Adam Lambert fans shouldn't expect to hear new music from the star anytime soon.

The Whataya Want From Me singer admits he's taking his time working on the follow-up to 2009's For Your Entertainment - which has now sold over 1,000,000 copies worldwide.

When asked about his next record, Adam shared: "I'm in talks, so it's all kind of being conceptualized right now, and what we're hoping for is maybe by the fall.

"So, I'm going to take my time and really write the most personal songs, the most powerful songs," he tells MTV News. "I really want it to be something that's really honest and real."

Lambert recently said of his plans for the new album: "I'm starting to talk to some writers and come up with some ideas, and I'll be writing a lot of it myself.

"It's going to be very pop, very rock, maybe even a little dark."

Heard he was collaborating with Alison Porter. Adam writing is so exciting. Broken Open was beautiful. DTRH was also one of my favorites too. He is so talented. Let it flow BB

What does this mean dark? Feel myself as a complete idiot!

I think by DARK, Adam means more songs like 'Broken Open' and 'WWFM' which I am ALL FOR!!! <333

Better spend more time to have a high quality CD than a rush one.I am sure he will enjoy the writing process. Can't wait and it is a long time.

Do you guys consider FYE a rushed album?? I heard it was recorded in 2 months...

WWFM isn't dark! This video white & black moslty, so what? Never like Broken OPen Don't think we can compare it with WWFM!

I can wait for him as long as he is happy for the new outcome of the next album indeed. He is doing this to make sure the fans will appreciate all the hard work he's preparing for us. He really treasure his fans. Love u adam and take care

After reading about this "Administration Deal" I understand that it is a BIG deal! These aren't signed with just any singer/songwriter. Sounds like he's really protecting himself as he should.

Congrats Adam!

sounds like it will be a good one

Good things come to those who wait. Adam can take as long as necessary to be satisfied with his second album and the writing process. I am sure it is going to be spectacular. However, in the meantime, his fans would like to see him do several tv interviews, maybe even another song from FYE and, of course, the icing on the cake would be Adam winning the Grammy in February.

I don't understand why fans complained about FYE album being overproduced. Please explain how WWFM and Aftermath are overproduced and Fever isn't? Have you ever listened the album version of Aftermath? He sounds very manly in it. It bothers me that he almost ruined these great songs of the album performing them acoustic in the GNT.

I love Sutan, but I'm a bit disappointed that Sutan didn't have a more feminine look. What's the point to be a drag queen and dress up as a man? Maybe the Glamberts pressured him.. :/

Oops, my post at 8:29 belongs to another thread, sorry.

I am very glad to hear Adam will take his time on this next album. He was pushed and rushed into the first one while on the road with Idol. I think this one will have more Adam and less other people's songs, plus there will be more time to perfect it with just the right mix. He also needs some time off to kick back and relax. I am willing to wait and anticipate.

I love acoustic versions of a song. If you have a great voice, why not showcase it and not the background noise. Most of today's songs are overproduced because many of the singers don't have the vocal chops. Adam does.

In my opinion there's nothing wrong with FYE album. In fact it's a great album and I hope the next will be as good. I know some of the fans like totally different kind of music that is in FYE. I couldn't follow any artist only for the looks, I never have.

I love Aftermath (should be a single) and Broken Open he co-wrote. Adam needs hit producers though, he cannot manage all on his own at this point. All the singles chosen from FYE were by hit the producers.

IMHO, the only thing REALLY WRONG with FYE Album is the unfortunate fact that I can't find it here in Azores to buy it as a gift to my friends. I have to buy it from Internet, of from a friend of mine who lives in Lisbon and have a CDs/DVDs store.
