American Idol Judges: Enrique Iglesias “a private guy”, Randy Jackson “Wasn’t Too Happy”

"Nicki Minaj’s “American Idol” contract is almost signed, but her deal with Pepsi is holding it up. Pepsi sponsors her tour, but “Idol” is sponsored by Coca–Cola, so they’re hashing out how to get around the sticky cola issue.
We’re told “Idol” execs want to announce Minaj as a judge as soon as possible, before the auditions start filming in the next week or two. Sources say producers “want to see that drama between Nicki and Mariah Carey. It’ll make for good TV.” It seems there will now be four judges — country singer Randy Travis was in consideration until he had his “epic booze-fueled meltdown.” Now Keith Urban and Brad Paisley are in talks.

“Idol” producers had hoped to get Enrique Iglesias, but, “He’s a private guy and doesn’t want to expose his life to the show,” our source said.
“Producers definitely wanted Randy off the judging panel, and proposed to make him a mentor,” a source told The Post’s Page Six. “Not surprisingly, Randy wasn’t too happy about that and tried to negotiate a bigger role.”

There’s still a chance that Jackson — who’s best known for the catchphrase “Yo, dawg!” — could get a reprieve.
If the show can’t find another big-name male judge with an R&B background, it may be forced to bring him back, a source said."

Just an opinion...NCOE appeals a little more to easterners, definitely westerners as well; probably due to the long-drawn musical notes that Adam prolongs emphatically in the song. This is endeared and is quite distinct in older eastern songs. And the mention of sunrise has an extra appeal to Japan, land of the rising sun. Personally I like the song a lot because of it's rather peaceful, energised melody and lyric but most of all it's Adam's voice and specialised singing technique. :)

It's still so ridiculous about all these speculations about the Idol judges..Randy Travis??He could even get drunk on the show-who knows?Even as a mentor,no way,I say!N M..still may not get it,OR Keith Urban.Brad P already said he wasn't interested unless he got much more money....akkkkkkkkkkkk!!Hurry up,Fox & Idol!!Whether or not if Adam is still being considered,we want to KNOW!!!I think he may be better off as a guest judge or mentor;Idol sounds like a hot mess,esp if NM is gonna be on there OR Randy T.The show is so stupid to not offered it to Adam way before now.( A SERIOUS offer,I mean)I bet we still may not find out this week,but hope we do!

So they're looking for a male R&B judge, and if they can't find one, it's back to Randy??? So, they aren't even considering Adam, although he'd be the best. They are missing a huge opportunity. I guess they are blind and deaf as well. I guess I can continue to keep AI off my viewing schedule.

It does not sound favorable for Adam. Dayum I wanted to see him every week too and the exposure would have been great for him.

I don't think we'll hear any announcement of Idol judging panel until after the Democratic Convention.
Definitely next week we can expect.
I'm sure Enrique's name is just thrown out there in the mix.
Although he is considered hot (of course ADAM is hotter), I don't think Idol is serious about him.
Idol has already seen how laid back and how he didn't contribute anything as XF mentor last season.
My fingers are still crossed praying for ADAM.

I can't figure out how to vote on the AI Nicki vs. Adam thing. Adam will not get on Idol. It makes too much sense and they don't care about making sense.

If they want a big r and b singer why did they not get Farrell Williams, he pretty big and is not Mariah C. A R and b singer, she wanted L K, he R and b., they did not seem interested. Iglesias is certainly no R and B singer why would they want him if that was the case, Adam does know about every type Of music shady as an R and B vibe. If get NM she a rapper, Mariah C. I think R and B among other stuff I guess, why would they want another? That would be 2 R and B singers a rapper with some so call pop, mostly rap. And country why? Adam pop and rock and can judge and sing every single type of music Song Shady has an r and b vibe. They need someone with a basic pop and rock back ground especially if NM is in! Does not make sense. Adam Mirchell Lambert to good for these jokers on American idol, period. But still hope he gets it only because he wants it. If not think something even better turn up, least hope so. I do not like the way they are doing Adam, at all. randy Travis needs to worry about going to rehab and getting is life straight not Idol!

I personally wouldn't pay a lot of attention to the New York post article or any other article unless it comes directly from American Idol... Who knows how accurate the info is..I'll believe anything only when the judges are "officially" announced by Idol.. Until then it's anybody's guess. Should be happening soon and we'lll know for sure if Adam is in or out..my fingers are still crossed for him!!

@DRG- to vote on the link you must have FB. Even though it's a tv thing, she said comment down below on the you-tube page. Every comment I read was all for adam. I do believe if that Nicki (whatever) gets this ( I'm sure she will) and adam doesn't, I mostly will be pissed because adam has made it KNOWN to idol that he wants it! Nicki M could care less, not qualified one bit and just wants her face out thier somemore. Idol knows this, but doesn't seem to care what thier viewers want, it's all about the money and nothing else! So sad, whereas I have loved that show and will lose all respect for idol if they take on that no talent rapper!

Oh this is brownie and sorry for any Nicki m fans here, this is just my opinion and observation.
