I'm kind of surprised at Adam's comments on Iggy in public interviews like this. He usually is very kind and non-judgemental about people, so this is way-out for him. Don't care for it from him.. to tell you the truth....however true it may be. It just seems out-of-character for him.

I wonder if.....1. He is really miffed about Iggy's actions.. as Guy evidentally also seems to be.....or 2. Is this one of those contrived rivalries and disruptions that shows like this often encourage or orchestrate to reve up more audience tune in.

I'll bet he's regretting it now that it's out there. You're right Nanbert. I was also quite surprised by his comments about MelB's dress even though what he said after her comment about the styling of Isaiah was right on.
I gotta say that he is a fabulous judge! I am enjoying the show a lot and he brings some spice!

I would have thought he'd regret it, too....he certainly has complained in the past about the media making something big out of nothing.

However, he has said the same thing in at least two later interviews AFTER the first one travelled around the world....and even elaborated more on Iggy's transgressions in each. So I have to believe it is intentional on his part (which is surprising) ----or orchestrated by X Factor (which I'd rather believe, honestly).

We really don't know what he is not saying. Apparently she is always late and keeps them waiting, he said this in a very nice way, Being late is super rude, it's a way of saying you're more important than others. So there may be a lot more he is not saying, because he wants to b nice. He just responded to questions

I am disappointed in Adam's comments too, he usually rises above the fray and distances himself from this type of pettiness. He likes Guy, but this is not about taking sides. If anything he is usually protective of those who are perceived as "different" and not from the usual mold. Not good that he voiced this on public radio shows, poor judgment on his part and he knows his comments will be twisted and posted all over the Internet. His name needs to stay relevant, but not in this way.

About the styling. Mel B is a 41 years old woman with 3 children. She has no room to criticize a 16 year old boy, a teenager. She was way off base IMO.

OK, Ladies.....Adam is only human and yes he usually tries to be Nice but sometimes nice people can have a breaking point... there's going to be that one person who is going to hit a nerve, even for the nicest of people and it seems that Iggy is that person to Adam...so ladies give him the benefit of doubt...OK?πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Agree Lori......he wasn't even being mean, just stated facts

I see nothing bad in what ADAM said here about Iggy. She is constantly second-guessing things that she thinks should go a different way than what ADAM or Guy or even Mel B say ... although Mel B isn't shy about trouncing on the guys either. If you watch the show you can see how petulant & diva-ish Iggy can be. She pouts when you don't agree with her & kind of shuts herself off & just sits there with a little kid look on her face when she doesn't get her way!! ADAM is right ... she is a tough nut to crack ... IMO!! But I guess it takes all kinds to make this world go 'round!!

For me it is not a matter of benefit of the doubt, it is more of a concern that the media and the public unfamiliar with Adam will focus on these comments about Iggy at the expense of the otherwise outstanding job he is doing as judge and mentor. IMO, Adam should stay the course and offer up intelligent critique each week and stay away from conflict. These shows fail when it becomes about the judges and not the contestants, and when the drama between judges overshadows the singers. Just prefer that Adam not take the bait, especially since the show's ratings are dropping anyway.

To me, it's so clear that Adam's comments are all part of the X Factor game. He's on the interview circuit with instructions to generate a little controversy to boost ratings. Adam does a good job of playing his part.

@krismidas .. Good thought!! I've read comments that ADAM is too nice on the edge of being boring. Not so ... ADAM is very unfiltered & that sometimes does get him into hot water ... but he doesn't do it to be mean or hurtful ... he's just too darn honest at times ... JMO

Adam didn't have to reply to questions/comments about Iggy the way he did. Hopefully, what he's said won't come back to haunt him. I agree he's a very good judge & mentor but he needs a filter!!!

Sure, there's no excuse for Iggy being late but apart from that, she seems to be doing OK. This is her 1st attempt at being a judge/mentor & she's only 26. Guy has been an XFactorAU judge/mentor for 5 seasons, Mel B has been a judge/mentor on several reality talent shows including XFactorAU & Adam had a taste of being a judge on American Idol when Keith Urban was absent.

"He usually is very kind and non-judgemental about people."
Really? I used to love his personality and still am in awe when I hear his voice. But I certainly don't like him as much as I used to. I find his comments about the untalented contestants unnecessarily rude and sometimes downright humiliating. There is a fine line between honesty and rudeness that a lot of people seem to forget nowadays and I am sorry that Adam Lambert has become one of them.
The old Adam Lambert once said that he didn't enjoy watching the first rounds on talent shows because the contestants were humiliated and now he is doing it himself. I appreciate that he had to toughen up to deal with the pressure of being famous, but that doesn't have to go that far.

Agree with fluttsp - does not diminish me as a fan, but I felt his comments were snarky. I am not familiar with Iggy but she seems fine on the show and is nice to Adam and the contestants. I really don't think the show encourages a script of that sort - to turn on your fellow judges like that. They can disagree, but his comments
were insensitive and hopefully out of character.

Like Nanbert sayed it does seem out of character for Adam to criticize in such a harsch way and tone which does make me think it might be part of the "script". I don't even wanna know how staged TV really is. That sayed it's not a side of Adam I'm very fond of either...You can also do ALOT with what you cut...
We all know how well he carries himself and what a genuinely nice guy he is. So Iggy could be REALLY pushing it for Adam to actually say something.

What I also want to through into this conversation. Yes Adam can be hard on untalented people but it's not like he ONLY gives snarkly comments. In the live Facebook chat with Guy Adam recently did they talked about long days, up to 16 hours. I can only imagine how many self-assured and overly-confident people come to these auditions and think they are IT. I don't blame him for not always having the patience to let everybody down "easy".

what irritates me is the change of tone from his sunrise australia interview and the first radio interviews that turned up, where he criticized Iggy but also threw in one or two positive things...he was a little more moderate, diplomatic...to those most recent interviews where he is quite unforgiving..
were those two different days? The 4th Nov and the 7th?..He's wearing the same shirt and I thought the later interviews were pretaped on the same day as the first...does anybody know?

I'm giving this WAY to much thought!
