Following a controversial performance at the American Music Awards, Adam Lambert speaks out about his fears for the future and gets some much needed defense from his American Idol alum while catching a few performances at Z100’s Jingle Ball concert last night.

Lambert admits to being scared, “That people won’t want to buy the rest of my music; that people will stop being interested. I think that’s my biggest fear,” the 26-year old vocalist tells reporters on Friday in NYC.

Accompanied by his former cast mates on American Idol, the very talented Allison Iraheta, 17, was on hand to defend Adam’s AMA concert.

“As a performer myself, I know that when you’re onstage, you give it your all, and that’s what he did,” Iraheta reveals to reporters after seeing Taylor Swift, Justin Beiber, and John Mayer rock out at Jingle Ball, “I don’t think anyone should’ve been surprised.”

And just in case anyone still doubted the high-pitched runner up, American Idol winner Kris Allen similarly came to Lambert’s rescue.

“I thought it was Adam being Adam,” Allen, 24, gushes to reporters at Madison Square Garden, “Obviously, he couldn’t do that stuff on Idol, and so you’re getting to see the real Adam now.”

With his breakout album For Your Entertainment, released in November, having already sold around 200,000 copies, Adam confesses to reporters that all he can do is. “Continue being positive and try to live in the moment.”

Oh shut up Kris - this is the real Adam Lambert - he is too multi-faceted for that. Not helpful. Shut up.

To me his remark, is sarcastic; Adam is a nice human being. He should thank Adam that he's his friend; otherwise, Adam fans won't like him!
But I don't really like him; just trying to because of Adam!

This sounds like BS about being scared and probably was taken completely out of context. Adam has the 2nd best selling debut album of the year according to Billboard so I don't think he is fretting. Adam Rocks!!

I have been listening to Adam's music every day since Idol, and buying it on I Tunes. I love his music, and will buy anything he puts out here. Want more videos as soon as possible, and new songs too. Can't get enough.

Kris came across as a little sarcastic to me. He just slipped a notch in my opinion. I don't care for his type of music, and I think he is exhibiting a little envy there...

I don't think Kris was being sarcastic. He has never been very articulate in his interviews. I think he was just trying to be flippant about it AMAs)like ... so what it's no big deal ... it's just ADAM being ADAM. IMO
