new album..but nice to know it's included in Avicci's album... :))) I wasn't aware of that......

The track has been played at Avicii concerts. It's not a live performance. He is a DJ

Anonymous said...

Yes, Avicii's album is coming out in September

Avicii’s been ‘playing it out’ over the last few weeks and has, in fact, been finishing his set with it, which we suppose indicates that he has high hopes for the song’s future because if you’re a globe-trotting spinner of discs like Avicii you don’t exactly finish your set on a load of old shit do you.

I just watched this video of the poor guy working in the "office". For all of us working stiffs in the office pushing a giant bolder uphill, this should be our anthem. I take that back - for all the everyman/woman in the workforce doing the mundane jobs of the world, I feel your pain! This video is genius!...........nancdruuu2

Avicii is a world famous party dj. This is good news for Adam. Must have recorded it when Nile tweeted that pic of Adam singing the soundproofing off the walls :)

Can't wait to hear a better version when Avicii's album is released. Or sooner if it's released as a single ahead of the album release. Avicii is huge. This is exciting news.

more proof no one knows shit what Adam is up too. LOL Love Nile, it was a good day when Adam ran into that wonderful man.

Anonymous said...

Well we all knew when this was recorded back in may, we just didn't know if it would make the album.

This very exciting for Adam, we knew he was working with Nile on some music, but this is fantastic! Just hope as glizylady said that it makes the cut for the album or even better a single...Its hard to hear the words but has a great sound, sounds a bit funky to me!

Hope we hear more about this soon and a better/clearer version!

Niles and Adam = perfect pairing. Same as Queen + Adam. Doesn't get any better. Hope Lay me Down with Adam is a single.

This is an interview that says it all:

Avicii wants to collaborate with more talented people than the Rihannas and Chris Browns.

Nice to know that he thinks Adam is talented.

mediums are sizes (large, medium, small) or those people who charge you to tell you what you want to know about your future. media is the word to use to encompass radio, tv, movies, musical albums, etc.

the song sounds grate too me!! I hope we here moore of it.lol

Anonymous said...

what does the ID in the song title mean?

THIS IS WONDERFUL !!!

Avicii is very popular, and of course, so is Nile Rodgers, and the song is GREAT. Fantastic collaboration for all artists involved.

A few here have commented that Avicii's music will bring a younger audience to Adam. I'm sure that is true. But, the Trespassing album DID appeal to young folks. I think the problem was that it got virtually no airplay. My nephews and nieces, ages 8 to 18, and their friends loved the album when they heard it. It was a tragedy that the promotion was so lacking. Maybe working with Avicii and popular, young artists will bring the buzz needed to make a new album a success. RCA did not due Tresspassing justice. Let's hope the future albums are promoted like they deserve to be.

Anyway . . . Adam, this direction is truly exciting! With the right promotion, you will have the world at your feet. Best of Luck!

Lay Me Down, is that Adam actually singing? I love it. Nice work. Good beat.

Anonymous said...

@2:37 Yes that is Adam singing, can't wait to we hear the clearer sound, but might have to wait for Sept. when Avicii album drops.

Anonymous said...

Have you noticed how more "mature" people seem to really appreciate Adam? Nile, Brian and Roger!

Anonymous said...

Some articles, even with the low audio really liking it. Bragging on Adam strong vocal's. saying it could be no. 1hit obviously the guy a hit maker. Seems people are liking it when played at concert.

Anonymous said...

Or younger people appreciating him like Avacii.

Anonymous said...

hOW will this song help Adam if he sings it on someone elses album?

Anonymous said...

I don't think Avacii can sing very well-if that is what his voice sounds like. He should sick to his dj work.

Anonymous said...

If the song is released as a single, and that is a big if. It will get played on radio because avicii is popular. If its a hit he might get to perform it live with avicii. That would totally help his image, give him some cred and help his own music down the line. It keeps him in the public eye as well and exposes more people to his voice.

But people are getting way ahead of themselves. For now I'm just going to be happy it made the album. Nile has been a true friend and supporter.

Anonymous said...

The beat & sound comes definitely from the disco era, Nile R is genius in that department (there's even a part that sounds like George Benson's... Give me the Night*... anyone remember, lol?) - and of course, EXTRA BONUS is ADAM's SINGING & VOICE!!!

* we used to sing 'Give me the knife...' if the evening did not end as planned... fun times!

Anonymous said...

I don't think it is going to be released as a single, I just saw that on twitter if I read it right.

@Anon 12:38 PM
I assume you are referring to my comment re "mediums" at 8:52 AM.

I see that Adam isn't the only one here who is subject to grammar police. :)))

I know how to use the terms "media", "mediums"...the various meanings, the singular and plural forms etc. ..

"Media" is indeed the plural of medium, but an alternate form is "mediums" and is also technically correct. Media is an all encompassing term..but I chose to use "mediums" as a way to differentiate between the various Media types... TV, radio, recorded music, film, etc............ All different mediums....

Not that it matters that much.......... Not sure why you felt the need..but correct me in the future if you must :)))

Anonymous said...

Lay Me Down - this song is very likeable and catchy but very repetitive. Adam's album songs are much better. However, the finished version of this song will probably be a lot more polished.

glitzylady said...

By the way, I'm DYING to hear the clearer version of this song...really excited to hear, and download, the finished product.

I'm with 11:29 PM. I much prefer Adam's own songs. They have a lot more substance and meaning but the end result might be a whole lot better.

The 2nd song has a country vibe about it. As Avicii is a DJ, is he actually singing the song? Whoever is singing it has an unusual voice.

I'm sure I've heard the 3rd song before or one very similar.

Anonymous said...

4:17, that's Adam.

Anonymous said...

2:27 AM, good catch, Wake Me Up does have a country vibe. Avicci debuted it live with banjos. A review I read said this album is crossing boundaries into other genres.

Avicii does not sing lyrics. The singer on WMU is an R&B singer/rapper, Aloe Blacc. That's mixing genres for sure. Very interesting.

The third song, Levels, was a huge hit so I'm sure you have heard it.
