BILLBOARD: Adam Lambert on His 'Ghost Town' vs. Madonna's 'Ghosttown': 'I Thought, What Are The Chances?'

This is merely a written extrapolation of a portion of Billboard's Pop Shop Podcast (that @glitzylady posted earlier) to somewhat sensationalize Adam's discussion of the odd coincidence that both he and Madonna released singles at the same time with an almost identical title.  Although the interview with Adam was by podcast co-host, Keith Caulfield, this piece is written by its other co-host, Jason Lipshutz (who was also part of Billboard's Must-Hear Music Podcast, posted yesterday, in which he professed he's a huge fan of Adam's music).

After all the waiting & buid up I truly feel bad for Adam bc tbere is no way this coincidence was a good thing. His release is overshadowed by the continued reference to Madonnas song. Hope we can move past it but w her releasing a video too Im not sure how. Plus it takes away from any individuality & sounds like a copycat. Thats why he should do his own thing and dump these overused producers & song writers.

They sound nothing alike!

I don't think it's any big deal, Madonna's is one word and Adam's is two, if anything I feel it is creating more of a buzz for #Ghost Town.Jmo It is what it is.

Pretty sure Adam's producers Max Martin & Shellback and his label, Warner Brothers Records (who all have absolutely massive amounts of music industry savvy) would have re-thought the first single release if they had any concerns at all about the two songs getting mixed up...

Adam said in interview that Ghost Town was created last year so, knowing back at Christmas (Adam has said) that Madonna had released her Ghosttown, perhaps they could've chosen another lead single instead of his Ghost Town. Anyway, water under the bridge now.

They could have changed the title too.

Why? It is a good marketing, people are talking and that's important.

For future reference (Adam writing a memo to himself): Use only longer song titles, no 1-2 word titles! Also gives my Glamberts new longer abbreviations to use!!! Lol.

My Heart Is A Ghost Town!!!
