I immediately thought of Adam (although imo Adam has had several right songs already but... you know, argghhh!)

I think he should duet with Kelly Rowland. She has a great pure voice.
I think Adam should be the solo artist he is.
Just because a singer duets with someone once in awhile; that does not change their solo status, it usually broadens their fan base.
