"If I Had You" is the official 3rd Single!

Adam was on VH1 earlier today and when asked what is the next single, Adam answered "Probably 'If I Had You'. Most likely."
So it is coming true. It was either that or "Fever" and the management probably thought "Fever" may be too risky because of the lyrics etc etc. I think either would have been a huge hit. I'm very glad to hear that my favorite song of the album is the third single though! The music video will be worth waiting for!

Yea....I LOVE that song and WATCHING him perform it on a video will be fantastic. His producers do a fantastic job and he is a great actor!. I only wish the videos were available to show on a TV screen...my Mom, 89, is a huge fan but doesn't have a computer to watch...or to recharge a pod or player. She gets her "fix" at my house and with my itouch.
I love how the title said it was the official single and then the story quotes Adam as saying "probably. Most likely" XD
but yeah it will be.
An i'm so excited too!!!! I love that song and can't wait for the music vid!! But let's wait fir radio play first :)

my thoughts exactly! lol. As much as I love the song, I'm hoping "Fever" will make it to be third single. That song is sick!!! I lvoe it! I can't believe the lyrics made it impossible to be the next single! :(
I don't care what the singles will be. I just want Adam to have success. :)

Adam has never said "will be" only "most likely" and it won't be for a while yet.

In my personal opinion, time is being wasted not releasing at least a few of these tracks as singles. IIHY is a good song, but it's just a very BASIC dance track. Adam needs the songs above which all have a unique sound to stand out against other performers.
i like the tempo of the if i had you but my favorite is pick you up.

I believe the decision choosing IIHY is for access to radioplay. I love the song. Well, love each and every song in the CD. Have different favorites as time went by. Now, my fave is Pick You Up, totally a delight and so unique and most difficult to sing. From Hong Kong.

It is hilarious how the blogger took the sentence to the highest level..ROFL.anyways, it is a great song,one of my favs actually.very fun to listen and dance to,I hope they come up with a video too.on a second thought, I don't think I have favorites on the album, I kind of love love love all the songs, darn it!

not that I don't like "if I had You" (especially after Adam's performance on Oprah) but I WOULD prefer a different song as the new singel. In my opinion "if I had You" is a little too sweet for our Rockin Adam. I would prefer Strut (so hot) or "Music Again" (rock on!) but whatever happens I support Adam 100%!!!

I love If I Had You, but I'm not sure how radio friendly it will be. Fever is much more catchy as far as radio airplay in concerned in my opinion. I hope I'm wrong. I was kinda hoping that either Strut or Music Again would be singles if Fever couldn't. Oh well.
I think this choice was the most logical for his next single. FYE never got a chance on the radio, and the AMA's unfortunately made it very controversial to some. The rest of the world, happily, is embracing it, as they should. WWFM was the perfect choice to counterbalance FYE. An upbeat, radio-friendly song is intuitive to follow WWFM and IIHU is happy, easy to sing along with, and fits in with the current pop music being featured on the radio today. Give him time to progress to the edgier songs (Fever!) As he said in one of his recent interview, the radio Program Directors wield a lot of power -- one step at a time is the best way to proceed. He knows he has to mainstream more in the beginning of his career. I think every song on the album is wonderful, can picture videos with each of them, and Adam has a great business sense. Let's trust in his judgment and enjoy hearing IIHY as the next single .... assuming it is .... I think the poster jumped the gun saying "definitely". He never said that! Love U 4 ever, Adam...did you figure out what you're going to wear under the kilt yet???
Yes. I know he's going to kill the charts with this release..he can do so much with this song..make it dirty, give it a rock edge..or even sing it as a ballad..
