Adam Lambert has strained his voice, a spokeswoman for his record label said today.

Lambert was supposed to hold a telephone news conference Thursday in advance of the start of his tour June 4 at F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. He is scheduled to play Bethlehem’s Musikfest festival on Aug. 13. Tickets are still available.

But RCA Records spokeswoman Vanessa Fine said in a statement this afternoon that she “just received some unfortunate news – apparently Adam has strained his voice” and had to postpone the conference.

Fine said the strain will not affect the start of Lambert’s tour, and that she hoped to reschedule the conference for next week.

She said she did not have information on how the strain occurred. His website included no word of the strain.

Lambert gave an energetic performance of his song “If I Had You” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Friday.

As of this afternoon, there are six newly available $139 tickets to the catered cafĂ© area at Lambert’s Musikfest show. At the 7,500-seat RiverPlace main stage, there also were 444 reserved tickets at $37 left and 1,061 lawn tickets at $25 each.

Lambert’s debut disc “For Your Entertainment” was at No.72 on Billboard’s albums chart this week, and the single “Whataya Want from Me” was No. 28, after peaking at No. 10.

My baby! Nooooo=(((((((. I hope he gets better soon, we need his flawless voice for the tour.
I wonder if he strained it hitting those high notes? But he has done that all through his 20's so that can't possibly be the reason. He even said himself that he naturally has a big vocal range since a child so the ultra high notes he hits should not be the cause. I wonder how this happened then. Not enough sleep? Cold?

This worries me. He has been working non stop now for months, and hasn't had a chance to get any rest for his body or his voice. His tour schedule is a killer.........don't know how on earth he expects to be able to do so many shows night after night. I have tickets for Cleveland, but you know, I fear by July he may have worn himself out. Please Adam, please rest for awhile. We sure missed you on Idol. The only reason I watched it was because I thought you just might surprise us and show up. Missed you terribly.........terribly.

Those high notes in Music Again are ridiculous. When he usually does that song live, he hits the lower octave, but at that KISS 108 performance, he went up high. These notes are not like the usual open high ones he hits. He has to go quiet with them really straining. Glad he's resting in any case. No talking, no singing.

Adam is suppose to be doing a radio interview with a station in Nebraska tomorrow afternoon. I'm taking the above report with a grain of salt - I'm taking many things re Adam with a grain of salt until I see it coming from him. If he does the interview tomorrow and sounds fine, then, well, you know.

If he has strained his voice, I certainly hope it takes care of himself. Love you Adam

I don't know how he'll be able to keep up the pace of the tour, singing those high notes along with his vocal power. He's not singing slow, mid range ballads. He puts so much energy into each song,it has to cause a lot of strain. A good vocal coach will probably be able to help him. I feel like one of my kids are sick. He's a big boy. He'll be fine. Trying not to be a worrier.

I Just got tickets to Hyannis and I heard some other venues are still pending. Adam's show is going to ROCK. He's really smart to rest that beautiful voice. I really like how he interacts with we fans on his twitter. It makes me feel like part of something EXTRAORDINARY. REQUEST IFIHY-it is 7:51 a.m. and have requested it twice already! LOVE to Adam. He is beautiful!

Can't help commenting. Noticed that the returning Idols were all ones who were voted in first place. That was the line they drew and it's their show. Does NOT change a thing about Adam and the superlative energy and level of talent that no one will ever again reach in the same way that he did. I think we should just quietly smile and understand that whenever Adam is in the room, he is the center focus and maybe that would not have been appropriate last night. I know we are all worried about his voice and health and the coming tour. He handles it so well, has great, caring advice but maybe we should start a tweet and suggest that we can do without all the Meet and Greets during the tour. These guys give SO much on stage and maybe that is enough and resting between performances needs to be a priority. Just a thought - something proactive we can do to really help him.

Absolutely agree with 7:12 comments. Adam set the bar so high on last season's AI, that no one will ever be able to reach that level of performance and excitement again. Perhaps he wasn't asked to appear on the finale because he would once again be compared with Kris Allen(who did appear)and of course would outshine all the other AI winners and contestants esp. Lee and Crystal. And he has to rest his voice so he can be ready for the upcoming Glam Nation tour. We also know that you do not have to be the winner on IDOL to have a successful music career. Adam Lambert is the best example of that!
