Likely you weren't diffusing bigotry or crabbiness. Trolls don't care if they believe what they say, they just want to cause a reaction. You can't diffuse that, you can only not give them what they want by not responding.

Not responding really is the best way to deal with a troll especially if their comment will be deleted.

You are so wrong; Adam is an internationl star and he has millions of young fans also; all over the world. Adam happens to be young, beautiful and one of the most talented entertainers in the world.

Also, Adam is fortunate enough to have fans from birth to a litte over 100 years old. The little fan from birth, the babie's mom used to play Adam's cd's all the time before the baby was born. What can I say; the man is a treasure to behold. We all just can't help ourselves! JS.

That's ok, even trolls as you call them; could probably use a little history education about Adam, things they might not know about. Can't hurt anything. After all; trolls as you call them, are people too. As someone else said a little earlier, maybe they are just lonley and bitter people who just might need a litte attention.

Nothing is going to bring us down on Adam's Birthday; I think we are all here to celebrate this gracious and classy man; with the big talent and an even bigger heart. Happy Birthday dear beautiful man!

adam has fans of all ages - go to a concert and you shall see, plus lots of young fans worldwide. he is not going anywhere and neither are the 'older' women (myself included) who can support an entertainer.

4:06, no, they don't need education about Adam. They don't care what is true or false, they just want a reaction. Giving them attention does not help them, it makes them continue. Replying to them does hurt because it encourages them. It is well understood on the internet that on an unmoderated site the best and only thing to do is ignore them. Since Admin won't block or delete them we have to ignore them.
