I remember watching Adam and thinking he was really good. I fell in love during Motown week and have fallen deeper as time goes by. He is a true talent and an amazing human being.

That audition had me with the first note . I said to my family at that moment, "He's gonna win, he's got a fantastic voice and he's soooo cute! And look how charming he is!" And the rest is history.

I remember it so well. I was totally obsessed listening to Coldplay Viva La Vida track. When Ryan said is Adam Lambert up and coming then the track started playing. I said I better pay attention to this audition. Loved his audition of Boheiman. Couldn't understand why SC said he was theatrical and the back and forth conversation between Kara and SC. At the end I was happy they all said yes. I googled him watched his videos and checked out blogs. Mostly were saying to check him out on the show. Finally I settled on American Idol website with tons of other fans chatting and sharing news under his profile on AI site. Well as the saying goes, the rest is history. Here I am still berting.

Yea, I've watched this video so many times and still touches a nerve. The way, Adam jumped and turned, along the pavement caught my attention, at that time; the smoothness of the body turn; mmm no wonder he twirled that Starchild chandelier so smoothly. lwl! Right from ding ding round one, he got the judges at each other's throat. Simon gave Adam such a sweet smile, didn't notice that before because Adam practically grabbed all the attention. He looked so boy-next-door but now 5 years on, what a sophisticated change, wearing all the renowned brands in town...like I call him, red carpet king. lol! But the real thing is multi-genre singing king. lwl!

5 years on...a lot of water
Under the bridge, has gone
Ripples, rapids, whirlpools
Till today...much like what Kara said
Like pulling teeth...sounded quite weird then
Come to think of it...it's at times
Worse than that for Adam
As he kayaks down the rapids
No time even to breathe
Let alone, pull teeth lol!

Watched the adorable audition then watched same song in Kiev, 4 years later....I am still absolutely mesmerized. 300,000 people...in Russia...loving him and cheering for him, knowing he is beautiful, awesomely talented, gay, American!! That was such a pinacle of his experience....basically unknown and uncovered by American press. Now that there is all this flak and trouble with the Olympics and Shoshi and gay-bashing...why doesn't the American press point out the amazing reception our Adam received. He is truly an ambassador of love and tolerance and just plain power that flashes out of those blue eyes....

Actually it's a bit unusual that Kara used the term, pull teeth; because this used to be a colloquial term used in Singapore many years ago. And as usual, teachers started teaching the correct way...they said it should be tooth extraction...Mmm so difficult and so, pull teeth, prevailed. lol! But as the people got more sophisticated, and teachers more determined, "pull teeth" was laid to rest and I don't seem to hear it anymore, perhaps still hanging on, near extinction, with the older generations. lol!

Love at first sight !! It was so obvious.

I just listened to the interview. I never realized Brian (and Roger?) did so many other music events that are not Queen. It's really great and it sure make life interesting for them. Variety is everything. It sure sounds like WILL be a Queenbert tour of some kind this year. I love Brian's praise for Adam. I never get tired of hearing him talk about Adam's vocal range and sheer talent.

I fell in love with Adam from his first moment on AI. I remember calling my sister and telling you that I like the guy with the punky hair. There is a street near us called Lambert St. and I thought I'd remember Adam's name by thinking of that street. Now I pass that street and think only of Adam. He stole my heart that first night and never gave it back.

Just occurred to me that a U.S. Queen tour could help drum up public interest in the Freddy movie, although that film will likely not be out for quite a while. As legendary as they are, I don't think Queen is on the average person's music radar. I was talking to my 20-something nephew about Queen and told him that We Will Rock You, that we hear at so many sporting events, is Queen. He didn't realize that was a Queen song. He didn't know that other well-known songs that he has heard are Queen songs either. Would be great if the tour could help promote the movie. Just musing.

It actually seems much longer to me.....as if he's been in my life, his whole life. I have a mental album of him at almost every age and soooo many interviews and laughs and performances. I have his wardrobe memorized, I've lived thru one romance with him that made my heart so happy to see the joy it brought him and then made my heart so sad that it wasn't his forever after.

I have shared with you the wonderstruck feeling of 'why doesn't everyone see the magic we see' ? Are we bewitched ? Is he the Pied Piper that we follow by a strange compulsion ?

Whatever enchantment that holds us in it's grasp I don't want to escape....I have been , am , and will be a contented person in his thrall. Lead on.
JAK...crazed and Adamazed.

I cannot believe it's been five years either. He had me at that first note. I hadn't really been watching Idol from the previous seasons, but once I heard Adam sing, I was hooked. It's the only time I actually ever voted for a contestant on the show also. I think his performances each week, the duet with Allison on Slow Ride and then the finale with Kiss were some of the best highlights of Idol from any shows before and since Season 8. Adam set the bar so high with his vocal talent and mesmerizing stage presence, that no one has ever come close to him in holding my attention to keep on watching. It's been an interesting, exciting and spectacular journey following Adam since those days on Idol. Here's hoping that 2014 will be the best year yet for Adam both professionally and personally.

Makes me cry . . . so glad he tried out for Idol . . .Love You BB

I believe the first audition was in June of 2008. Then contestants go through various different kinds of screening auditions before performing in front of the judges. But on TV we first see in front of the judges audition. Front of judges audition probably was in August or September of 2008. So Adam was 26. Then turned 27 when the show broadcasted. Almost one year of Idol show. Then almost three months of Idol Tour. Then the rest is history or legend in the making.

My hubby and I just sat down to watch this vid. I've seen it a "few" times over the past 5 years, but being that my DH doesn't follow Adam **quite** as closely as I do, he hasn't seen it in awhile..

What struck me the most is this: Adam, in addition to his voice, and obvious talent, has such an innate ability to charm the **socks** off of just about anyone he comes in contact with. He has that inner light and charisma that just says "STAR"!! It was so clear since the first moment of this audition that great things were in store for Adam, at that time and place, and from that moment on.

I have to admit that I didn't see this audition as it happened. We had a lot of family things going on and weren't watching Idol at the beginning of the season. We started watching at Top 13 when Adam sang Black or White. About 10 seconds into his Michael Jackson Week performance, we were toast. Completely awestruck and forever in his spell. You could say it was love at first sight :)

So I loved glancing over at my husband, while he was watching this audition. He was smiling, as he always does when watching Adam perform (I'm not the only one in the family who adores Adam..and has been to some live performances..) enjoying the charming Adam and his amazing voice. Just like we've been doing for the past 5 years.

He is the best we seen in every city. Paula sure knows how to pick them.

"He has a good voice!"

Correction: "He has one in a billion VOICE!" So there!

I can't believe that Adam and his music have been in my life for five years. It certainly has been an exciting journey. Hoping that this year is the best yet for Adam with a new label and a new album. Maybe even some Queen concerts here in the states. I found a site that has all of Adam's performances on a video list which I have saved in my favorites. I can pull up any of them whenever I need an Adam "fix",and watch him perform. It's just amazing how many people became Adam fans from that first appearance on Idol and have followed his career since then.

Adam is very fortunate to have loyal fans like us. After 5 years, we all still feel the same for him. I love all his idol performances.

Is it Adam who is fortunate or is it us who are fortunate?

Anonymous said...

Both because we have each other.
