could we just try to make this thread a positive one? We've had so much controversy and sniping it would be really pleasant to express some nice encouraging hopes for a young singer we admire and the common interests we share.

adam deserves nice comments, but i hope he keeps his singing his number one priority, all we here anymore is gay gay gay. what happened to "its all about the music" some fans are getting tired of this activist activity. he started out great, but now... he keeps on pleasing the Out editor more and more. sure its his life, live it, dont poster size it.

That's a great motto, it does take courage to be happy. Things can't give you lasting happiness, even other people can't give it to you. You have to decide within yourself if you choose to be happy, sometimes it takes great effort. For instance I just saw new photo of Adam with Carmit's baby and I chose to be happy he still has some hair left! ^o^

One of the last {and least important} things I noticed in that Carmit baby picture was Adam's hairstyle. His beautiful smile holding that tiny one- oh, my gosh! Love exists in the world -if we just choose to embrace it.

Congratulationsn to Adam and Leila for this recognition. Yes, we say it's all about the music, but there's nothing wrong with it being more than that. With Adam, the music is a way to project his beautiful voice, but the social activism and charity work is also an important part of him. I would never want Adam to give up his passion for human rights just because some people "get tired" of hearing about it. It's not "just about the music," nor does it have to be.

Adam and his family are intelligent, kind and accepting people. They have made such a difference by being themselves. Love that Adam is getting the positive attention that he so deserves.

However..I just have to respond to the comments about Adam "just keeping it about the music": (I'll be nice.)

I'm sure Adam's original intention going into Idol was to create fabulous music and share his beautiful singing voice with us and the world. Period. He did not want it to be about the "gay". However, as he has said recently, he has come to realize that he can use his "voice" and example as a proud gay man to perhaps bring acceptance and enlightenment for the GLBT community. I really don't think he is trying to please the editor of OUT magazine or anyone else. He is doing these things because he believes in them and understands the need: The Trevor Project, It GetsBetter...He can indeed help to Make A Difference.

I love Adam as a gifted singer and entertainer and that is what first attracted him to me when I first laid eyes and ears on him on AIS8, along with his sweet and respectful personality. Not to mention his ability to morph from crooner (Feeling Good) to OMG! sensual and sexy (Ring of Fire) to Rock God (WLL) to poignant (Mad World) to anguished and hopeful (A Change Is Gonna Come)...the list goes on...

One of the many things that keeps me interested and committed to him since then is his willingness to speak out for what he believes in, his courage in the face of adversity, his basic and innate goodness as a human being. To ask him to deny and/or ignore those things he feels strongly about is asking him to untrue to himself.

The music will soon come again to the forefront, with the release of his new single and album. In the meantime, I am so proud of him for the recognition and honors he has received.

Not criticizing anyone, just saying what I feel, and thanking Adam for being Adam, and for him sharing all of himself with us.

glitzylady, you are a class act. thanks for wording your comments in such a way, that no name calling was stated, like so many on this site do, when they dont agree with fans who do not care for Sauli, or Tommy or Adam being more focused on LGBT rights instead of his talent for singing and entertaining.
