Review: Queen and Adam Lambert at Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham
PICTURE VIA BIRMINGHAM MAIL
EXCERPTS:
"Queen may have lost their King, but the exhilarating vocals of Adam Lambert were a perfect substitute for the former showman, Freddie Mercury. Replacing the most ostentatious lead vocalist of all time seemed an impossible task for Queen, but in Lambert they have found a very special talent."
"The decision to open with One Vision may have also been a cryptic indication of the solidarity and direction of Queen’s rejuvenated line up."
"Undoubtedly, Queen pride themselves on showmanship, and, thankfully, Lambert’s youth, style and flamboyant stage presence appears to have revived a unified energy that the band had been lacking for so very long."
"It’s been 24 years since the death of Freddie, but the show must go on - and it’s fairly safe to say that in Adam Lambert, Queen have found a new King."

A wonderful review, of course! Adam is certainly given his due in this one. The writer got his deserved 40 lashes for not appreciating Brian's guitar solo. To each his own, but I think Brian's solo is fantastic and is what a true rock concert is all about: authentic, true, live music played with excellence.
I loved Dr.Bri's guitar solo too.I couldn't keep my eyes off of him.
I saw Q + AL in Los Angeles and Brian's solo was breathtaking to me. It was like a trip into the cosmos. Also I have noted that in almost every photo with Brian and Adam, Brian is smiling. He obviously enjoys Adam to no end. When you see him in earlier performances with Freddie, he is rarely cracks a smile.
While I am at it, has anyone noticed that Huffington Post Entertainment NEVER mentions Adam or Q + AL. They cover the most obscure entertainers and say nothing about the singer and band that is bringing smiles and rave review ALL OVER THE WORLD (including the U.S.)doesn't even get a mention. I don't know how to write them my objections. If you know, please let us know how us Glamberts can contact them with our objections.

Referring to Brian ... "When you see him in earlier performances with Freddie, he rarely cracks a smile."
You obviously NEVER saw Queen WITH FREDDIE LIVE IN CONCERT. If you did, you would NEVER say that.
Scathing, raving comments in defence of Brian.
I think Brian is thinking of both . . . Freddie and Adam . . . when he's smiling!!.
I was at Birmingham. It was far too hot and they did too many solo performances in my opinion.
