I feel sad for Haley too, Adam. I would've loved to have seen her in the grand final but hopefully, she'll be signed and then she can release an album.

The last 2 standing are country vs. country and 17 and 16 years old. Country isn't my scene at all but I wish them both all the very best.

They have all these interesting musicians start at the beginning but end up with such stupid finals. What a shit show to go for country. I bet American can't stand a sexy talented bitch standing on stage in their National TV and this is just similar to Adam being voted off. WTF!

I love Haley! Did anyone notice JLO did not shed one tear last night. Think she feels intimidated by a beautiful strong sexy woman who can really sing?JMO She was not Randy or JLO's fave, but Tyler liked her and probably not just her singing lol.Gonna be kind of a boring finale and Scotty will win with all the little girls votes. He is good and will do well in country. Lauren can do cross over but a bit immature.

Wow...I don't even watch AI but I did go to their sight to hear Haley and she is more talented than the other 2 left standing. I really dislike AI and have only watched season 8 because of Adam.

I hope someone signs Haley because her voice is unique and from the looks of it (her guitar playing dad) she has been raised in a musical family.

I believe that AI is Fixed imo. Country music is so hot right now $$$$..Miranda Lambert, Lady Antebellum,etc. I'd bet money that AI wanted a "country" star to cash in on that wave. Look at the $$$ success of their last country winner--Underwood. She can sing soup can labels and country fans would buy it. AI is desperate for a winner. Kris Allen was a huge disappointment to them. They need a 'sure thing' to be credible in the industry or they will not survive.

Agree about the country music, but they were also pushing and favoring James Durbin a heavy metal rocker. Though I feel he was the most off key each week, but the judges still raved over him. There will never be another Adam, so it's hard to get too excited about AI since season 8.

What a snooze this year's AI grand finale will be ..... boring as bat**** country/country. What's with the American voting public?!? And the young girls are voting for Scotty?!?!? He's not even good-looking!!! But he does have a good country music voice if you like that genre. Lauren Alaina - I have a sneaking suspicion she might win .... aaaagggghhhhh!!!! Nothing at all to get excited about next week, folks!!

Yes, JLo probably feels threatened by Haley. To be honest, JLo doesn't have a great voice imho and she's not in the record producing industry so why the heck do they have judges who are only singers. They should have a record producer on the judging panel. Simon oh Simon you are sadly missed .... I'm in desperate need of an X Factor fix, so I can hear your constructive criticism again, and you will bring a lot of credibility to the show.

Yeah, this will be the most soporific grand finale in the history of American Idol.

I bet all the country singing kids will come out of the woodwork next year, and to make matters worse, I imagine Randy JLo and Stephen will be back next season. I didn't mind Randy once upon a time but now .... yo yo yo .... PUHLEEZ!!!

I hope Haley has a ton of fun on the Idol tour and returns home to make some beautiful music.

Haley will maybe have a record out but there have been females in the past who were just as good. Look at Allison iraheta. She was really good but where is her star status at.?
Now I'm not a country fan, but what I have noticed about the country singers today is that they are all about the same. The most current traditional country singer to me is Randy Travis. I did enjoy listening to Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, or does anybody remember Hee-Haw country show?I listened to these people with my parents, Tom T. Hall, you get the pic? They were country singers. I feel Scotty truly possesses this ability of being traditional in the country genre. You have to admit he does have a unique sound.

Adam Lambert is truly one of a kind! AI fans can have favorites every year, but I don't think we'll ever see or hear someone like Adam Lambert!

Someone wrote in an article about two years ago, "American Idol is about nice singers singing nice songs nicely." This is just what we got this year. Very predictable. No edge, No risk. Good for country music. They got two more to add to their bloated star list. Scotty and Lauren are sweet as hell and sing just fine, but I'm not a country fan. Haley pushed the envelope, which is what Adam loved, and the voters couldn't deal with it. Look at Adam. He's technically pop, I guess, but he isn't really pigeon-holed in any genre. (Maybe that's part of his marketing problem.) But I'd take him over anyone else out there just because he is't SKEERED! Neither was Haley. Good luck to her.

Not many guys like Haley, so mostly women will buying her album. I think it's something with her attitude that reminds of Gaga and she isn't very original.

Country idol has become a complete joke to me and I loved that show!! Until you are not allowed to vote more than 5 times we will never know who the real true winner is. nuff said!

This year's finale shoud be titled ... Teenage American Idol Country Hoedown ... WHERE does Aerosmith & other non country acts fit in?? Don't Know ... Don't CARE ... I FOUND my American IDOL in Season 8 ... the INCOMPARABLE ** ADAM LAMBERT ** .... NOT watching AI anymore!! On to X Factor & The Voice ... HOPE they ask ADAM to appear ... fingers crossed!! HALEY was the BEST this season ... IMO ...

Why don't many guys like Haley and how do YOU know that?? She's drop dead gorgeous-looking and has a fab voice, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with her attitude AND she picked herself up after she tripped, like a true professional. Thank goodness she's not all cutesy pie - ugh!!

Lauren would've won the worst dressed Idol in that 1st outfit she wore this week. Who the heck dresses her?!!! Talk about gross taste!!!

Well, if anyone's going to win it this year, I hope it's Scotty but you never can tell. Guess it depends on how much people are prepared to pay on voting.

Let's see, hmm..Well for one, Adam does, and he understands what it takes to be a successful singer and appreciates talent..and for another, my husband has a little bit of a crush on her, because she had an amazing voice, but also because she is beautiful and has a great personality. He is quite pissed that Haley is not part of the top 2 and is still disgusted that Pia went so early on. He will be going to the Idol Tour (his first time ever...) to see "his girls", something that I totally support, since I go to Adam's concerts (actually, so does he, as he is a BIG fan of Adam as well..it's just his year to get kinda silly about someone on Idol..), and I went to the Idol Tour two years ago to see "my guy"! ; ) I love the fact that my hubby and I can have our favorites, support them, and not be all weirded out about the fact that we sort of have our own little platonic "love affairs" with these artists. Kinda crazy, but what the heck! I also find it amusing that he is such a fanboy, both of Adam and Haley and Pia..Of course he would die if he knew I was telling you all that, so shhhh!

Drat! Now Adam and Sauli probably won't go the the AI finale. Sauli had said they would go to support Haley. Oh well. I'm bummed about Haley being eliminated. I thought she - like Adam - was original, gutsy and had the best voice hands down.

So sorry to see Haley go...she was definitely my fav, the most edgy, feisty, lots of personality and by far the most unique voice. I'm not worried about her though 'cause I'm sure she'll be recording some great music. I love her voice. The Country finale is not my cup of tea. There could not be any finale as exciting and spectacular as Season 8's with Adam and Kris. To see Adam sing with Queen and Kiss was simply amazing! He owned that stage, looked drop dead gorgeous and sounded incredible! Now, that was a Finale.

I absoulutely agree that the Season 8 finale was spectacular and one of a kind. Adam on stage with Queen and Kiss was an iconic moment in tv history.Now you have these two teenagers this season, both into the country music genre. It is very popular across the USA overall, but I think that these two kids should be in high school, with their friends, enjoying their sports and activities,etc. Lowering the age for contestants to 15 might have been a mistake. Bring it up to 18 so that teens don't feel the stress and pressure put on them trying to get into the top 10 and then the finals. Something has to change about the AI program: either the judges, the judging system, the entire process of mentoring and working with producers like Iovine. Tyler and JLo didn't add much to the show as judges at all. The producers dress up the female contestants with the makeup, hair, outfits so that you don't even recognize them. It's too much too soon. And for me, Adam Lambert set the bar so high during Season 8, that no one will ever compare to him or reach his level of talent. He is in a league of his own and AI no longer holds my attention any more. It's time to move on to other shows such as The Voice or America's Got Talent. And as we all know, you do not have to win AI to be successful in the music industry as seen with Adam, Daughtry and Jennifer Hudson.
You really do not hear much from recent winners Lee Dewyze and Kris Allen. I heard Bono and theEdge want to be on the finale and perform songs from their show SPIDERMAN. What does this have to do with anything? They need to get artists to perform with Lauren and Scotty and that should be interesting as to whom they will select. Oh, well, it's all over next week.

i'm sad for her but then i keep thinking they should have put her through last year and then she would have been the bright star among all the dull ones. she could have shown last seasons idols how it was suppose to be done.

Did anybody see James D. on Ellen yesterday?His song was ok except for the last part when he tried to go too high,( & it sounded like a screach-sorry,James,but it did)Ellen was very nice to him,& neither said anything about Adam.It's a good thing that James didn't cause he may not know that Ellen is such a big fan of Adam's.

@12:08 good post I totally agree with the age being too young. Scotty seams a lot more mature than Lauren. They really don't understand the stress and hard work that comes after idol I remember Adam saying it takes lots of hard work and commitment to make it. There never will be anyone as talented as Adam for me. I do like Haley and wish she was in the top 2, but I think she'll do well and she's a fighter! I think her and Adam could become good friends. Maybe take her on his next tour to open for him.

I'm not really invested in the whole AI thing anymore, but I guess my pet peeve would be the "we got 95 MILLION votes..." bit. Like it's a huge deal. Of course what they don't say is that every one of those tweens voting gets like 15 votes apiece, so not such a big thing after all. Oh, do I miss "It was quite karaoke and self-indulgent." I hope next year someone buys Tyler a thesaurus so he can use more than one descriptive word ("beautiful"). The Voice is a much better show, and I pray that Adam will be on it soon.

I have heard and read that a number of people are not interested in AI anymore including me. At one time i looked forward to the show esp. during season 8 with Adam. I did not want to miss one of his performances. JLo and Tyler add nothing new to AI. She seems more concerned about her hair and the outfits she wears. He needs to find some other words besides "beautiful" as someone just stated. These young singers just seemed overdressed and overproduced. I really don't care who wins this season. After Adam Lambert, the show just went downhill. He set the bar so high that for me no one will ever have my total attention every week to see a performance. Maybe after ten seasons, it's time to drop the show and move on to something else. The VOICE does look interesting and all that nonsense with the auditions is eliminated. It's just a different concept and that's what is needed right now in the world of reality tv.

The block I live on is having a massive garage sale tomorrow. I've been working on pricing items for two weeks. And NOW I hear the world is coming to an end tomorrow. What to do, what to do?

Well, I just have to admit something slightly embarrassing since we are reminiscing about the Season 8 Finale Show. I still have the whole thing on my DVR and I suppose it'll be there until the DVR dies..I thought it had stopped working at one point a while back and had a mild panic attack! Sheesh! Love watching Adam on the big screen TV singing Beth, and then with his powerful voice dueting with Kris singing We Are The Champions..Just the best ever finale show..I don't go to the end tho. Still really hate to watch the moment they announced Kris as the winner, although I do like the part where he says "Adam should have won this.." Oh, well, maybe I'll just watch that instead of the Finale next week...

Dont worry, the world CAN'T come to an end tomorrow....I still haven't seen Adam live in concert. No God would be that cruel, lol!

I remember being so pissed when Kris whats-his-name took the title over Adam. Seriously, there has never been or ever will be someone on that show who can demonstrate the unbelievable vocal range, control and showmanship that Adam did. Adam supporting Haley makes great sense...she has that x-factor that doesn't fit this country's conservative expectation. Whatever, those of us that supported Haley know where she is going...congrats to Haley and thanks to Haley for being so inspiring! Can't wait for her album!

The older I get, the more I realize I don't know and need to listen. Adam reminded me it's still ok to dance and get turned on by music and the sight of him! You found me! Didn't burn my bra I was a new mom so needed it.....did protest the war. My brother was Air Force helicopter crew, he saw things that gave him nightmares for over 30 years. And I'm not just talking about the enemy troops. My best friend's three brothers came back shot up and hopelessly drug addicted for the rest of their lives. It was a nasty cesspool of a war that dragged on way too long.

The wrong people are going to continue to be eliminated until the voting process is changed. If only one vote per night per contestant coming from any one phone number was allowed, the results would definitely be different. It's the kids voting continuously for 2 hours who are picking the winners, not the general public who have other lives to lead.
