Hello Adam...the chopsticks look very unsightly; it shows the user does not know how to use them properly; bits of food don't get stuck so high up the chopsticks because we only use the ends of the chopsticks to pick the food.
By the way, chopsticks are a rather efficient utensil...can even be used as ancient kungfu weaponry using internal force.
