Wow, I think I will go listen to this a few more times. This is the best acoustic so far IMO. I love that Adam is giving Tommy the opportunity to do these promo's but I agree, Kevin seems to do a better job. Wonder if Kevin is taking a break or Adam's just giving Tommy an opportunity. No matter, I love them both! Adam must be a great boss! Noticed Tommy toning down the makeup too.

Why do some of you people want Tommy gone? He is Adam's friend and was there way before Kevin. He likes and needs both of them. Friendship is something you can't replace and Adam is very loyal to his friends. So stop dissing Tommy. Find better things to do with your time.

That was such a great heartfelt performance. Adam knows how to sing more softly when the guitar is perhaps too soft, so no problem.

I disagree about Monte. He was a virtuoso but lacked character in his guitar playing. His stage presence was egotistical. I'm glad he's gone.

WTF??? This video clip stopped half way through the song and from what I heard, it was the best live performance of BTIKM I've heard to date. I really liked that the sound of the guitar was soft, leaving Adam's voice so clear. I think it's too loud when Kevin plays but that's just MPOV.

I wonder if this performance is on youtube. I'll head over there and search for it.

I don't miss Monte, never really warmed to him. Actually didn't really follow the band that much, although personality wise, I think this wet up is working well. The 4 members Adam has now all seem really great and all seem to love Adam. So maybe Tommy isn't the strongest player, but sometimes frindship and loyality are worth more.

The dj who introduced Adam must not realize that the "Glam and Glitter'he once wore is no longer part of his new, fresh style. That was then; this is Adam now. I also wonder why Adam is not getting any air play for BTIKM. I just don't get it. We hear so much garbage on the radio and when a superb vocal talent comes along like Adam, he is practically ignored. He is on this promo schedule that seems to be grueling as he performs the same 2 or 3 songs for the gathered audience and answers the same questions. His performances are always great and yet ..... I just hope that when TRESPASSING is released that it is greated with accolades and success because Adam Lambert certainly deserves it. And to add, I think Kevin is so much better than Tommy. Tommy seems to have no personality, almost seems bored. Whatever it takes, get it together before the release of the album and any live performances on tv to promote the next single. Adam has poured his heart and soul into the production of his sophomore album and I would hate to see him disappointed with it release. From the three new songs I have seen on video here, they sound great and any one of them would make a good second single.

keep voting on the VH1 top 20 peeps.Adam's airplay is picking up slowly. Let's see, when someone introduces Adam, don't mention gay, AI or glitter and anything else from his past. lol Looking forward to seeing the whole band together live someday. Why all the comparing? so high school.

This promo tour touches more and more people each time. Of course he has to answer the same questions, sing the same songs, etc. Celebrities promoting a book have to talk about the same book over and over. Celebs promoting a movie have to do the same. It's no different here. We who follow Adam each day see him do the same thing over and over, but the casual or new listener does not.
As for Tommy, he's not the smiley type, but I think he's cute and I like him on stage. And quite honestly, I don't think that 99.9% of the listeners out there hear a big difference from one guitarist to another. Please don't jump all over me about this. I just think most people hear the music in the background and that's it. Tommy plays well. Kevin plays well. They're different. I think Tommy will emerge more as a lead guitarist when they go on tour. I'll bet he can do a killer guitar solo! And YAY to Adam and Sauli for being able to be together, esp. since Sauli's b-day is coming up on the 28th.

Monte isn't old, but he looks old. He plays great, but he not the only good guitarist out there. The new band looks young and cool, and they are all talented. The live concerts will be great.

I love this cause I can hear Adams voice surrounds and it's perfect not to echeod the guitar too much.

About not liking whoever with ADAMS side please folks give the gentleman a break. Tommy is not excellent to compare with the others but he is fine. Monte and Kevin are more experience in my opinion.

Nothing personal, but I like Kevins playing more. I admit I know nothing about music. Here I go explaining my opinion, but it seems we must explain, if we like someone else more than Tommy, because Adam's band = Tommy. Besides, Kevin has worked with Rihanna.

Already during GNT it was Tommy Joe Ratliff featuring Adam Lambert. And it continues. Does Adam give the same attention to Ashley? No, because she isn't a cry baby like Tommy.

LOVE this performance of BTIKM. Adam's pure voice is so clear with the lovely soft tone of the guitar in the background instead of sounding jarring which detracts from performances. Adam applauds loyalty and he has that in bucket loads from Tommy Joe. I think he has a great band.

Geez, who needs enemies when you've got friends like this on this topic. Give it a break, folks - quit bagging Tommy. He is ADAM'S CHOICE!!

Tommy and Cam were the weakest in the band, imo. Loyalty is good, but unfortunately to get to the next level Adam also needs best musicians. Of course Adam can continue to be good friends, or whatever he wants, with Tommy without him playing in the band, don't you think. Adam can't let Tommy's fans dictate his own career. It's stupid and costly.

8:05 AM, Maybe it's wrong to comment only about the music, but I'm a casual fan and I hardly comment about anything else here anymore. Radios and most record buyers, even concert goers in a larger scale only care about the music. On that scale the Adommy is just itty-bitty.

Adam may have asked Tommy to play softly for this performance and he did just that, such that the whole performance was beautiful. Loved it. :)

What I like about Kevin that he seems as very optimistc person and full of energy musician.He always smiling and look very happy. Sorry but I can't say same think about Tommy or Monti. Isaac is very annoying musician also. I think Adam needs to find good drummer if he plans to go to the tour.

9:38 AM, I meant I liked Kevin better at the radio gigs. Kevin does not play lead guitar in Adam's band and hence is not a threat. So far we have only heard Monte and Tommy playing lead guitar in the band.

Well. At this point I almost hate to state an opinion about ANYTHING on this thread but what the heck. Just shoot me now....

I LOVED Adam's performance here...In my opinion, he literally shines at this type of song, his voice is at its best: SO beautiful and with the soft guitar in the background, we can hear it perfectly. For the record, I personally could give a s**t who is there to accompany him..Its Adam I want to see and hear. Sorry, but that's pretty much the way I feel.

Okay, now for some Tommy comments since many here seem to think its open season on Tommy. First of all, this song was not being sung/played to highlight Tommy's very competent and experienced guitar skills. It is an acoustic performance, hence the simple, quiet acoustic guitar. Every musician has their own style. Tommy is quiet and a bit shy. He doesn't smile as much as Kevin (who I think is great BTW but I'm not going to compare the two) while playing, for instance, but I would suggest that Adam is the main focus during these events, not the accompanist .. That said, I personally don't sit and judge all of the band members when Adam is singing and performing. I watch HIM on stage during concerts and I've been to more than a few. He is pretty much who I see and hear. I don't remember once thinking about the band during those concerts. I've met some of them more than once, which was fun, but Adam is always my main man and always will be. The music was good, really good, Adam was fabulous, and I was in heaven each time. Monte is no longer in the band. I thought he was/is an excellent guitarist but at this point its completely moot...Why bring him up? That ship has sailed, so to speak. I liked him personally, and am more than sad that the events that led to his departure happened but I also understand why and I support Adam 100% in his decision. Just an unfortunate situation. Not getting into that. Old news. And there are those who would continue the dissing to include Cam and Isaac. I understand that we all have preferences, and are entitled to them, but what the hell?? Cam is great, and I love Isaac, both as a musician and a person. What is important to this discussion, since his name was brought up, is that he IS an accomplished drummer. Adam is free to choose whomever he wishes to be in his band. Adam is a perfectionist, and I doubt he would not expect the same from his band members. Its pretty darn hard to judge the quality of the sound of a band or even an individual musician from these (radio) types of gigs.. Many are not professionally recorded. The sound is often uneven, and it isn't necessarily the fault of the musician that we hear the drums too prominently, or the guitar not prominently enough.. Adam has a mic so his voice shows up well, its a crapshoot on the others.

Since I'm at it: @Anon 9:30 PM : So what do you think all these performances/appearances are FOR exactly?? The are specifically for promoting Adam and his music. If you are getting tired of them, just don't bother watching or listening. (I don't always listen to all, because real life keeps me busy..so glad I heard this one, because Adam was outstanding..as always..) Its as simple as that. Many radio listeners are either not familiar with him or haven't kept up with his career and he has to say the same things over and over. Its informative and what he's there to say. He is working really hard to get his name back out there, to promote his new music, and as a side light some very very lucky fans get to meet him and are treated to a mini-concert. And perhaps with all of the promo, more radio station Program Managers will include Adam in their playlists/rotation, because in the world of radio, that's what it takes: you have to be played to be heard: Unless you are Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, etc., you are at the whim of the Program Managers apparently. For instance, my local Top 40 KISS station in Seattle has yet to play BTIKM (as far as I know) or include Adam in the rotation..I keep (respectfully) requesting it and still nothing. I really hope Adam comes here and does some promotion, but so far no (but IS coming to Portland OR). Fortunately he IS getting radio play elsewhere. I also hope his next single, whatever it may end up being, blows the roof off and the new album is wildly successful. I have very good feeling about it and I still have faith that this WILL be a very good year for Adam, in so many ways.

This thread is a mess. So I'll make it messier. Since Kevin is Musical Director I'd let him choose the band. He's experienced and damn good and I'm sure would choose really good people. I wonder if Ashley was a recommendation of his? She's good and the two of them far outshine the two others. Won't mention them by name, not necessary.
Actually Adam is not a band! It's not Adam and the Glam Band or whatever. He's a solo artist. But when he performs a gig where a band is needed it should be excellent musicians, not best friends. All this discussion is completely futile, we have no say in this Adam will do as he always does. Exactly what Adam wants.
I will do as I always do, try to ignore the band and just listen to Adam (and occasionally watch Tommy wander aimlessly, looking bored out of his skull).

Had the camera man not included Tommy in the performance this whould be a totally different experience for most of you. Adam sounds his best and that is what we should be talking about. This was a perfect acoustic performance of BTIKM. Just my thoughts.

Adams fans are up for an award for the best fan base. Tommy Joe knows how to accompany Adam Lambert with great guitar playing allowing Adam's magnificent voice to be heard. I have many years of musical training and I play the guitar - EXCELLENT performance by both.

Adam has said that it is important that he have friends in the band when he tours...and I think it better that he is happy when he tours than to spend months on the road with "the best of the best" and not enjoy it. This is his life, his career, his choice of band members. I defer the decisions to him. :)

I am trying to understand all this talk about the band that plays for the "star" Adam Lambert---I don't get it. I just want to hear Adam sing and dance and do his best on stage.. . who plays in the band is up to whoever hires them

With all the comments here about band members, good and bad, what does it really matter because we do not make the final decision as to whom Adam wants with him esp. once he goes on tour. Adam knows the sound he needs from the songs he has recorded for TRESPASSING and must feel confident in the individuals he has selected so far. I also agree that Adam is not getting the radio play he should be getting for BTIKM here in the NYC area and he has already done the promos on several of the local stations. I just don't get it. The listening public settles for "garbage" in many cases with no talent performers whose music is enhanced with auto-tuning and other electronic techniques. And here is Adam Lambert, the best vocal talent in the music business today, following a gruelling schedule just to be heard. Hopefully with the release of TRESPASSING and the next single from it, the listening public will finally appreciate and understand what we as his devoted fans have known all along that he is a vocal powerhouse in a league of his own.

Any lesser person would have given up trying to establish a music career as has Adam during the last three years. Consider some of the negative comments, criticism, publicity and pictures that have just tried to break him down. And yet all of these challenges have made him fight harder because he is not afraid to express himself through his music, his friends and his fashion. The power of his voice so impresses me as does his message of love, understanding, acceptance and respect. I was a fan from day one on AI and will continue to be one supporting Adam through his musical career which will be very long and successful.

Adam's band, Adam's choice. Adam's career. His dancers and band members have the same considerations and the most talented will be in demand and can be expected to move on. NVM, as long as everyone grows, makes a living and stays in touch (if they become friends.)

No worries about new band members/friends threatening the old. Adam's has a lot of love in him.

Why isn't adam geting radio play, all these crap ( I mean really crap new songs are being played constantly) I'm so frustrated right now- it's like blackball the best singer on the planet and I know I love him but what I listen to lately they are all autotuned cannot hold a note, give me a headache just aweful _ what has become of music today ???with this generation? I believe that Adam knows exactly what he wants, whom he chooses as his band or as his dancers. As he has said many times, he wants to be surrounded by his loving "glamily," people & friends whom he can trust and be comfortable with. He does not need the best guitarist or drummer in the world but who can give him a headache! After all, we go to see Adam, not his band or dancers, as long as they do a good job. It makes sense to me too and, to me, Adam is definitely a very wise young man!

I have heard Kevin a few times on these videos and his guitar has always been out of tune. Adam is always on key. Tommy's guitar is in tune and he plays better. As for no personality...he is not the featured act. Also the audio people adjust the sound of everything. I do like Kevin on keyboards just great!
