Very cool that he got to see Mel B, was hoping he would catch some theater while in town. Adam has the celebrity status to see any show he wants in complimentary seats, he would really enjoy "Hamilton" or Glenn Close in the "Sunset Blvd" revival. Hope he can do another show before he leaves. NYC warmed up this weekend so it's not freezing!

I posted on the next thread, too, but I will say again here for the millionth time: I hope and pray that Adam gets a role in a great theater production. That voice is one in a billion. (Where did I hear THAT before?)

Yes she does really seem to like him, Dee R Gee. LOL!

Think the probability is high that Adam will be involved in some theater project at some point in his life. The schedule is grueling with 8 performances/week and a long seasonal commitment - though stars now can opt for limited engagements, as Mel B did and Glenn Close and Jake Gyllenhaal are doing ( everyone needs to hear Jake sing in Sondheim's "Sunday"!). Unless there is a fantastic production or material, Adam is not ready yet for that kind of commitment. But attending theater will keep his love of theater alive. And JMO but I think winning a Tony is so much better than a Grammy!

I also think we'll see Adam in a musical production again. He has always supported the theatre community & he hopefully will grace that stage again when the time is right. Les Miz & Phantom of the Opera are 2 of my faves, also Moulon Rouge.I just love his voice no matter what he does.

I think it would be fun if he did a full circle & did BRIGADOON if they should ever revive it again!! I'd die to hear him sing Come To Me Bend To Me on stage again!! That would certainly bring the house down as they say in show biz!! I still watch the audio vid on Ytube just to hear that sweet voice!! Best performance of that song EVER!!!

Lambert Outlaw - agreed, that "Come to Me.." from "Brigadoon" was magnificent! I visit it often, and have used it to show Adam's extraordinary voice off to others.....along with Adam's "My Conviction" from "Hair" (unbelievable and hilarious).....both on Youtube.

I think Adam should consider taking a little "side-trip" and put out an album of show tunes...because he could do them so well. I know there are many of us who especially love that "side" of his voice --- even though we love everything he sings! He would never need to do a tour, but he could throw one of those songs in occasionally on tours of his own stuff.

Also, Adam singing "Broadway" would entice a whole new group of fans into his web who aren't so much into pop or rock. And once in, as we all know, they'll love EVERYTHING he sings, and discover themselves to be Glamberts!

Agree Nanbert - GaGa gained new fans and new respect when she joined Tony Bennett for duets. He admires artists who reinvent themselves and recognizes that it is part of the formula for career longevity - so not out of the realm of possibilities.

He's fortunate that he can "reinvent" himself.... in that he can sing ANY genre of music. But, actually, he IS singing almost all genres with Queen... and his own tour had a broad spectrum of music, too.

I am really anxious to see what his "Blues and Earthy" music will sound like. All I can think of with "earthy" is whale sounds. LOL. Of course, that brings to mind the "riffing" between Adam and Brian during the QAL tour, which I loved.

And, Anonymous8, you're right about GaGa. I "pricked up my ears" when she took that approach, and was forced to recognize that she has a terrific voice. I just hadn't paid her much attention because her style was not my "cup of tea"-- too much forced attention-getting turned me off.

Adam doesn't sing country and jazz with Queen.

Adam doesn't sing rap or hip hop with Queen either.

fluttsp... you're right (so far)..but I said above, "ALMOST all genres with Queen". However, who knows what else they may "pull out" of Queen's amazing repertroire on this upcoming tour!

However, I doubt we'll see him doing rap, since that's not singing anyway, just talking.

I'm not keen on rap but there are some very successful rap "singers".

Nanbert said...

Maybe they call themselves "singers", but they're not singing ("the creation of musical sound through the use of voice, tone and rhythm")....they're rapping ("rhyming and delivery of words to a beat").

Of course, if there are any who sing and rap in the same song, I guess they could be called rapper/singers... or singer/rappers, or whatever.......don't know, don't care.
