Thanks, broddy, for putting the whole conversation together. This is exciting news! Of course, this does not mean that Adam will actually be a cast member in the final show, but it does show that he has strong ownership in the writing of the songs, even though we know he is working with a team of writers.

This whole project sounds very intriguing. One thing I love is that it's ROCK MUSIC which is a bit different for Adam. Can't wait for him to show off his rock chops again.

These types of shows often take a long time to get written and cast and produced So we shouldn't hold our breaths too soon. I'll bet the music is awesome! Many talents are involved and Adam is lucky to be a part of it.

Yeah, it was a little confusing understanding what PattiHum's initial tweet was in response to. She didn't put it right after the tweet that she was responding to. But I think I figured it out — the way Gelly put it is actually still a bit confusing.

No, I don't think Adam's planning on being in it... Didn't he actually say as much in one interview?

The only thing is... As you know, he's been asked a lot about whether or not he's going to try and get on Broadway and he says whenever the right project comes along. So, maybe he was thinking that there has been no project coming along he's just going to write it himself! Well... One can always hope!

Dee and broddy.... I'm excited about this, too! But didn't know Adam had said he wasn't planning on being in it. That's very disappointing, if true.

I just remember him saying a good while ago that he would maybe be lured back to Broadway if he could "originate" a part...rather than playing one that had been played many many times before....or something approximately like that. I'm disappointed to think that now he's working so hard on a project he won't even sing/act in!

Like you, broddy...I just assumed that Adam had decided to write his own "vehicle" for Broadway. Well, we'll see. Maybe he feels it would be too much of a risk and/or too time consuming away from his solo and QAL tours. But, if the music(album) is a hit, Adam will be hard pressed to inhabit the musical on the stage.

I would be thrilled for Adam to write AND perform in a SUCCESSFUL musical...it would be another feather in his cap....but at the same time despair that I would never be able to see it...unless it came to Pittsburgh, of course.

Another bit of tantilizing news that has left me dying of curiousity....whatever happened to that Andrew Lloyd Webber album that Adam had a song and possible other contribution on? Has it been released yet?

Dee R Gee said...

Adam did say in an interview that he is not going to be part of the cast of this show.

broddybounce said...

Yes, I agree Dee, I thought he said that too in an interview about, what, two months ago?

Don't remember the ALW thing, Nanbert. Where did you hear that and what was it all about?

No, but, yeah, he does have his Q+AL commitments. Would be great if they could book something for the late fall in the US in anticipation of the pandemic's near-end. ???

Dee R Gee said...

I do remember an ALW mention floating around a while back. But no more was said of it. Can't remember exactly what it was about.

And a late fall QAL show would be really great. Not gonna get my hopes up, though.

Anybody got any ideas about who "the musical" is about? Adam says it's a real person but not well-known and presumed no longer living. The names Jobriath and Marc Bolan have been mentioned but it's still a secret. Adam never said that the person was a singer, although we generally assume he was. But it might not be. The music for the show is new. If the person it is about is a singer it would make sense for his music to be in the show, too. But it could be a combination of the two. Hmmmm. It's all a mystery at this point.

We could all be very surprised when the name is announced.

The Adam Lloyd Webber/Adam Lambert connection was posted here on 24/7 in December by glitzylady. It was about ALW's original cast album for his new musical "Cinderella" which would be released April 2021....which also included Adam Lambert and Sarah Brightman. From what was little known is that how/why Adam contributed to the album, because he was/is not a member of the original cast. The sparse information was that Adam sang/recorded on only one track, but was credited with some contribution (song writing?) on three other tracks. Just checked...Amazon U.K. has the album on its website for pre-order for a April 30, 2021 release. Don't know if it's yet available on Amazon USA.

FYI...Here's a link to that article about the Adam Lloyd Webber/Adam Lambert connection/collaberation/? article....

Thank you for the news broddy. So. Very exciting.

Dee R Gee said...

Thanks, Nanbert! I do remember it now. So it sounds like there really is an album coming out shortly that Adam is a part of. That's fantastic! I'm sure that as April 30 draws near there will some media promo for this album.

Nanbert said...

Dee R Gee....I have found some UK media promo online for the Album...which includes a few videos of songs by the original cast members, and an interview with FLW. One article speculated that its "guest artists", like Adam and Sarah Brightman, were big names to help sell the album. But so far, there is no fanfare in the early promotions about those guest artists....nor are they even mentioned on the front of the Album cover So,no further info about Adam's contribution was forthcomiong...that I could find.

And, BTW, it IS available on Amazon USA for preorder for April 30th release at $18 and some cents.

Nanbert said...

BTW....I would love to hear Adam sing a medley of Andrew Lloyd Webber music. He has the perfect voice for ALW's big blockbusters!

Dee R Gee said...

Agreed! Maybe someday he'll do an album of edgy show tunes.

Dee R Gee said...

Just read a Shosh tweet that confirms that Adam does sing one song on that Andrew Lloyd Webber Cinderella album. Great news! He is in good company. Nice to be associated with ALW, too.

Love seeing Adam out and about, FINALLY! Love his eyes, and the coat and those shoes, but I think he stole that hat from Hop-Along Cassidy. Adam loves it though, so that's ok.

Very cool seeing Adam's home. We don't see it much. Those soft lounge-y sweats look very comfortable.

Excited about Adam singing the soundtrack album for the musical. Apparently, it's just him, not a bunch of people on the soundtrack album. Just him doing the songs. At least that's how Shosh make it sound in her latest tweet. It will be interesting to find out who this show is based on.

Nanbert said...

Oh my!...That photo of Adam, at Catch, above should be captioned "Adam, The Club-Kid, Updated"! That strange hat, looking like a cross between Hoss's hat in Bonanza, Boy George's hat, and a Leprechaun's hat, must have been custom-made for him. Sigh, but he looks SO great in a Stetson!...or a Tophat! Oh well...HIS head...HIS choice! I notice he's also wearing a bandana...or headband...underneath the hat.

I wish he'd be more careful about "mingling" while this pandemic is still raging... Is it possible he has had his COVID vaccination?

Sorry I can't see Adam's home, and his "lounge-y sweats"... but don't do Twitter. Or is it more proper to say I don't Tweet? heh heh

Dee R Gee said...

Adam does look great in an actual cowboy hat. Very sexy. A real Stetson type hat. These big wide tall ones may be more stylish somehow, but not very sexy. I love that beautiful white one he wore in the Velvet video. Yum! Adam would make a drop-dead gorg cowboy.

Nanbert said...

Yes, Dee R Gee...and don't forget that white Stetson (same one?) he wore at the opening of his Morongo concert. Loved that concert! Still visit the videos of it.

A singing cowboy! How 'bout THAT for a movie musical? I've seen photos of Adam on horseback, so he CAN ride. And he certainly looks and sings better than either Gene Autry or Roy Rogers...both gone now anyway, I might add.

FYI...I had a big crush on Roy Roger's horse, Trigger, back then...a gorgeous palomino...heh heh.

Cowboy, pirate, private eye, wacky fashion magnate. Just a couple suggestions for Adam roles.

New music from Adam. YAY! I got carried away in Adam on youtube again and thought I'd bring this cover back to share.

"Stay" is so beautiful. I remember he sang it once and paired it with "Underneath." A nice combination of two heartfelt songs.

Patria said...

Yes, the two do pair up naturally.
I'd watched "Mad World" before "Stay" and they paired up perfectly, too. Watching his beautiful face and listening to all that ear candy I decided to contrast it with "Red House". And a contrast it is. Again the amazing vocals and of course the face. Adam is a chameleon .

(I'm not avoiding bringing links to Adam's own music or his collabs with Queen, it's just that it is sooo hard to pick favorites from them.)

I thought Adam looked so hot in that white Stetson cowboy type hat. He was just fine looking as Kelley Clarkson would say and we used to say in our days.
My middle daughter and granddaughter had Covid fortunately they are ok now. My granddaughter was back in school at the time so believe that where it came from, she is 9 she looks older but she 9. They fortunately did not have a bad case of it. My daughter was worse than my granddaughter. But they are ok now. Hopefully there will be no health problems in the future coming from it.
They are working on the kitchen door in my house right now so I got out of the kitchen. The doors being replaced. If I do not post for a good while it's because alots going on , my husband hurt his ribs falling in the freeze just lots of things and repairs on the house.
I try to write a short post when I can. Please be safe no one is safe from Covid. I have both shots and I still wear a mask when I go out for now. Just few more months. The vacinations under Biden are going well and we will get so much better. Love to all of you.🥰

Sorry for mistakes wrote fast. Words spaced crazy ect.

Dee R Gee said...

Good to hear from you, Sue. Sorry to hear about your daughter and granddaughter having COVID. Glad they're ok now. Keep well and stay safe.

And I think we all agree that Adam looks damn good in a Stetson. LOL

Sue Smith said...

Thanks, Dee R Gee🌻

Nanbert said...

Yes...Sue, good to hear from you. Glad your daughter and granddaughter recovered...and are now immune to Covid (I assume). But one thing I've been waiting to hear from you is how you are doing now since your operation and rehab. Was it successful? I was very worried because we hadn't heard from you in eons, and I feared you'd gotten worse. I hope no news was good news.

Patria, Adam is more than a chameleon...he's a GLAMELEON!

Nanbert dear my back is not great I am still in alot of pain. In some ways it is better but my lower back right now is killing me. I have had to take more off my husband for now he has pretty bad bruised ribs. So that has just hardened the pain.
It was better for awhile but the lower back has really gotten bad again. I did not want to bore people with all that. The upper back most of the time is better the lower back is not at all. Oh well got to just keep on keeping on like we all do.
Nanbert thanks for caring.

Just reading my Chicago Trib this morning. There's an article on Lil Nas X's new video that is streaming by the millions. It is a very explicit video about gay sexuality. Adam's name was mentioned briefly along with several other gay artists who have been open and expressive about their sexuality on and off the stage. Some discussion has begun about how LNX is a real "trailblazer" as a gay artist who is really innovative, etc. The counter argument is that there have been many before him, and before Adam, who have also done their part in breaking down barriers. It always seems like the it's the current "star" who gets all the credit, when so many have gone before. The video is called "Montero." Fasten your seatbelts if you watch.

Ran across this tweet and was so happy to see it. I was late listening to the 2nd half of "Velvet" and was confused why "Roses" wasn't getting more accolades after I first heard it. The song is among my favorites and I'm glad for this opportunity to declare it in print. So glad it's Jake's Take's Favorite Song of 2020.

Off Topic. Just heard Staples and Office Depot will laminate your Covid Card for free. I've been carrying mine in a snack size baggie in my wallet. (Yes I've taken it to krispy kreme) I have a Staples in town and am going tomorrow to see about it. (hope there isn't a long line)

Patria said...

I want to ad that if you need to, you can go to the place you got your shots and get a replacement. I got my shots at Medicap Pharmacy about 3 miles easy drive from home.

Nanbert said...

Thanks for the info, Patria. I was just thinking about laminating it...it IS a bit flimsy. And I think it may be important to carry it with our identification.
