Following the success of lead single “Ghost Town”, Adam Lambert is continuing the hype for his brand new album “Original High”.
Adam has just released 2nd single “Underground” and it’s as major as you would expect. The vocals are on point, the melody is killer and the production is intense.

These songs Adam says are for everyone's personal life and what they have gone through, but it is blindingly clear that they are also about Adam, and what he has gone through. We all know a little about Adam's loves and losses over the last 7 or 8 years.
People tend to write or sing about what they know, more than what friends tell them about their experiences. Adam knows and feels these words.
Please don't ask if I know Adam personally, I don't, but he has been an open book about his life, and his ups and downs. We have his own words from interviews and photos, so we can see and hear him.
These songs come from his heart.
I wonder if the whole album will be like this, I really like the 2 songs so far, and hope to hear more soon.

I'm sure there is some poetic license in these songs and some gifted song writing. Real life? Perhaps? But surely enhanced as it were. I love the whole vibe of TOH so far

Remembering ELVIS & his albums of mixed genres ... always a variety of music to choose from for everyone. I get the same feelings from ADAM's albums ... laugh .. cry .. dance .. and put you 'in-the-mood'!! Can't wait for ADAM's next MASTERpiece in June!!

Ghost town was written by sterling fox, not adam. He might have thrown In a few words to justify a writing credit but this song was not something that originated with him.

I disagree. I have watched and listened to him. I think his heart wasn't broken, at least not in recent years. He is playful and good-humored, proud, sometimes even arrogant. I think that being single is his own choice. Adam is a professional and know how to sing ballad.

Sometimes it seems to me that the fans are trying by force to look for something more romantic than reality is.

Give up, they're going to believe what they want, even though it was a full lyric when presented to Adam.

These are songs that resonate with Adam but are not necessarily so specific about his own life.
And he's a great talker - great at talking-up the meaning behind songs - great promoter. Nothing wrong with that. Hell, he could sell real-estate in a swamp and I'd buy it. : ))))

These songs are written in the hope they will appeal to the general public. He is with the backing of Warner trying to get a radio hit, and an all around hit with the public. The idea is to have great album sales, so that it is worth while to have a good tour. Queen songs have always appealed to the general public, and this is what Adam is striving for also. He went to the top writers, in order to achieve this.
He claims that TOH was a finished lyric that he showed Max Martin, and they thought it was a good start for the whole album, and worked from that. Love songs and dance songs always appeal.

choons, you make it sound like he might not always be honest, in his interviews. He is a good salesman, and they do have a tendency to embellish the truth. ha ha
Maybe he has never been fully in love, only in lust, which is a bit different, and a little bit selfish. When the lust fades, then it's back to work in the real world.

First of all YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, because what you are saying is just not true!! Are you a relative of Sterling Fox; or just an over invested fan of his?? It seems that every chance you get; you are singing the same old song. Adam has said that these songs come from his and his friend; and other that he has met perspectives, with some collaboration from writers that the producers hired. The guy you keep trying to push is just one of many that collaborated with Adam with HIS song; he was credited for his efforts, as all of collaborators were! He did do the whistling on Ghost Town and Adam gave him credit for that in interviews, even though he tried to jump the gun with the lyrics of Ghost town before Adam had a chance to put his cd out until Adam's Management pulled the plug on the premature antics; but that does not give him ownership of Adam's songs. He is a contributing song writer and that is all. He has even said that he was a writer on the song with Adam; so why are you calling Sterling a person that lies, just like you are calling Adam one! Relative or fan of his or not; I don't think either of these men would appreciate a person such as yourself spouting such ignorance and untruths. Give a rest, will you?

For your information, many artists hire writers for co-writing purposes; you don't see them running around trying to steal the artist's thunder!!

So stop embarrassing yourself by constantly running around trying to interject Sterling into Adam's growing success of TOH! You don't really sound like a fan of Adam's; just someone who is trying to extract from HIS out standing results of this project!
Adam says that were mostly his thoughts and his ideas with hired writers that the producers brought in. Adam does not lie about these things. I wish you would follow his lead!!

Just love the way Adam puts his heart and soul in the writing of this Album. That voice paints the picture that he is trying to portray. Oh that voice that one in a Billion voice!! All the words put on paper would not mean a darn thing; if not delivered so soulfully by our wonderful Gift From God; and Brian may so lovingly calls him. Words written by Adam and hired collaborators would go no where fast, without THE MACNIFICANT INSTRUMENT OF ADAM LAMBERT'S GOLDEN VOICE!

@Sandra M./2:33 PM

Thank you for your post; I agree with your take on the Sterling situation! I think it is the same he or she who is going around repeating the same lie over and over again on different sites! Thanks for reminding people of the truth of what Adams is constantly saying in most of his interviews. Some people never want to give Adam credit; no matter what he says! The truth could slap them in the face, it does not matter!

I love Underground; it is addictive. I think it will bring many new fans to Adam's new album TOH. Adam just takes a song and bam! This man can sing anything and make it sound so good! He is so soulful. He might even by nominated at the BET awards, that would be great. Maybe be invited to sing. I know I saw Justin B. there and Robin Thick; I know he sings a lot of R&B. I love the way Adam grabs a genre by horns and owns it!

If Underground won't be a single then can he still be nominated for any awards for it? Sorry if that's a dumb question... But I really don't know how that all works.

Anonymous said...

3:51 PM, no. I think if it isn't a single and doesn't go viral, it won't be submitted for any awards.

Where is the "Underground" he wants to be taken to? Anybody have a clue? It's hard to sing along when you don't know where you're asking to go and can't picture it in your mind's eye.

Sandra,
No, you are wrong. More than one person here, including those with tags, have confirmed that Ghost Town was a demo that came to Adam. I think Adam said it in an interview. I think Adam said it was more of a rock version when they got it and they changed it to dance. Maybe somebody can remember which one it was and link it.

Sterling Fox did write the song. He is a song writer and has written for other people. You don't have to be related to Fox to accept the fact he wrote a song Adam recorded.

There is nothing wrong with Adam getting songs from writers. He doesn't have to write all the songs himself.

You are also misinterpreting what Adam said about him and his friends. Adam said the songs REFLECT what he and his friends are going through and talking about, not that he and his friends wrote the songs.

You are way off base and owe 11:54 as well as Sterling Fox an apology. Be an adult and accept Adam doesn't have to be the primary author on every song and stop bully people who have the facts correct.

Adam has what people used to call, "the gift of gab". If you are not of a certain age, it means you can talk about anything to anyone at anytime. Adam is so articulate and engaging that people love to interview him. He looks you straight in the eye and makes you feel that he is speaking only to you. This is truly a gift! How can one man have so many gifts!!!!!!!!

nancdruu2 , "the gift of gab" isn't an expression only used by the AARP crowd.
