Brian May has a Lambert obsession.

love hearing Adam mentioned in such a good way. Brian has prob been misquoted so many times. He is a very smart man.

Have to wait until I get home from work to see this one, exciting to hear praise for Adam!!

I love Brian May. He is a class act. I know Adam wants to concentrate on his solo career, but he really is the closest to Freddy you will find. Love the members of Queen and their kindness and admiration for Adam.

I love rewatching Adam's performance with Brian and Roger at the EMA's. So happy they asked Adam to sing with them and love hearing all the praise they give Adam.

I love listening to my CD of the Adam/Queen performance. I have it in my car and it's just long enough to get me most places that I go.

Jeez. Performing with Adam was his highlight of the year??

That says A LOT don't you think?

Sure we all would die to get close to Adam but we're not living rock legends so when he says it it takes a whole new meaning hah.

Anonymous said...

Love to hear that performing with ADAM was the highlight of the year for Brian. It was for many of us! When and if they do perform together again, it will be EPIC again!

Wow, Roger and Brian were really impressed with Adam! Who wouldn't be he's such an enormous talent! For Brian to say working with Adam was one of the highlights of this last year is amazing! I hope Adam is hearing all these accolades he's receiving from Brian and Roger.

Adam is smart to stay focused on his solo career. He's working very hard and knows what he wants. Being asked to sing with Queen for the EMAs was def an honor for Adam and I bet he will do it again. We know Queen is talking to him about "live" dates already.

Just want to hear the new music! Patiently waiting.........

Not sure did Adam mean he is a solo artist by saying that he is his own frontman. Maybe he didn't dare to include the word band in it, because his band ain't half as talented as Queen.

Anonymous said...

when and for who brian gave this interview please?

This is the most funniest video I've ever seen about Adam and WWFM. Have to watch it, ROFLMAO!

When they play the clip from "The Show Must Go On', you can tell it's not Adam's voice. Adam has much more depth and richness to his voice and you can hear the difference. For Brian to say it was a "thrill' to work with Adam is such a compliment! We can only hope that there will be a time or two in the future where they will perform again together ... like the Olympics?? That would be AMAZING!!

Awww, this AOL article about Adam, Queen frontman to be?, is a bit off the track..

I'm a die hied adam fan and just started a new job, so I tested the waters, no one has heard of him or a few said oh that wierd guy from idol??? Breaks my heart,I really really hope adam blows up this year becuz I've been telling everyone I know (family and friends) just you wait! Adam has along way to go (in mainstream) to win over america, I think this queen thing helped so much, I sent the video to all my friends that are not really fans everyone wrote me back and said WOW, that was awesome! Now I feel queen knows adam's going to blow up in the music industry and wants to be part of it. Don't know which way to think???Personally, adam is his own grest artist of his time and does not need Queen! IMHO

Anonymous said...

I don't see that Queen would have the need to make money on Adam. They are just being supportive. Also, there's been demand for Queen performances I think. Adam has been saying he would like to collaborate with David Bowie too. Maybe he's just throwing names around, I don't know.

Adamluv said...

OT - but Adams apearance with Joe Zee is being repeated tonite on Sundance channel. It says at 10 EST which is 7 here in LA. This is for peeps who missed it the other nite or just want to drool some more over Mr. Gorgeous! I vote for the ladder! ... Adamluv

3:59 lol the same thing happened to me too but these people don't seem to know any other mainstream names either. Go figure!!

Anyone who thinks Queen needs Adam knows nothing about that band then. They have been and still are rock icons. 40 years into it, and their late frontman was in a class by himself. They have been running a contest for people to sing and get a chance to front the band in a performance or two for the new year. They have not been extremely active musically since Freddie died because he can't BE replaced. It is an honor for any singer to perform with them. As musicians, they recognize talent when they see it, which is why they appreciate Adam. They do not need the money, believe me. They have made millions are are still getting residuals any time one of their original songs are used.

Anonymous said...

@4:45 PM Actually,Queen made billions dollars, they made millions in pounds:)
I wrote about this already. But I want to repeat it again.
Adam needs to have few performances with Queen. These shows would promote his new album. Adam got a lot of new fans after EMA. I am possitive that hew would get much more fans after the few concerts with Queen. And the sales numbers on new album will fantastic.

Anonymous said...

Since Queens concert was watched by half of the world it was huge for Adam. I am sure that before the concert there were millions who had never heard of him, and aftwards were still asking "Who was that guy?" I hope it will have had some affect on the sales of his upcoming album. But it is still the tour where the money is made. From what I understand his single will be downloaded on I-fones either free or bought for a nominal price. I am hoping he makes much more money at his new tour, with 2/3 rds less venues. But we will see, the die hard homophobics are still there and won't budge.I have talked to a lot of people who have never heard of Queen.

Did you hear that wild voice that I talked about in an earlier comment, that's the essence of Freddie Mercury; fierce, despite that being his swan song. Queen brought out Adam's peak, okay maybe almost because each time I say that's Adam's best, it never fails to make me retrieve the accolade for there'll be another. Queen has this very special quality sound, Brian's searing guitaring and Roger's precise drumming; not so apparent in other bands. Brian is very articulate and I read somewhere he has a Phd? I really like the portion where Adam paces in front, brandishing, and Brian with his shrill guitar, running in small steps right behind him. It's heart-warming, like a younger icon leading an older but just as brilliant.

Brian May earned a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College in 2007

glitzylady said...

Yes, Brian May is Dr. Brian May:
He has other "hobbies" besides music. : ) He's a smart man obviously, and he loves Adam. A VERY smart man.

From Wikipedia:
"He was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2005 for "services to the music industry". He earned a PhD in astrophysics from Imperial College in 2007 and is currently the Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University."

FYI Roger Taylor studied dentistry, John Deacon was graduate with First Class Honor Degree of electronic at Chelsea College.
Freddie earned a Diploma in Art and Design Graphic at Ealing Art College.
Using his dgree in electronic, John designed a lot of special light and sound effects for Queen performances

I have always been a fan of Queen, musicians of the highest order and all accomplished, very smart men. They could easily retire on their abundant wealth, but their music will always be revelant and Brian and Roger brings joy to my ears as does Adam. They are astounding together. Adam needs accomplished musicians like Queen to back his powerful vocals. I wish they would do an album together. I especially love The Show Must Go on. Adam is so versatile. Would love to hear him with a full orchestra sometimes too, as well as unplugged. He is just fine, no matter what he sings. Would love to hear him sing, O Holy Night,as Eber suggested, If anyone ever asks him to sing on a Christmas special. I just want to hear him sing anything now...David Archuleta has been on a few and really has a pleasing voice.

I saw a recent doco about Queen a week ago and it was said that they do not want to do world (or big could’ve been the word) tours again. I gathered they don’t want to replace Freddie either which is fair enough. Freddie remains the rock god today as much as he was when he was live. Some collaborations with Adam would be great though.

Anonymous said...

^^Whoops! I meant "alive" not "live".

Anonymous said...

3:59, That's what I used to get when I mentioned Adam to people. First, they don't know who he is, then if I mention Idol, they remember that and the AMA's and go "Oh...him." I don't mention him anymore. I guess his new music will have to speak for itself.
Most people that I heard from didn't like his OTT sexual antics. If he keeps that up, we might be the only fans he has. Nobody seems to care if it's a straight woman doing those things on stage, but a gay guy must threaten people with their sexuality or something like that. Sad.

Anonymous said...

Yea quite sad that people don't even want to hear his name mentioned. This sort of ideology takes time, years, even generations, for people to do a re-think, but Adam seems to be thrust into the limelight to pave the way. Pioneers always face an uphill climb but we need this kind of people for society to progress.

Anon 12:38 PM Well you cannot say that Adam has a band. He is a solo artist or is he? Not sure. It's seems that he is bound to Tommy. It's sad that Tommy is only an average guitarist. It was fantastic to see Adam permorance with Queen because they are as amazing as Adam is.

Anonymous said...

I think Tommy is just fine as Adam's lead guitarist. He is not as good as Brian May but he is talented too; I think he also plays the piano. Also, having worked with Adam on the GNT, they would have learnt to coordinate and gel well, like a kind of telepathy, sensing what the other wants or is thinking. When a singer and a musician perform together, it's not just the technicalities that come into play, the chemistry is just as important. Adam and Tommy both have that edginess and handsomeness about them and they trust each other. Moreover, Tommy is a crowd puller. At the GNT, some girls were screaming for Tommy but of course the majority for Adam.

Lam-my, Tommy plays in a band called The Heartless with Isaac. Their frontman is Ravi Dhar. They've had gigs in LA recently. Not sure how many people went to see him. Anyone know?

Anonymous said...

Don't worry if you didn't know Tommy plays in a band. Not all Tommyberts know it, because they only focus on the Adommy. They're not interested in the music. Except for Monte's music..

Anonymous said...

I do appreciate Tommy's fans who like Tommy as himself.

Adamluv said...

@Anon 11:21 - in answer to your question I've seen Ravi Dhar and the Heartless (with Tommy and Isaac) several times here in LA. You must NOT have read my reviews (LOL). They are great to watch and listen to as they seem to be truly enjoying themselves. I'd go see them anytime. Last time was the end of Oct. and Tommy was there with his girlfriend, LizAnne. Am a big fan of Tommy and dont like it when peeps bash him for IMO no valid reason. ... Adamluv

Anonymous said...

Thank you, Adamluv. Hope you don't mind me asking, but would you go to see Adam on tour if Tommy wasn't in the band?

glitzylady said...

Okay, I'm not speaking for @Adamluv here..she can answer for herself, but here are few comments from ME about Tommy:

1. I've met @Adamluv twice at two different GNT concerts (we first "met" here) each in our home states, many many miles apart, and I can tell you that she is a HUGE Adam Lambert fan. As am I.

2. I've been to a gig that Tommy played in, without Adam and it was fun. I just happened to be in the same city at the same time. Would I travel a long distance to see Tommy perform without Adam. Not likely. A shorter distance: maybe: why not??

3. I've met Tommy twice. He's a sweet and quiet guy, and very generous with his time with with those who wish to say hello. I dislike the Tommy bashing that I hear sometimes. I'm with Adamluv on that...I don't get it either.

4. I'm happy Tommy is going to continue to be with Adam's band. He's been loyal to Adam and I'm anxious to see and hear what he can do as a lead guitarist. I think its very hard to judge his skills as a lead guitarist without experiencing it live AND hearing more..AND its Adam's decision anyway.

5. Tommy has some really cray (in my opinion) OTT fans who create all sorts of scenarios based on their obsession and subsequent fantasies of Tommy's private life. Not his fault, in spite of what some like to say. Adommy, outside of their friendship, is fantasy. Period. He has spoken out against it, as has Adam. Those who choose to believe it don't listen to anyone but themselves.

6. I am DYING to hear Adam's new songs and am glad most of the band will be there with him.

7. I've been to a gig with LOADED, the band Isaac plays in with Duff McKagan (Guns and Roses..) based in Seattle..I live in that area, read about it so my hubby and I went. It was fun to see both of them. I don't believe that makes me any less of an Adam Lambert fan either. Met Isaac and have talked to him three times. Really nice guy too. And he is in awe of Adam and he is a total fan-boy when it comes to Adam and his skills.. Again, would I travel a long distance to see Isaac in concert without Adam. Probably not..But who knows.

Adam is the reason I'm here. Period. But I enjoy some of his other band members. That doesn't diminish my fan-girling of Adam one little bit.

If he did nothing but one man shows from here on out, I'd go to as many as I could, band or no band. The band backs him during live performances, but Adam is who I am there to see. Always. Completely. I generally don't see the other members of the band until I see a video later.

Anonymous said...

Glitzylady, I have nothing against Tommy or the band members, but I hate the attitude that Adam must always be there for them.

funbunn40 said...

@Adamluv,Glitzylady, we definitely are on the same page. I've met Tommy and he's a sweet guy who's a good, loyal friend of Adam and very appreciative of the opportunities Adam has given him. I also don't like the Tommy, Sauli and all other personal bashing of those close to Adam. He's a grown man that is selective in his persoal friendships and professional choices, which I respect. Adam is also the main man I choose to follow. The other bandmates, dancers, etc. I've also come to enjoy and would see if I were in the area, but life does notpause for them as it does for Adam!

Adamluv said...

@glitzlady and @funbunn40 - thanks guys for answering the question posed to me and you answered it perfectly. I can like Tommy, Issac, or whomever, but Adam Lambert will always be my one and only idol! That I also enjoy seeing and listening to Tommy has nothing to do with my love for Adam. I only commented on Tommy due to the question posed by the anon. poster. Notice my tag isnt Tommyluv! ... Adamluv
