Awesome!
Ridiculous. Just for people who don't want to admit they or their child is ADHD. Hope he is joking around.
@1:21 PM How about if Adam isn't joking?
Indigos or chrystals don't do drugs though.
I mean recreational drugs, like hippies do. They might slide into drug addiction, but it is a drug problem to them.
I don't know what anyone is talking about here.
Indigo and crystal children.
2:14, Neither do I.
Indigo children are children who was born with ADHD and has mental illness. Or children who think that they are psychics :) jJust Google it, ladies!
Indigo children is no joke. Open minds please...Thx......nancdruuu2
Indigos are sensitive. Hippies are intolerant. The narrow-mindedness (like a dead mind) of the hippies never cease to amaze me.
The whole concept is open to anyone's interpretation
I assume Adam does not mean anything negative by using these expressions. He says he was pretty "over-active" when he was little and that's why his parents put him in children's theater. I guess he believes that the term applies to him, at least a little.
DRG
somebody is losing the plot or something?
Haha I am def starting to think Adams lost the plot with some of stuff he is posting lately
Indigo Children are not just those who are hyper-active or drug users... This is a very interesting and informative article that discusses the Indigo Child, the various phases of his or her life, the theories about who they are and why they may be the next step in the evolution of the human species.. Who knows if it's all true or not, but interesting if you have an open mind... I think Adam certainly fits the general description of an Indigo Child/Adult. Actually fits him to a "T"...
The link: (And interestingly enough, it comes from the "StarChild" website... Makes me think Adam chose his GLEE nickname from this site??!!! Hmmm...). I was just cruising the internet when I came across this.. On a cross country flight so I have that kind of time today :))
Indigo Children: The System Busters

Some ways of "identifying" an Indigo Child below:
"....it is easy to identify an Indigo by their sensitivity, creativity, spirituality and general behavioral patterns.
As children, they look much like other children, although they are often physically beautiful with penetrating eyes. They are always highly intelligent and full of questions and demands. They are energetic and active and have strong wills and a strong sense of their own value and importance. They know that they are special and that they are here to do something significant.
They are right-brain oriented, and are generally attracted to right-brain pursuits such as music, art, writing and spirituality. They love crystals and reiki and meditation and yoga.
They are very passionate and intensely loyal to their friends, of whom they often have many. They believe in honesty and communication in relationships. They are often baffled by dishonesty and manipulation and other forms of selfish behavior deemed normal by their elders.
Their attitude towards money is either to reject it as unnecessary or to be very aware of its power and to seek, often successfully, to create affluence for themselves.
A key feature of Indigos is often anger. They will not be ordered around by so-called "authority figures". On a deep level, Indigos do not recognize "authority". They know we are all equal, and so they are enraged by those who assume authority and behave dictatorially, whether they are parents, teachers or bosses.
This is where they are important as teachers - they are teaching us to own our own power and to respect ourselves, by not giving away our power to those who demand it.
They are teaching us further to value our creative and spiritual selves and not to place so much value on material success."
Another description of an Indigo Child:
"The Indigo as child is active, energetic and imaginative. They can entertain themselves and play in their own worlds for hours."
So who knows...but sure sounds a lot like Adam!!!
OMG 2:47 spouting your own ignorace with your blind statements. Did you grow up in a smothered by your surroundings. Talk about closed minded.
And another interesting article about "Star Children" aka "Indigo" "Crystal" and "Rainbow" Children..
http://www.starchildren.info/indigo.html
Adam is definitely a "Star Child"... in every sense of the term... Love it!!!
Adam is a space cadet and he is big on this kind of new age bullshit. It's one of the problems he has when attempting to write lyrics. He isn't relatable to those of us who live in the real world.
They are exhausting to deal with if you are a teacher. Or a parent.
One person's BS is another human being's enlightenment and reality...
Just saying.....
I hope Adam isn't believing this indigo stuff. It's some very questionable fringe new age stuff. It includes a channeled spirit guru and vibrational patterning and psychic abilities and other weird stuff.
I don't think it sounds like Adam because the description sounds spoiled, entitled, difficult to get along with and egocentric.
More info on what it is:
"The term "indigo children" originated with parapsychologist and self-described synesthete and psychic Nancy Ann Tappe"
"Although no scientific studies give credibility to the existence of indigo children or their traits, the phenomenon appeals to some parents whose children have been diagnosed with learning disabilities and to parents seeking to believe that their children are special."
"parents label their children as "indigo" to provide an alternative explanation for their children's improper behavior stemming from ADD and ADHD.

The word indigo comes from the belief that these people have an indigo blue aura, which supposedly can be seen in photographs. I am not a believer.
I think indigos are being belittled.
Here is a list of signs your child is an indigo from a pro-indigo site. These are not all admirable qualities.
What are the behavioral patterns of Indigos?
-They are born feeling and knowing they are special and should be revered.
-An indigo knows they belong here as they are and expect you to realize it as well.
-These children are more confident and have a higher sense of self-worth.
-Absolute authority, the kind with no choices, negotiation, or input from them does not sit well. The educational system is a good example.
-Some of the rules we so carefully followed as children seem silly to them and they fight them.
-Rigid ritualistic systems are considered archaic to an indigo child. They feel everything should be given creative thought.
-They are insightful and often have a better idea of method then what has been in place for years. This makes them seem like "system busters."
-Adults often view an indigo as anti-social unless they are with other indigos. Often they feel lost and misunderstood, which causes them to go within.
-The old control methods like, "Wait till your father gets home," have no affect on these children.
-The fulfillment of their personal needs is important to them, and they will let you know.
Are you or your children an indigo?
These are the characteristics of an indigo as stated in The Care and Feeding of Your Indigo Child:
-Strong willed
-Born in 1978 or later
-Headstrong
-Creative, with an artistic flair for music, jewelry making, poetry, etc.
-Prone to addictions
An "old soul" as if they’re 13 going on 43
-Intuitive or psychic, possibly with a history of seeing angels or deceased people
-An isolationist, either through aggressive acting-out, or through fragile introversion
Independent and proud, even if they’re constantly asking you for money
-Possess a deep desire to help the world in a big way
-Wavers between low self-esteem and grandiosity
-Bores easily
-Has probably been diagnosed as having ADD or ADHD
-Prone to insomnia, restless sleep, nightmares, or difficulty/fear of falling asleep
-Has a history of depression, or even suicidal thoughts or attempts
-Looks for real, deep, and lasting friendships
-Easily bonds with plants or animals.
If you possess 14 or more of these traits you are an indigo. If 11 to 13, you’re probably an indigo in training. If you’re an adult with these traits you could be a "lightworker."

The first indigos were born in the 50's and 60's.
Seen enough?
I don't think Adam means for this to be analyzed so deeply. I think he is using the term for fun to describe himself as kind of antsy and always on the move, creative and arts-minded. A lot of what glitzy posted from the article does suit him, but I'm not going to turn it into a psycho-analysis or anything. As Adam might say in this case, "It's not that deep."
DRG
Well if its not that deep I wonder why he put it on his twitter bio. That makes it seem like it's some important clue to who he is, or how he is trying to brand himself for this next era.
Hopefully this is just another one of his stoned ideas and he will delete it when he is sober
Hopefully Adam isn't into the weirdo aliens and channeled spirits part. He doesn't at all seem to be the self-centered description part.
Kids with photographic memories are often called Indigo kids. Extremely smart and creative. I have couple of them in my family. VERY successful. Prisim of their mind is totally differet than regular people.
I agree with @DRG: I love the fun of the "StarChild/Indigo Child" descriptions, and I suspect Adam sees himself at least to a certain extent, in these new-age-y subjects..
But yes, it's gotta really be more for FUN than getting all deeply psychoanalytical. And serious.
"Cause, as Adam says, it ain't that deep... really...
Not to be taken terribly seriously. We can have fun with it, or get all bent out of shape... and talk about the negative traits, and worry about Adam some more.. personally, I don't want to do any of that...
I just appreciate the guy for who he is, and how he perhaps sees himself at times.. As an Indigo/Starchild... in other words a creative, artistic, lovable, sweet, energetic, always on the go, very determined and focused, especially when it comes to issues such as bullying, and LGBT issues... man who also happens to be an incredible singer... and lovely and enlightened human being...
Nothing wrong with that! :)
It is kind of sad that the hippies in this fandom are belittling Adam and his new bio, but that is not a surprise to me. Old doesn't want to give way, or even understand.
You can pretend it's just artsy fun but that is not what the people who believe their children are Indigos think it is about.
I think this discussion is in poor taste.
Indigo, Crystal and Rainbow Children
http://www.angeltherapy.com/article1.php
I have to say that I don't just think its all in in fun at all, but I also think some here are taking the subject a bit too seriously, specifically in reference to Adam...
i posted those two articles because I found them to be interesting and thought provoking. People can take away what they wish from them...
When I said "It ain't that deep.." I was referring to the negativity toward Adam some of the comments here. They are entitled to have their thoughts certainly, but some of the things that were aimed at Adam and his Indigo Child designation weren't particularly respectful..
The comments about "hippies" being narrow minded (ha!), "belittling" Adam about his bio, etc.., are pretty strange because "Hippies" tend to be open minded people and often into New Age concepts and theories.. Some major confusion there... Think "Burning Man Festival" today... Adam from time to time has called himself just that: A hippie.. Being a child of that time, the 60's and 70's, to be specific, myself, I know something about that mindset..that philosophy of life...and identify with it.. Maybe another reason I identify with Adam and the way he thinks.. and appreciate what he has to say. And the unique and always interesting person that he is...
I find the whole subject of "Indigo Children/Star Children" very intriguing.. I have family members who fit the description to a certain extent. My son, Adam's age, is one. Another younger one, a girl, is mildly autistic. With ADHD. Apparently an Indigo Child by some definitions...
I love to think that these Indigo Children/Star Children are indeed special human beings... just as we all are, but perhaps a new step in our evolution..
I'm glad I got free upbringing. I could freely form my own opinions when I was a kid. Nobody forced any political or religious values at home. Honesty was important. I've been interested in religions and philosophies although I didn't learn that at home.
6.17 and your belittling old. I find people with some age on them here acting far more intelligent such as GL than yourself. I agree with her for as much as I understand it. Also Adam is not stoned and is such a thinker and so much more enlightened than most people. It does fit Adam to an extent. He was a very active child very productive man always on the go. I admit I know little about it. There are autistic children in my family that have some of these traits.
Mainstream thought on the subject deserves as much of a voice here as the proponents of belief.
It's not disrespectful to say this is a fringe movement and there are charlatans involved.
Reincarnated aliens and channeling spirits and collective conciousness and a lot of crazy things all come with this thinking that indigos are a step in human evolution.
@7:13 What is the hippie philosophy then? Free love, what else?
Interesting discussion if nothing else.....
@Anon 7:15 PM
Absolutely true that it's fine (in my humble opinion) to share our thoughts whether we agree or disagree about this subject. I appreciate hearing a variety of philosophies and theories... whether proven or unproven...
There's a lot of nonsense in the New Age movement, imo. I do believe in paranormal though.
There's also a lot of nonsense in "old traditions".
@7:30 I'm suspicious about the one world religion. Too much like nazism.
OMG, here we go again. Adam makescacstatement and everyone is off and running. Lots of people believe in New Age ideas, beats the heck out if being stuck in the Stone Age. Adam keeps saying, it's notbthatbdeeo, stop trying to make something out if every thing he's says.
I think the point is you believe in what you have experienced. I don't believe unless I have experienced something and even if I have I still try to find a rational explanation.
If Adam puts something full of crazy on his bio it's going to have something made of it.
Hooray, Adam! With one short tweet, you got us talking about human behavior, psychology, hippies, religion, New Age philosophy, childhood disabilities, and a lot of other things. Congratulations! Intentionally or not, you got us all sharing a little of our life's philosophies. Nice break from "Oh, he's so gorgeous!" LOL.
Actually, I learned a lot from this thread. Thanks, all.
DRG
It's obvious Adam is just really high out of his mind.
@DRG
Haha ! And he is THAT too !! :)))
8.32 grow up. I think that's your problem. Nobody can spark talk like Adam. I do believe he may think that he has some of these traits who knows for sure. But some people just can't discuss they have to be nasty. The same few take every chance to throw in hateful just say stupid things instead of discussing something normally. Just hang around here to cause trouble. Why not follow someone a little more shallow and less of a thinker than Adam there are plenty out there. Let people enjoy this site and have nice normal discussions.
Adam not stoned or any other crazy comment he a thoughtful intelligent guy who sparks many conversations that his FANS don't go off the deep end about.
Oh, brother. The Indigo child world is full of crazy pseudoscience. The list of attributes reads more like narcissism than anything special.
I don't see why would indigos make a list of their own behaviour. So, most likely it's New Age propaganda.
Well, one thing's for sure ....... Adam has fans talking about something "new" which may well be his intention.
No one here is talking about his other Twitter bio edition I.e. "Glam Nouveau".
non sensical
1:20
Yeah, THAT!
I was just gonna post the same thing!
"Glam Nouveau", Adam care to elaborate?!?!!?
