Adam Lambert has revealed how much his stint touring the world with rock band Queen has influenced the direction of his upcoming new album.
“Being on stage with Queen and remembering the most important things about music and performance are the most timeless things: it transcends trend and popularity contests,” Adam said in an interview with Billboard.
“It is more about truth, emotion, honesty and the connection with the audience, the music and the moment.
“Being on the road with a British rock band, and being in London a lot this year, rehearsing with them and doing TV gigs, I think that has affected my sound and where we are headed with it.
“[Europe] is very ahead of the curve, or right on, and I was definitely influenced by that. Vocally, it’s very intimate compared to what I’ve done in the past.
“There is a little bit of a daring, deeper internal conflict and poetry about it.”
Adam split with his record label over “creative differences” in July 2013, before inking a new deal with Warner Bros Records not long after.
He told Billboard he thinks people are “going to be really surprised” with his new album’s first single, which he said will be released in April.

Something I have never seen before, a concert review on a Ticketmaster website, not from one of their customers, but from one of their own staff.  Actually, this is their blog, "TM Blog."  Ticketmaster UK's Rebecca Lott went to one of the O2 shows in London (does not indicate which night) and gives her impressions of the experience.  (With our appreciation to reader Drakulka CZ for alerting us of this piece.)

"I hadn’t seen much of Adam Lambert before, but he had such an amazing voice, vocal range and charisma, without impersonating at all, which is really really hard to pull off.”
