Not a repeat: This clip is from "20/20 Barbara Walters Special Best of TV" 2 hour special tonight. Adam (from 2009) was featured prominently on the American Idol segment: YAY!!!!!!!!!

Its true that I find Barbara has ADAM's back as shown right after Idol, she featured him as one of the Ten Most Fascinating People that year on her list.
Then she had him as guest on The View after the AMA fiasco.
Both ADAM and Barbara Walters are Jewish.
And DWTS beat Idol as the No.1 Reality show because both Barbara and DWTS are on ABC.

The Bon Jovi guitarist opens up to THR about his new label, personal struggles, how Jon Bon Jovi factors into the equation, plus his thoughts on singing competitions -- and ADAM LAMBERT.

Sambora, 53, certainly could have taken his music to his pick of major labels, but the axman who once helmed his own indie in the early '80s still has the independent spirit in his soul.

“The music business is changing so rapidly nowadays as far as the way records are being heard, marketed and sold,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter. “These larger companies don’t have the flexibility to move along with that. The independent structure has a lot more flexibility and a lot more freedom. I think that’s why I moved towards that.”

“I had my own independent label when I was about 22 years old. I had a couple of failed deals on major labels [including Led Zeppelin’s Swan Song label with his band, The Message] before that, and I found a backer and created my own independent label.”

“With an independent mentality, structure and business, this is a long play,” he says. "This record could catch fire 10 or 11 months from now, who knows? The Lumineers had that record out for two years, and now it’s just starting to go."

Yes, I'm seriously thinking about contacting Washington United 4 Marriage and suggesting they invite Adam for a fundraiser. Was talking about that with friends tonight. I volunteer with WA United 4 Marriage, so have some contacts...Doesn't hurt to try...Not to mention, very close to home!! And for an excellent cause!!!!!!!!!!

As far as AI,I feel disappointed for Adam,but I think he needs to keep on singing,rather than judging.. It will take longer to be the super star that he deserves to be, but he will garner more creed and i believe more longevity.

Adam certainly was one of The Best of TV. I'm really sorry I missed the Special. I only caught enough TV to see some of the best sit-coms ever.

Adam is so talented, personable, and gorgeous he just fills my heart with so much joy, I could burst into tears.

Barbara does seem to really like Adam and she "gets" him. I really wish he could get more network, mainstream TV gigs, both performing and talking. I think if his sales were really huge, he would get more of an opportunity. It's kind of a "chicken or the egg" thing. You need exposure to get sales, but good sales help you get more exposure. SOMETHING has to grab the attention of the big network shows that brings Adam to their attention. He would be such a FUN guest, better than so many that are on these shows repeatedly. Barbara W. should have him on The View again, just 'cause she likes him. WE MUST GET TRESPASSING TO THE TOP! Anything to get him on bigger shows and to get a tour going.

Just read in my Chicago Tribune that Usher and Shakira are replacing XTina and Cee-Lo on The Voice next year.

My last input on American Idol:

Please do not think for a second that American Idol producers and sponsors are not aware that Adam Lambert is an internationally acclaimed artist and a true success. Do not think for a second that they, AI producers and sponsors, are not aware of the extremely positive and rave reviews Adam Lambert has received this summer after fronting the legendary band QUEEN for six incredible and sold out 2-hour shows. Please do not think for a second that they are not aware that his new album TRESPASSING is an absolute gem recommended by music critics and legends alike. Please do not think for a second that they are not aware that Adam Lambert has millions and millions of TRUE and PASSIONATE fans worldwide.

AI producers and sponsors knew all that. In fact, I find it unethical that they kind of used his name and his fans to promote their show throughout this summer.

But, let's all remember what happened at the end of Season 8 when Adam Lambert was passed over. Adam Lambert became the real winner of that season internationally and is now working on new and exciting projects all over the world.

Adam's fans will continue to support him wholeheartedly not only because of his incredible voice but also because of his genuineness, his personality, his work ethics, and his generosity. Other artists can only wish for such a fandom. Adam Lambert has and always had the IT factor!

P!nk sure has a great agent. She has been on all major tv shows this week.

Adam is now in the select group of people who are NOT judges on music competition shows. Pink just said on "The View" that she passed over such judging offers. She said "it's the comeback gig, I guess". She wants to concentrate on touring, on her family, on being 'free' to do other projects. See Adam, you're now in an elite group of singers/performers who are NOT judges on AI. Now time to concentrate on a worldwide TRESPASSING TOUR and/or other international gigs with QUEEN. I will go to both!

Adam has all the essential credentials to be employed by A1. What he doesn't have is a strong bargaining chip in the form of a powerful, influential backing. He's still very much the new kid on the block; and fighting heavyweights, his chances are diminished, with no leveraging power to bargain and win a transaction. And why doesn't he have this influential leverage; well I think we all know a plausible answer to that. But not to worry, it will happen, because he has his own natural built-in bargaining chip.

I was so blown away by the "faux kick at the security guard" you mention that I must have watched that vid 50 times ...no exaggeration. Whew, Adam, the Alpha Male, at his finest!!! Remember how he blew a kiss to the security guard afterwards? So cute! BTW, Sure Fire Winners and Sleepwalker are my 2 favorite songs on FYE.

Yes, ADAM has all the credentials tailored fit to be the best AI judge.
But what he lacks are other judges' claim as platinum recoding artists, No.1 hits and Grammy win.
I believe those are the reasons, he didn't fit in.
Just listen to all the promos of Idol and The Voice on TV about their judges.
(I don't know if you have it in Asia though.)
One by one, mentioned are their accomplishments I stated above.
And for that, it breaks my heart for ADAM every time I hear it.
But I don't worry because he is on his way to achieve all that, without any doubt.
ADAM cannot be denied or ignored with a fandom like us.

Well he is on his way to that and has only been famous 3 years! Yes Nicki M. Has only been out awhile but she was of those overrated flash in the pans! She will be around awhile but not the years Adam will be, Adam can act, sing, do theatre, model while young later get into real fashions, not just crazy stuff like NM would have out there, that real people would not wear! Adam will eventually be an Icon and be here long after NM is a memory in my opinion! I think in 2 or 3 years they would beg Adam to do it , he won't need them then, and that is if they are still here. Think about it Adam was the only one they considered, they did talk to him! 7:56, Great comments all around. AI realizes Adam is more talented and even more entertaining than the others they considered for the judging jobs. But that's not their only consideration by a long shot.

xyz, you also make a good point. AI doesn't want to hire what the public will think are less than the highest level stars to be judges. Adam has the talent, of course, AND the personality, AND the intelligence, AND the looks, AND the charisma, AI knows all that. What Adam does NOT have is a mega-hit under his belt. In their eyes, he doesn't have enough cred. His #1 album didn't have high sales, so that doesn't count.
Big sales equals big credibility and big exposure, and that equals a better chance to be on shows like this. AI isn't really interested in whether the judges ar talented or not. They want viewers. Adam needs a hit song that tops the charts and stays there a while. He needs a Grammy nom for his album. As great as he is, he doens't have the cred yet. Ironically, Maroon 5 wasn't a hugely successful band before Levine got The Voice job. But look what it did for him. They picked him anyway. New singers have come to stardom after Adam and have had better sales. He carries baggage, fairly or not, that others don't carry. But we are a strong fanbase, and when more people in the media, etc. get their heads out of their butts, they'll realize what we've know all along. Adam is a star, AI or not.

Pant dropped her, she did not put that album together right before idol or on idol, the album had been finished long while! That was her record comp. dropped her. The deal was idol had to puck up the album, and promote it let her put video's, and sing single on air, in her case lip sinc single. She was just going on past achievements. I agree: the bottom line is, the Idol producers were going for Star Power: instant name recognition in the music world and beyond...Adam isn't quite there yet. He is in MY world..but not in the general public's yet...That said, he would have been amazing as an Idol judge and to see him twice a week for 5 months..well it would simply be Nirvana! : )) A huge and wonderful opportunity for him had he been hired..I don't subscribe to the theory that "he's better off not getting it". It would have put him out there for the world to see in a very big way and I think it would have been a big and welcome boost to his career. But nope. He will still be a worldwide star (already is..) and "iconic" someday. I have no doubt in my mind. Just might take a little longer. I can wait. Maybe not patiently, but I can wait!

Year or do ago it was at over one million eight hundred and something thousand, FYI, platinum abroad and here over 2illion sold. Bet you Tresspassing eventually will go platinum abroad. Oh and FyI sold slow after first fee weeks until the GNT, then really sold, it sold well or ok after first few weeks, after tour started really picked up! Trespassing will too! Contact the shows and ask if fans have any input in the bookings they make for the programs. Couldn't hurt.

Even Kelley Clarkson, as of a month or so ago had not gone platinum, not in America do not know about any where else. Adam album out 4 months, her new album out over a year, people give him time. With tour, do believe he will have one!, a tour that is. It will do well I think. Adam also is already a platinum artist more than once, someone said he wasn't. Whoa! A lot of fierce 'soldier bees in the colony' and I'm on my way in full gear to join these brave soldiers...Yes he's a platinum-selling artist! Both at home and abroad! As regard to Grammy, well Adam got a Nom after having released just one album...a huge achievement by any standard; don't even mention that he didn't get the Grammy...he was ecstatic over his first Grammy Nom and reiterated he didn't believe they gave it to him because it was only a short span of 3 years that he got 'thrust' into this highly competitive business. Well, I'd say just one more thing which has not been mentioned so far, that is...Adam is the only one and no other, who has been through the whole process of Idol from being judged to being a judge/mentor. Do you remember the critiques he put forth. The whole S8 judge panel, judging him again, was highly impressed. This is called job experience and it should matter a lot in any job application. But clearly it has been overlooked. As I've said there was no 'godfather' present at the table to bargain for him. And he was up against heavyweights though I think Adam is more than heavyweight! Time will tell. :)

As fans, yes, we are thankful for a couple of ADAM's singles going platinum here in USA.
But the judges' credentials are for platinum albums, not singles.
The Voice 3 judges have 3 Grammy wins each and Blake has 14 No.1 hit singles.
ADAM does not have a No.1 single yet.
NM has 14 million downloads and Keith also has 3 Grammys.
(I hate it that "Call Me Maybe" has already reached 10 million downloads.)
And we all know where Mariah stands in the music industry.
FYE has not reached platinum numbers yet here.
We're just thankful Trespassing debuted at No.1 but we need to pray for hits.
We are all proud for all ADAM's achievements in 3 short years.

It does sound like Adams fans are harder on him than anyone else. I agree that his fans are not giving him the acknowlegement he deserves.I have been a fan since Wicked & for one person I think he has done wonders Artists that are famous for years usually takes a little longer Pink for instance has been in the business for years Usher also to name a couple.Adam will be well known for many years to come not a fly by night thing.love him just don't be to hard on him look at all the traveling he has done.He has had a personal life also he is doing his best we as fans are the best he loves us. I believe no one here is hard on Adam but simply stating facts.

Let us not forget that ALL of these artists have been in the music RECORDING biz LONG before ADAM ... this (TRESPASSING) album is only his Sophomore issue ... ALL the others have many other albums BECAUSE 'they' have been recording for many more years than ADAM. Where were they on the charts after 3 years & 2 albums? I think ADAM has accomplished a lot more than they did at the same time frame in their careers ... anybody else appear/collaborate with WORLDWIDE ICONS like QUEEN?? Not that I know of ... ADAM is doing JUST FINE ... JMO
