Yes, transgender people would have gone through a lot of physical and most of all mental trauma. They need a lot of acceptance not branding. Treat them as equals, they are equal humans!
In my country, the transgender person is considered the sex gender they are, after their procedure; which takes a few years of expert psychiatric counselling and understanding before it is finally done; and from thence recognised officially the sex they are changed to...no harassment or bullying.
Interesting that Singapore is so enlightened about acceptence of transgenders. But that begs the question of why so many signed a petition for Adam to be banned from performing a New Year's Eve concert there just because he is gay....even though they didn't succeed.
I guess they're still just as conflicted as most other places about the LGBT community.
