The problem with AI is not that it needs new judges, but a whole new concept. This show is so old-fashioned and lame. Most of the contestants are almost the same, regular singers, nothing exciting about them.

news flash sweetheart..I wouldn't bank on AI coming back after this season..I am over JLo..I like Keith..will-i-am..well, I just cannot tolerate him..if they were determined to have a black rapper, why not P-Diddy, or Daddy, or whatever he calls himself..Sean Combs..He is a hoot and he and Jlo used to be an item..where is he these days..I loved the commercials he did...

The show's demographic fell into more country music lovers after Simon and Paula left the show. Two of its most successful alumni are country or pop/country, Underwood and Clarkson. They still haven't found the pop star they are looking for. They had their chances with Adam but they miss managed him. AI couldn't promote him the way Cowell found his own successful pops like 1D most recent one.

Oh well, Adam is super talented and he will find his next niche. Hopefully with Glee he will shine again in a big way. He is TOO good to be ignored!

Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Randy Jackson won't be returning for American Idol season 13, but Fox President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly, announced that Keith Urban would be back at the judges table in 2014!

Reilly also confirmed the network has been talking with Jennifer Lopez about returning, but there was no deal in place at this time. He also added that many of the rumors you've heard hold some water, but when asked if Jennifer Hudson and Adam Lambert were in current negotiations, he told me, "There have been conversations, we love the alumni to return to the show in some fashion, but there were availability issues in trying to line up what felt right."

This makes it sound like there were scheduling conflicts with Adam..Hummm

Jennifer Lopez is actually well known for her charity work which includes her own foundation. JLo was just honored for her work with amfAR. She also just performed at and was honored for her charity work at the Muhammad Ali Parkinsons Center. JLo is also involved with MusiCares, Amnesty Intl, children's charities and work in Puerto Rico and more.

Glamberts can really be idiots sometimes. It's embarrassing how this fandom nowadays trash talks so many other artists just because people are disappointed about something Adam didn't get. No wonder Idol didn't want to have anything to do with Adam's crazy fan base. News flash, there are other equally talented and even more talented people than Adam out there. That panel may be boring, but they do know their shit. It's nothing away from Adam that Idol chose them.

I read in the UK media that Will..I..Am as judge on Xfactor UK was 'terrible'. We'll see how he does on AI. Happy for Adam that he will now be able to put all his energy on other projects like Glee and his own music. Adam knows how to continue building on his already incredibly successful career.

Adam is to unpredictable to be on this show. It is a family show so he is out. Everyone should have known Will was in because of Jimmy. They fired Nigel & Company to bring back 2 rehases. The new people should be fired. The people hiring the new people should be fired also. How is this suppose to turn this show around? Ratings went down with JLO and Keith. Want be watching.

I am not even convinced that the voting is even legitimate, and I certainly didn't watch last year with the two divas. I think it's time to end this show. It's beyond its shelf date.

I agree with others who say that Glee is the better career move for Adam. To me, Idol would be a step backwards for his musical career. And the person who said Adam is too unpredictable? He knows decorum when it comes to individual situations. He would have to go some to be more unpredictable and inappropriate than Steven Tyler was on that show...and I'm a big ST fan.

Due to huge lawsuit by former AI contestants, it's better that Adam isn't on Idol. Warwick and Niguel will return for the next season once this lawsuit is over and done with.

You know, at this point I really don't care about Idol anymore. The show has had its day and it is time to end it this season. Too much chaos with previous judges, lack of chemistry with others, ridiculously high salaries, lack of successful careers for winners that don't necessarily take off in a business that is very unpredicatable. There just seem to be too many of these talent, singing reality shows and the judges seem to interchange between Britain, Australia and the US shows. Of course, Adam fans would love to have seen him as a judge, but would it have been possible or even a good career move, who knows? But it looks like it is not going to happen. Adam has other projects to work on with Glee being at the forefront. Hopefully there is a third album somwhere in his plans also. I don't think I will be watching Idol unless Adam is there as a mentor or a performer.

Why don't they have a fourth judge chair on a rotating basis and use
former Idol winners or the runners up in that spot each week? So You Think You Can Dance has rotating judges on their panel and some have nothing to do with dancing at all. Or use the former winners as mentors each week. It true they have not all been successful in their careers reaching superstardom, but have still continued performing in some capacity. Everyone cannot be a superstar in the music business today.

Nothing is set in stone!!! I had a funny feeling that Keith Urban will be back on idol because he did The Voice Australia with Delta Goodrem. Maybe the new producers want to see fans reaction to Jennifer Lopez returning and Will.i.am as new judges.

They r doing Adam a favor by letting him judge. They rigged season 8 so he couldn't win. Who cares about a show that the winner is chosen by groups of people that votes lots and lots of time. This problem should have been fixed for sure after Season 8. Should been one vote per phone. The little teeny boppers will always vote for WGWG. Seacrest needs to go. I can't stand hearing him talk about the millions of votes. The votes don't match up with the ratings, making Idol a big joke.

Keith knows the business, has a quirky sense of humor, and brings in the country folks.

Jennifer has years in the business, IS a philanthropist, and beautiful to look at. She does need to learn how to critique without looking heartsick, tho'. Only one person wins in the end, after all.

I don't know a lot about will.i.am, but he has been very successful in the music business and is also very philanthropic. Plus, he was a hoot on the Graham Norton show with Adam. A low-key kind of humor that takes you by surprise.

(Keith probably gives to charity. Just don't know a lot about him either.)

But none of this will bring me to watch Idol. Adam is the only person I would tune in to. And, maybe Simon, if they brought him back.

I think Idol has been trying to recapture the magic ever since Simon, Paula, Kara and Randyshared the judging panel. Adam aside, in my opinion, this was the best panel.

Goofy, talented Paula really knew her stuff. And she was Adam's biggest cheerleader during his anxious Idol journey. Very cool and appreciated by Adam.

Kara, little did I know, is a behind the scene genius, writing with the biggest stars. Adam singled her out for giving him the most useful feedback.

Long-timme music producer Randy saw in Adam the Rock God he is. And he should know.

And then there's Simon. He had no fear when giving opinions. When he gave a thumbs up, it meant something. Not a fan of everything Adam did, but he recognized Adam was a world-wide star.

4:33pm, I agree totally. 4:10p is WAY off the mark. Adam knows how to conduct himself in all professional settings, and he is kind but honest when giving critiques. Idol and music biz folks said he was one of the best mentors.

I think if American Idol added Adam to the 3 already "confirmed" judges they could have a winning year. I know it's a long-shot, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed!

Without Adam as judge, AI is over. Jlo is the reason I quit watching. J Hudson is another bitchy diva. Thank goodness she didn't get it. I like Keith and Will IAm. But who cares? It is over. The AI judging panel needs to improve, not go backwards & that's what will happen with JLo there. She doesn't judge at all but tells the contestants how much she loves them - it is really embarrassing to watch. I like Keith & I know very little about Will.i.am - saw him on The Graham Norton show. I won't be watching AI unless Adam is a mentor and/or performing.
